Abstract: An artificial hand having a plurality of fingers bent in scratching position, is affixed at the wrist to a first end of an elongated rod. An electric vibrator is coupled to the other end of the rod in a hollow handle accommodating such end of the rod. The vibrator is energized by a battery to vibrate the rod and the hand in axial directions.

Abstract: Magnets are mounted on the undercarriage of a railroad vehicle and produce a magnetic field. Coils are mounted between the rails of a railroad track and extend in the same direction as the rails. The coils are positioned in the magnetic field generated by the magnets, so that as the magnetic field moves along the coils, it produces electrical energy in said coils. An electrically conductive output is electrically connected to the coils for deriving the electrical energy produced in the coils.

Abstract: An assembly for fastening of railroad track incorporating a steel reinforced concrete tie with vertical thread steel sleeves welded to a reinforcement truss embedded in the concrete tie to which sleeves, track bolt assemblies may be threadably joined. A track bolt assembly includes a pair of hollow male threaded plugs, each threaded to a female thread in the opposed ends of a sleeve to retain a nut that is biased by a compression spring in the sleeve, to which nut, a track screw mounted to a hold-down block is engaged. With the hold-down block fixed against a track rail flange, the screw may be tightened in the nut of the sleeve to a pre-set tensile load as determined by the compression spring.

Abstract: A ladder fitted with a detachable foot section that can be fastened to either lower leg section of the ladder for extending the length of the fastened leg section. The detachable foot section is in the form of a circular housing threadably engaged to a screw that extends through both top and bottom ends of the housing, with projecting clip members externally fixed to the housing that engage shaped holes in the lower terminal section of the ladder leg.

Abstract: A housing has an inlet opening and a plurality of mutually spaced outlet openings spaced from the inlet opening. The housing has watertight ducts extending from the inlet opening to the outlet openings whereby water under pressure supplied to the inlet opening is provided at the outlet openings. A brush is rotatably mounted on the housing at the outlet openings in a manner whereby water from the outlet openings is provided around the brush. A hydro motor in the housing is coupled to the brush whereby a flow of water through the ducts rotates the hydro motor and thereby rotates the brush.

Abstract: A fan shaped rake fitted with a plurality of individual prongs pivotably mounted to the end of the rake pole, together with a sleeve slidably fitted about the rake pole which may be slid to a first position to fold the prongs to lie along the axis of the pole and to a plurality of extended positions which open the rake prongs in fan wise fashion.

Abstract: An inflatable container for storage of foods under insulated conditions. The container is formed of a removable heavy gauge plastic liner which fits inside of an open inflated box structure fitted with an inflated cover. The inflatable box structure and cover are each made of ribbed flexible material joined as walls to enclose an inflatable chamber and fitted with an orifice and a sealing cap. The inflated chamber serves as an insulation medium for maintenance of the contents of the liner at reduced or elevated temperatures from ambient conditions.

Abstract: A rectangular U-shaped mounting bracket is affixed to the bottom of the dashboard of a vehicle and has bores formed through its spaced parallel arms. A radio is swivelly mounted in the bracket via pins extending through the bores of the arms. A rectangular U-shaped securing bracket has flange parts extending away from each other from each of its spaced parallel arms. The securing bracket is hingedly affixed at one flange part to the bottom of the dashboard so that it is secured with the arms of the securing bracket parallel to and closely spaced from the arms of the mounting bracket whereby the pins are prevented from withdrawal by the arms of the securing bracket. The other flange part of the securing bracket is releasably locked to the dashboard.

Abstract: A first pair of semicylindrical frame basket retainers are hingedly affixed to a horizontal platform in spaced relation and open in opposite directions. A linking device is mounted on the platform between the first pair of basket retainers and is pivotally coupled to each of the retainers at distances above the platform for rotating the retainers about their hinges under the control of a user. A latch device mounted on the platform between the first pair of retainers releasably secures the retainers in positions of inclination relative to the platform. A second pair of semicylindrical frame basket retainers are affixed to the platform in a manner whereby the first basket retainers and second basket retainers are paired to form a pair of cylindrical trash can retainers, each pair of trash can retainers having a basket retainer of the first pair and a basket retainer of the second pair.

Abstract: A support arm is adjustable in length and is affixed to the center of a bottom cross arm to form a T-shaped structure. A pair of clamping devices are affixed to the opposite ends of the bottom cross arm and to the opposite ends of a top cross arm of the same length. The clamping devices in closed position support the cross arms in next-adjacent relation to clamp a rug between them with the rug resting on the support arm. In open position, the clamping devices support the cross arms in spaced parallel relation to position the rug therebetween. A plurality of mounting members are affixed to the bottom cross arm and the support arm.

Abstract: A rigid tub has an outlet hose affixed to the bottom thereof extending from an outlet hole for draining the tub. An outlet cap on the outlet hose manually controls the flow of fluid through the hose. A flexible bag has a body opening and a head opening formed therethrough and a zipper extending along the body opening to the head opening for selectively opening and closing the body opening to position a pet therein with its head extending beyond the bag through the head opening. A first fastening device releasably affixes the bag to the tub in a manner whereby the bag covers the tub and extends a distance thereabove. An inlet in the bag admits solids and fluids into the bag onto a pet in the tub. A pair of spaced hand holes are formed through the bag. Each of a pair of sleeves extends from the bag at a corresponding one of the hand holes for accommodating the arms of a user washing a pet in the tub.

Abstract: A portable oven and grill heated by solar energy, which is fabricated of lightweight materials. The oven box is formed of a shaped open diagonal box, the walls of which are heat insulators, finished on their inner surfaces with a black matte surface to absorb radiated heat. Vanes formed of insulated panels coated on their upper sides with aluminum foil to reflect radiation are mounted along the top of each edge of the oven box and oriented at an obtuse angle to the vertical inner walls of the oven box. A glass panel is mounted across the open face of the oven box, which is inclined at an angle to horizontal bottom base wall of the oven, to retain the heat inside the oven compartment. A slidable metal grill plate is mounted to the inner bottom base wall so as to slide part ways out of the rear side of the oven wall while remaining in contact with an aluminum plate loosely mounted to the inner base bottom wall so as to be heated, for grilling purposes, when so extended out of the side wall.

Abstract: An electrical jump rope apparatus which revolves a loop or rope about a horizontal shaft to enable a user to jump as the rope loop revolves. The apparatus includes a stand fitted with a telescopic vertical support arm, the length of which is adjustable, with a motor fixed to the support arm and spur wheels fixed to the motor shaft and spaced apart from each other by a tube fitted with bearings to freely revolve about the shaft. In use, the player grips the tube, as he jumps through the revolving loop of rope.

Abstract: An engine for driving the compressor of an air conditioner system which is powered by the heat of the exhaust manifold of a vehicle internal combustion engine. The engine of the invention includes a closed cylinder with a piston dividing the cylinder into two compartments, and with the piston rod extending beyond one end of the cylinder to power both the air conditioner compressor pump and a liquid pump that supplies the engine with pressurized liquid. The inlet port of the engine is located on a cylinder wall midway between the cylinder ends, with bores in the piston linking the inlet port with each cylinder compartment at the position of the cylinder that reduces the particular compartment to its minimum volume. Each end of the cylinder is surrounded by a heated exhaust jacket so that the liquid fed into the cylinder compartment is vaporized to expand the cylinder compartment and drive the piston.

Abstract: A dual toilet flushing system provides a first volume of water for flushing when a handle is rotated to a first extent. The system provides a second volume of water, different from the first, when the handle is rotated to a second extent, different from the first.
