Methods for making isolated native, bioactive nematicidal crystals are also described. The crystal proteins may be full length, truncated, variant, or sub-variant Cry proteins. Examples of crystal proteins include Cry5B, Cry21, Cry14A, Cry6A, and Cry13A.
Abstract: A method for inter-hospital identity authentication and electronic medical record transfer of patients is provided. Based on a blockchain technology, a patient achieves secure and efficient inter-hospital transfer authentication, and a new hospital accesses an electronic medical record with authorization of the patient, thus achieving reliable electronic medical record access controls. In each hospital, the patient, a medical server, and a doctor achieve efficient tripartite authentication and negotiation of session keys, and communicate based on the session keys. By introducing an elliptic curve to encrypt key parameters in an authentication process, a security of the entire authentication process is improved, and a computational pressure on a wireless device is reduced. In the authentication and the electronic medical record, the patient uses dynamic anonymity policies to protect privacy.

Abstract: A method for identification of characteristic components in a Kai-Xin-San by thin-layer chromatography (TLC) is provided, belonging to the technical field of pharmaceutical raw material detection and traditional Chinese medicine quality control. The method only needs to prepare two test solutions to simultaneously identify six characteristic components in the Kai-Xin-San, namely ginsenoside Rb1, ginsenoside Re, tenuifolin, ?-asarone, dehydrotumulosic acid, and pachymic acid. An automatic TLC spotting instrument can ensure even sampling and flat chromatographic bands and the silica gel G thin-layer plates after spotting are placed in the steam of the optimized developing solvent to allow pre-saturation.

Abstract: A power conversion system including a triple active bridge (TAB) is provided. The system includes a power factor correction (PFC) module and a three port converter (TPC) module, with no post-regulation or additional stages required. The TPC module includes an OBC full-bridge and an APM full-bridge, each being inductively coupled to the output of the PFC full-bridge, thereby forming the TAB. The OBC full-bridge is adapted to convert an AC input into a high-voltage DC output for a high-voltage battery, and the APM full-bridge is adapted to convert an AC input into a low-voltage DC output for a low-voltage battery. The power conversion system can accept a single-phase AC input and a three-phase AC input, has a lower current stress as compared to prior art TPCs, and freely transfers power from among any ports.

Abstract: A detection unit, device, and system for cell capture, spectral analysis, and drug interaction monitoring. The detection unit includes an IR-transparent substrate connected to a plasmonic metasurface with an array of metallic antennas. In a detection device, the detection unit is connected to a microfluidic chamber with a channel such that the channel extends along the metasurface. For the detection system, the detection device is mounted on a microscope. The infrared spectra are collected in reflection, with infrared light impinging on the metasurface from the substrate side and returning back through the substrate in the form of reflected infrared light. The system includes a syringe pump for injecting live cells into the chamber. An AC source is connected to the metasurface for cell capture and its AC voltage creates a dielectrophoretic (DEP) force that causes the live cells to move from the chamber and onto the metasurface for spectral analysis.
Abstract: A semi-powered foot and ankle prosthesis (100) has a foot member (128) coupled to the ankle frame (112) and movable with respect to the ankle frame (112). A linear actuator (144) is coupled to and between the ankle frame (112) and the foot member (128) to move the foot member (128) with respect to the ankle frame (112). The linear actuator (144) has a drive motor (150). A locking mechanism (104) selectively engages the drive motor (150) to selectively lock movement of the drive motor (150) to resist a force on the foot member (128) from backdriving the linear actuator (144).

Abstract: The present disclosure addresses the problem of UAVs pursuing a swarm of target UAVs. The target UAVs are flying together as a flock that are initially modeled as a circle having a time-varying radius or an arbitrarily-shaped swarm that may change in size. Guidance of the pursuing UAVs is developed based on a collision cone framework, wherein the pursuing UAVs cooperatively steer the velocity vector of any point in their convex hull, to intercept the target. Also, the problem of capturing a swarm of intruder UAVs using a net manipulated by a team of defense UAVs is disclosed. The intruder UAV swarm may be stationary, in motion, and even maneuver. Collision cones in 3-dimensional space are used to determine the strategy used by the net carrying UAVs to maneuver or manipulate the net in space in order to capture the intruders.
