    Abstract: A remote access system between a remote client and an office telephone via a packet network on a point-to-point basis is provided. The office center includes a web server having a web page stored thereon and a PBX system. During a remote session, incoming communications to the PBX continue to flow to the office telephone and then are routed to the remote client. The remote client is able to view, manage and control the events as if the worker was at the office. Alternatively, the office telephone may establish a remote session with the remote client on a point-to-point basis such that all communications to the remote client flow to the office workstation. Additionally, the office telephone and remote client may have connectivity devices coupled to them so data from the connectivity devices can be viewed, managed and controlled at a remote location.

The communication interface receives a continuous time radio signal. The mixing module down converts the continuous time radio signal to a continuous time analog signal. The analog to digital converter converts the continuous time analog signal to a sequence of input digital samples. The digital gain block receives the sequence of input digital samples and gain adjusts the sequence of input digital samples based upon a gain setting to produce a sequence of output digital samples. The gain setting block produces the gain setting at any time as one of a first fixed gain setting, a second fixed gain setting, and a filtered time varying gain when transitioning between the first fixed gain setting and the second fixed gain setting.

    Abstract: A radome for a tracking antenna system may include a dome for covering the tracking antenna, wherein the dome includes a dome wall having inner and outer skins sandwiching a low dielectric material layer therebetween, and wherein the dome wall includes a gel coat layer covering the outer skin to protect the dome in a marine environment. The inner and outer skins may have a thicknesses of approximately 0.007 to 0.027 inches, more preferably approximately 0.014 to 0.020 inches, and most preferably 0.017 inches. The low dielectric material layer may have a thickness of approximately 0.153 to 0.173 inches, more preferably approximately 0.160 to 0.166 inches, and most preferably 0.163 inches. The gel coat may have a thickness of approximately 0.010 to 0.030 inches, more preferably approximately 0.017 to 0.023 inches, and most preferably 0.020 inches. The tracking antenna system may include a tracking antenna having a resonant frequency of approximately 3 Hz to 5 Hz.

    Abstract: An architecture for resource management in a telecommunications network includes two or more nodes connected over a logically direct path in a peer-to-peer manner. At each node, local events typically trigger the node to transmit a broadcast to every other node. Broadcast information comprises a status of the local node's resources. Remote nodes receive the local node's broadcast and independently transmit their own broadcasts with similar information. Each node stores the received broadcast information in a local storage for future retrieval. When a session is desired with a remote node, the local node simply retrieves the remote node's resource status information from its local storage and determines if a session can occur. In this manner, every node of the network is aware of the nodal addresses of the other nodes, remote node's resource status, and can quickly retrieve, from its own local storage, the availability of the remote node's resources.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for decoding a wireless signal from a set of samples with an embedded training sequence. The method includes the steps of determining a first frequency offset from the samples where the first frequency offset is assumed to be less than a Nyquist frequency of the training sequence and calculating a first carrier to interference ratio based upon the first frequency offset. The method further includes the steps of determining a second frequency offset from the samples by subtracting an absolute value of the first frequency offset from an integer multiple of the Nyquist frequency and giving the second frequency offset a sign opposite that of the first frequency offset, calculating a second carrier to interference ratio based upon the second frequency offset and selecting one of the first and second frequency offsets based upon a relative values of the calculated carrier to interference ratios.

    Abstract: A system and method for registering one or more networked endpoints devices includes indicating each user account to be associated with a registered endpoint. Each user account is assigned a unique PIN that will be used during registration of an endpoint. Once the endpoint is connected to the communication network, the system prompts the endpoint for a PIN. The PIN may be entered manually or electronically at the endpoint device. The system matches the PIN to its associated user account and sends the endpoint configuration files. The system retrieves the MAC address from the endpoint (which is generally stored within the endpoint device) and replaces the PIN with the MAC address. The endpoint is now registered on the network without the tedious task of manually entering long strings of addressing data.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a sliding mechanism apparatus used for slidably opening and closing a slider-type cellular phone. A guide member and a slider member are engaged with each other so as to enable to slide relative to each other. The end of one arm of a first torsion spring is connected to the slider member near the left edge thereof. The end of the other arm thereof is coupled to the right half area of the guide member. The end of one arm of a second torsion spring is connected to the slider member near the right edge thereof. The end of the other arm thereof is coupled to the left half area of the guide member. From the expanded original state of the first and second torsion springs, if an external force is exerted on the slider member or the guide member, the torsion springs are compressed into an acute angle and then spread again by means of the elastic force thereof. In this way, the slider member can move to the lowermost position or the lowermost position.
