Abstract: There is provided a passive network monitoring device that monitors one or more network interfaces between network nodes including a SGW node, a PGW node, an ePDG node, and a PCRF node and a PCEF node. The device receives a handover indication for UE from untrusted non-3GPP network access to 3GPP network access and receives a response to an attach request from one or more of the network interfaces, the response including a MSIP address and a charging ID for the UE. The device determines the UE is from a single subscriber based on each of the handover, the MSIP address of the response and the charging ID of the response, and correlates information for the UE at each of the one or more network interfaces with the single subscriber.
Abstract: A method for measuring a quality parameter, such as luminance uniformity, of a video display, according to some embodiments of the present invention, includes providing a plurality of pattern images to be displayed sequentially on the video display, measuring the amount of light produced by each pattern image using a wide-angle light sensor, and calculating the video display quality parameter using the measured light values corresponding to each displayed pattern. Each pattern used in accordance with this method is derived from an orthogonal matrix, resulting in each pattern having a high average brightness, thereby eliminating the need to use a narrow-angle, spot light meter, and instead allowing measurements to be made using a simple, wide-angle, incident-light or reflected-light photometer. This method is compliant with the relevant SMPTE measurement standard for measuring luminance uniformity. Additionally, some embodiments of the present invention provide an apparatus for practicing this method.

Abstract: An subscriber location device for determining location information for User Equipment (UE) in a communication network monitors a network interface between a Mobility Management Entity node and an Evolved Serving Mobile Location Center (E-SMLC) node, receive location information from network interface between the MME node and the E-SMLC node, associates the received location information with corresponding UE to yield associated location information and stores the associated location information in a subscriber location database, indexed according to the UE.
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention include a system for providing a natural language objective assessment of relative color quality between a reference and a source image. The system may include a color converter that receives a difference measurement between the reference image and source image and determines a color attribute change based on the difference measurement. The color attributes may include hue shift, saturation changes, and color variation, for instance. Additionally, a magnitude index facility determines a magnitude of the determined color attribute change. Further, a natural language selector maps the color attribute change and the magnitude of the change to natural language and generates a report of the color attribute change and the magnitude of the color attribute change. The output can then be communicated to a user in either text or audio form, or in both text and audio forms.

The LIGA springs do not apply pressure to the mating member while in the second position.

Abstract: A user interface help dialog for a computer system is provided in which the computer system has a plurality of system parameters and the user interface includes a plurality of command options that may be enabled or disabled. A cursor for indicating one of the command options is also provided. To generate the help dialog the identity of a disabled command option to which the cursor indicates is first identified. The status of a subset of the system parameters is then evaluated, the system parameters subset being determined in dependence on the identified command option. A help dialog to be displayed to the user is then generated, the content of which is dependent on the status of the evaluated system parameters.
Abstract: A signal conditioning apparatus can include a coaxial cable having at least one slot formed therein. A conductive film can be applied to the coaxial cable so as to cover each slot. A device mounting surface can be formed within the slot and a protection device can be mounted on the device mounting surface. A housing consisting of one or more interlockable portions can be coupled to the coaxial cable.
Abstract: A method for estimating how best to position a new cell within an existing overloaded cell that is running out of capacity in a wireless network so as to optimize the offloading of capacity from the overloaded cell includes: filtering call records to keep calls made during a selected capacity planning interval calls and performing one or more of sending data to the overloaded cell and receiving data from the overloaded cell; geo-locating the sending and receiving calls; calculating one or more resource utilization values for one or more geo-located sending and receiving calls; and determining coordinates for an optimum new cell location so as to optimize the offloading of capacity from the existing overloaded cell.
Abstract: Described are systems and methods of determining DC offset voltages in IQ modulators. First, two different DC test voltages are selected for one of the inputs to the IQ modulator. Then, a first test voltage is applied to one input to the IQ modulator while test data is generated by measuring outputs from a set of signals applied to the other input to the IQ modulator. Then the second test voltage is applied and another set of test data generated. From the first and second sets of test data, second-order polynomial functions may be constructed and compared to one another to yield a ratio of power value outputs. Then the DC offset voltages may be determined from the ratio of power value outputs.
Abstract: A method of grouping multiple waveforms for a single channel of acquired data on a display area uses a graphic icon with the display area. The graphic icon has a first portion with a symbol indicating the single channel and with an indicator defining a baseline for the display area. The graphic icon also has a second portion with symbols indicating which of the multiple waveforms currently are being displayed. The symbol for the single channel and the symbol for a selected one of the multiple waveforms currently being displayed are highlighted. The highlighting may be via color, where the highlight color corresponds to the color of the waveforms currently being displayed.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a variable inter symbol interference generator that generates a data signal having a variable amount of inter symbol interference by passing a data signal through (1) a programmable filter having an adjustable frequency response, and through (2) a fixed filter having a fixed frequency response such as a PCB trace, a length of cable, a discrete filter, or the like. By adjusting the parameters and therefore the insertion gain or loss of the programmable filter, a large range of continuously variable and finely-tunable inter symbol interference amounts can be easily generated.

Abstract: A time-interleaved RF triggering method and system on a test and measurement instrument includes an acquisition component that samples a waveform, which is converted into an amplitude, phase, frequency, in-phase (I), and quadrature (Q) waveform, any of which can be used for triggering an RF digital trigger, including triggering that uses demodulation and/or decoding of the down-converted complex IQ data samples for a given protocol. Aliasing caused by subsampled data in each of the interleaved acquisition components is cancelled out using a fractional time-shift filter.

Abstract: A method for viewing a simulated light output generated for a first display on a second display includes a variety of steps. First, the simulated light output is generated based on qualities of the first display. Next, the simulated light output is compensated for color differences, temporal differences, luminance differences including gamma difference, and differences in viewing environment between the first and the second display, in real-time. Then, the simulated light output that has been compensated for the differences and for viewing environment is output for the second display.
Abstract: A planar body is configured such that its edges engage the sidewall of a via of a device under test to create point electrical contacts and the planar body resists removal of the planar body from the via after insertion. The edges of the planar body may include barbs that create point electrical contacts and resist removal of the planar body from the via after insertion. The end of the body that is inserted into the via may form a tapered tip to facilitate insertion. The end of the planar body that is inserted into the via may include barbs that resist removal of the planar body from the via after insertion. The edges of the planar body may include stops that prevent further insertion of the planar body into the via beyond the stops.
Abstract: A stochastic system in a waveform monitor reduces the amount of memory used to store waveform data as it is being accumulated. The system produces a high quality trace display using fewer bits of memory by incrementing pixels using stochastic methods. In at least some embodiments, possible memory values are divided into two or more value ranges and an increment percentage is ascribed for each of the value ranges. During operation, first a present stored value is read from the memory store and its ascribed increment percentage for the particular range is selected. Then the present stored value is stochastically incremented based on the percentage for the particular range.
