  • Patent number: 6868103
Abstract: Apparatus for single photon source based on emitters with frequencies distributed in a chosen manner. In one embodiment, the apparatus comprises an opto-electronic component capable or emitting light pulses containing a single photon comprising a resonant optical cavity and a group of photon emitters placed in this optical cavity, a single one of these emitters having an emission frequency equal to approximately the resonant frequency of the cavity characterised in that all emitters have a spectral distribution with a concentration of emitter frequencies at a given frequency, and in that the cavity is made so that its resonant frequency is different from this concentration frequency so that the number of emitters with an emission frequency corresponding to the resonant frequency of the cavity is close to one.

  • Patent number: 6868144
Abstract: A system and method for interfacing unified message processing systems with legacy voice mail, e-mail and facsimile systems, located behind corporate firewalls. The system includes a unified message server a proxy interface and a message protocol convertor. The proxy interface is configured to access the legacy system in response to a request from a unified message server. Messages stored on the legacy system are converted by a protocol convertor to a predetermined format compatible with the unified message server. The converted messages are then transferred to a unified message server which is capable of providing messages from different messaging system, such as voice mail, e-mail and facsimile to users in a predetermined format. The invention permits enterprise wide communication systems to provide unified messaging without abandoning pre-existing legacy messaging system.

  • Patent number: 6868112
Abstract: An apparatus for detecting the signals of transmission diversity based on space-time coding is disclosed. The apparatus and method for detecting signals of space-time coding performs linear interpolation and linear filtering to calculate the channel estimate of each transmission symbol from the channel estimate of each slot, thus providing the correct channel estimate even in a channel with considerable fluctuation. Further, the output control with estimation of SIR only passes a proper output of the demodulating and detecting circuit to improve the signal to noise ratio, maintaining enough communication quality even in a bad communication environment.

  • Patent number: 6868208
Abstract: The invention provides a method of photoinducing a Bragg grating in an optical fiber (300) or a waveguide, in which a selected zone of the fiber (300) or waveguide is subjected to a step of being exposed with a source beam (120) using a mirror (200) in such a manner as to fold a portion (122) of the source beam (120) as reflected by the mirror (200) onto a portion (224) of the source beam that is not reflected by the mirror, thereby obtaining a diffraction grating in the fiber (300) or waveguide, the method being characterized in that an additional exposure step is performed on said portion of the fiber (300) or waveguide, and in that relative displacement is imparted between the two exposure steps to elements selected from the beam (120), the fiber (300) or waveguide, and the mirror (200) in such a manner as to cause a same portion of the beam (120) used for photoinduction in both exposure steps to be reflected by the mirror (200) in one of the steps and not reflected by the mirror (200) in the other step.
