Abstract: Disclosed is an apparatus and method for prevention of interferences from speech sounds in telephony. The apparatus comprises a cipher generation unit, an automatic speech sound sending digital processor and an incoming call filter unit. When a receiver receives an incoming call from a sender, a cipher is generated. Next, the receiver sends a speech sounded cipher to the sender based on the generated cipher. Responsive to the speech sounded cipher, the sender inputs a response cipher with reference to the speech sounded cipher. Finally, the inputted cipher and the cipher generated at the receiver end are compared, so that the receiver may determine if the incoming call is a voice-over-internet protocol (VOIP) SPAM and should be answered.
Abstract: In a method of recognition of a chronicle from a set of possible chronicles, each of said chronicles consists of a set of events related to one another by pre-determined conditions, said events comprising elementary events and complex events corresponding to a specific combination of at least two elementary events. The method comprising the following steps: obtaining a series of elementary events; determining at least one chronicle, called a presumed chronicle, that meets at least certain of said conditions interrelating said elementary events, from among said set of possible chronicles; and for each of said presumed chronicles, identifying at least one complex event that has to be present in said presumed chronicle; verifying the presence of said complex event from corresponding elementary events; confirming the recognition of said chronicle if said complex event or events are present; so that only the complex events necessary for said recognition are computed.
Abstract: A method of setting up a communication between a plurality of terminals (T1, . . . , Tn) in a network comprises the activation of at least one chosen node (N1, . . . , Nm) of the network. A node is selected beforehand as a function of predetermined criteria, then the presence of possible means of management of communication on this node (N1, . . . , Nm) is thereafter detected. In case of absence of the means of management on the node, means of management of communication are dispatched to the node. This method applies in particular to computer networks that can support teleconferences.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for filter spectrum deconvolution and reshaping include providing a filter output of a spectrum signal and determining the intensity and wavelength of the spectrum signal at each spectral peak. The filter output is characterized as an integral of convolution of a spectrum signal function and a filter function. Transformation are then performed on the filter output to deconvolve and remove the undesirable filter function and add a desirable filter function to reshape the output filter spectrum.
Abstract: A method of assessing traffic and performance characteristics of a mobile telecommunications network in terms of the level of service has inputs as to performance requirements for voice traffic and voice loss, data traffic or data loss, information with respect to the voice traffic offered and the data traffic offered and average length of an individual message. The determination is made on the basis of the number of radio slots which are allocable to data traffic and on the basis of an exponential distribution of the average call waiting time in the queue.

Abstract: An automatic method for learning frequent chronicles in an alarm log of a dynamic system for supervision of the system, and a learning system for using the method in a supervision system. According to the method, in an alarm log, alarm sequences are selected and then grouped in groups of similar sequences. Alarms of the groups are then used to produce partial logs. Frequent chronicles are then learned on each transmitted partial log and the partial set of frequent chronicles is determined. Then a set of chronicles in the log is formed with chronicles of the various partial sets.
Abstract: In a transcriber terminal, a module transcribes a trace stored in a trace database, another module validates the transcription of the transcribed trace by applying transcription rules and, if the transcribed trace is invalidated, a central unit transmits a control message including an identifier of the transcribed trace to an administrator terminal. The administrator terminal includes a module for checking if the invalidated transcribed trace must be accepted as a validated transcribed trace and a module for adding a transcription rule to a transcription rule database in order for the invalidated transcribed trace subsequently to be considered as a transcribed trace validated in the validation step.

Abstract: A broadcaster broadcasts all network cells received via a receive channel of a telecommunication line serving the installation to digital loops including terminals. A collector collects ATM cells produced by the terminals and transmits them in an emit channel of the line to the network. The broadcaster marks received network cells in order for the collector to eliminate them and not transmit them in the emit channel. ATM intercommunication cells can be produced by terminals and switched by the collector to the broadcaster in order to broadcast them with received network cells to destination terminals of the installation.
Abstract: A method of cellular telephony mobile equipment location based services data transmission utilizing an application which generates at least one message containing a set of data in a compressed format. The data set includes data from each particular message, specific data as to the message said, specific data as to measurements on Base Transceiver Stations or associated cells, and specific data on the cells monitored by the mobile equipment.
Abstract: A periodic and automatic telephone redialling system and method applicable to a dial-type communication device is proposed to provide a periodic and automatic telephone redialling procedure on phone numbers previously dialled by a user but failed to get through to the receiver. The advantages of this periodic and automatic telephone redialling system and method are that the user does not have to activate the redialling procedure manually, and the redialling procedure can be performed periodically for one or more phone numbers.
Abstract: A flashlight lamp circuit with automatic light adjustment includes a flashlight charging unit for controlling charging of a main capacitor, a flashlight activation unit activating the flashlight lamp to project a flashlight on the photographed object according to a flashlight control signal, a light sensor receiving and converting a light from the photographed object into an electric signal, an integral circuit receiving the electric signal and having an adjustable circuit resistance. When the amount of flashlight reaches a required light exposure, the flashlight control unit extinguishes the flashlight lamp.

Abstract: A system and related device emulates the behavior of mobile networks independently from the manner of collecting data about the behavior of the network obtained through a simulation of field measurements. The system emulates the behavior of the network during the exchange of information between terminals and uses an emulation device comprising two circuit blocks. The first is able to process the information according to time sequences corresponding to those of mobile networks. The second one exchanges information between the terminals connected to suitable interfaces. This architecture makes it possible to emulate uplink and downlink functions of the mobile network, displaying on the terminals the effects of the behavior of the network under various operating conditions.

Abstract: Process for managing the representation of at least one model of a scene including buildings intended to be transmitted to a client. The scene is modelled by a multi-scale tree-structured representation. Different nodes are associated with the different levels of details of the scene. These different nodes are dependent on each other in a tree structure in which at least one son node is defined by information known by a father node and by additional information in respect of the son node. A processing operation to simplify the representation is applied to the modelling and priorities for implementing the simplification processing operations are determined by a cost function which takes account of the criterion of the difference in height of the merged buildings.

Abstract: A system and method for re-routing a failed video call schedules one or more reserve video devices for use in the event of failure of the video devices selected to support a video call. Upon detection of a failure of a video device, the video network platform re-establishes the video call by using the reserve video devices to replace the failed video device, thus avoiding the waste of video network resources and delays in the completion of a video call. More efficient use of reserve video devices is obtained by pooling the reserve video devices with a reserve video network that supports plural primary video networks.
