  • Publication number: 20160205509
Abstract: A method for determining location history of a mobile device is provided. A plurality of states corresponding to a plurality of reachable road segments associated with a road network is determined based on one or more initial estimated locations of the mobile device. Mobility model defining transition probabilities between the determined plurality of states is generated. Time series network data associated with the mobile device is received from a network data source. The time series network data is associated with a given period of time. The time series network data is processed using the generated mobility model to estimate an actual route most likely travelled by the mobile device during the given time period.

  • Patent number: 9392267
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention include a system and method to generate a quality rating prediction, such as MOS, of a video under test without using a second video as a reference. Instead of using a reference video, embodiments of the invention generate a pseudo reference video from measuring local impairments of the video under test. The local impairments are then accumulated to create a difference image. The difference image is then subtracted from the video under test to create the pseudo reference, to which the video under test is compared to generate the quality prediction rating. In some embodiments the local impairments may be measured by separating high frequency noise from the video under test from the video itself. Once separated, the noise is then measured and bandwidth compensated to generate the measured local impairments.

  • Publication number: 20160178665
Abstract: A fault detection circuit for a flexible probe tip includes one or more conductive fault detection traces on a flexible substrate which are connected to a fault detector capable of determining if an electrical discontinuity or defect is present in the fault detection traces. The fault detector may also include a fault indicator, such as a light, to indicate to a user that it has detected a discontinuity and therefore that flexible probe tip should not be soldered onto the user's device under test. The fault detector may determine that there is a discontinuity in the fault detection traces by checking if the impedance of the fault detection trace changes, or by checking for a drop in voltage from one end of the fault detection trace to the other end, or by using other methods.

  • Patent number: 9363045
Abstract: Methods and systems are described for analyzing signal impairments using a test and measurement instrument. A method may include decomposing aggregate signal impairments into signal impairments that are correlated and uncorrelated to an acquired data pattern. The uncorrelated signal impairments may be further decomposed into periodic signal impairments (e.g., PJ) and non-periodic uncorrelated signal impairments. A PDF of the non-periodic uncorrelated signal impairments may be mathematically integrated, thereby producing an estimated cumulative distribution function (CDF) curve. Random signal impairments may be estimated as an unbound Gaussian distribution. The CDF curve of the non-periodic uncorrelated signal impairments and the unbound Gaussian distribution may be plotted in Q-space on a display device. Non-periodic bounded uncorrelated signal impairments (e.g., NP-BUJ) PDF may then be isolated. Bounded uncorrelated signal impairments PDF may then be synthesized.

  • Patent number: 9336596
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention include a system and methods for measuring disparity and mismatch of stereoscopic images of three-dimensional video, which may indicate a level of discomfort on the part of the viewer. Measuring these parameters may also be used to give an indication that certain processes have or have not adversely effected perceived depth (i.e. through conversion from disparity to depth given a display size and viewing distance), verify camera setup or 2-dimension to 3-dimension synthesizing processes. Generating the indications and other data about the stereoscopic images uses techniques that allow processing with much less computing resources than was possible in previous systems.

  • Patent number: 9329967
Abstract: Method and related systems are described for navigating through information related to the status of one or more layers of a signal, such as a serial or parallel bus. Information may be displayed by selecting fields within a visual depicted on an oscilloscope or similar measuring instrument. • Patent number: 9317931
Abstract: A waveform monitor for generating a modified image from an original image includes a brightness measuring system to generate brightness values that are then converted to f-stop equivalents. A selector is used to create a range of f-stop values and a modifier changes the original image for selected pixels that fall within the range of f-stop values. The original image may be modified by replacing or blending certain pixels with colorized pixels, i.e., by falsely coloring the original image. Methods of modifying images in this manner are also described.

  • Patent number: 9307227
Abstract: A method of generating a stereoscopic image registration and color balance evaluation display enables a user to align two cameras used to produce a stereoscopic video signal or to analyze a received stereoscopic video signal. Left and right images from the cameras are converted into desired video signal components. Corresponding pixels from the left and right images are compared for each of the video signal components, and plotted as x and y inputs to a Cartesian plot to produce respective two-dimensional (2D) histograms. The multiple 2D histograms are presented as a Quad Diamond display so a user may align the two cameras or analyze the received stereoscopic video signal.
