Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of allocating channel codes for synchronous uplinks in a mobile communication system using a plurality of scrambling codes for the uplinks. This channel code allocating method, when a call is requested, searches for scrambling codes having at least one unused channel code, selects a foremost scrambling code among the found scrambling codes, and allocates an unused channel code in the selected scrambling code to the requested call, and, when a call is released, checks the number of channel codes and a scrambling code used by the released call, searches for active calls using another scrambling code posterior to the scrambling code the released call has used and not more channel codes than the number of the channel codes the released call has used, and re-allocates the channel codes and the scrambling code used by the released call to at least one active call if found.

Abstract: This invention relates to a water-based ink for ink-jet thermal printing containing a surface-active agent having, at a certain concentration, a slow dynamic rearrangement. This surfactant system gives the ink a high surface tension under dynamic conditions which grants greater droplet ejection frequencies with respect to the inks usually employed. At the same time, the ink's low static surface tension value means that it has correct paper wettability properties.

Abstract: A system and method for interfacing unified message processing systems with legacy voice mail, e-mail and facsimile systems, located behind corporate firewalls. The system includes a unified message server, a proxy interface and a message protocol converter. The proxy interface is configured to access the legacy system in response to a request from a unified message server. Messages stored on the legacy system are converted by a protocol converter to a predetermined format compatible with the unified message server. The converted messages are then transferred to a unified message server which is capable of providing messages from different messaging system, such as voice mail, e-mail and facsimile to users in a predetermined format. The invention permits enterprise wide communication systems to provide unified messaging without abandoning pre-existing legacy messaging system.

Abstract: A lock detector receives a feedback signal from a phase-locked loop and a reference signal. The lock detector includes a first generator for receiving the reference and feedback signals, and for sampling the feedback signal with the reference signal. A second generator is coupled to the first generator for incrementing a count when the feedback signal is at different polarities at consecutive edges of the reference signal. An output line, for asserting a phase lock when the count reaches a defined value, is coupled to the second generator.

Abstract: A method for broadcasting extensive multicast from a multicast exchange having a first address of a site of origin. A query of extensive multicast broadcasting containing the first address and an identification code of a mobile terminal is transmitted from the mobile terminal toward the site. A message offering access containing a second global multicast broadcasting address, whose source is situated in the site of origin, is transmitted from the site toward the mobile terminal. A message accepting access is transmitted from the mobile terminal toward the site upon the broadcasting to the second address. Information to be diffused is transferred from the first to the second address, and global multicast is transmitted by broadcasting to the second address. The mobile terminal receives, at the distinct site, the information diffused under the first address diffused under the second address.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for filter spectrum deconvolution and reshaping include providing a filter output of a spectrum signal and determining the intensity and wavelength of the spectrum signal at each spectral peak. The filter output is characterized as an integral of convolution of a spectrum signal function and a filter function. Transformation are then performed on the filter output to deconvolve and remove the undesirable filter function and add a desirable filter function to reshape the output filter spectrum.

Abstract: An electronic device having a sliding cap mainly includes a body, a sliding cap and an elastic element. The body has a transmission end that has a terminal section to couple with external electronic equipment, and a moving area on the outer surface. The sliding cap has an internal chamber to partly cover the transmission end of the body. The sliding cap is movable relative to the body by the guidance of the moving area to a protection position to cover the terminal section, and to a use position to expose the terminal section outside the sliding cap. The elastic element is held in the internal chamber to keep the sliding cap on the protection position in normal conditions.

Abstract: A system and method for diagnosis of video device performance in the transfer of audio visual data over a video network physically interfaces with the network to receive audio visual data associated with the video device of interest and uses diagnostic tools to access the audio visual data for determination of performance statistics with analysis of the accessed audio visual data, including video device jitter, latency, throughput, and packet loss.

Abstract: An optical collimator for single mode fibers includes a fiber segment (S1) with mode expansion including an entry and an exit for a light beam. The entry of the fiber segment with mode expansion is on the side at which the core diameter is the smallest, and the exit is on the side at which the core diameter is the largest. The collimator further includes a fiber segment (S2) with expansion holding coupled to the exit, the core diameter of which is equal to or greater than the largest core diameter of the fiber segment with mode expansion, so that the diameter of the light beam guided for this segment is kept constant.

A local mobile VoIP server is established in at least one specific communication zone and at least a central mobile VoIP server for coordinating the local mobile VoIP server in each zone is established. The mobile VoIP phone logins to the local mobile VoIP server in a specific communication zone to which the mobile VoIP phone enters, so the local mobile VoIP server identifies the mobile VoIP server in the zone and stores identification information of the identified mobile VoIP phone.

Abstract: A method and system for managing data transmission between an external memory and an internal memory of an electronic apparatus is provided. The system includes an interactive interface for outputting messages that indicate real-time storage status of the internal memory and external memory card. When an external memory card is inserted, the system automatically duplicates files stored in the internal memory to the external memory card, and deletes the files in the internal memory upon determining that the files have been successfully transferred to the external memory card by matching the file names of the files in the internal memory to the external memory card. The system further includes a clamping means for securely clamping the portion of the external memory card that is exposed outside the electronic apparatus to avoid unintentional detachment of the external memory card from the electronic apparatus.
