    Abstract: A robot arm having a series of rigid links including a first rigid link and a final rigid link, the links being operatively controlled via tendon-driven joints, each tendon-driven joint comprising a motorized spool configured to rotate in either of two directions and operatively coupled, via a cable assembly having an elastic portion, to a pulley configured to move a respective rigid link thereby. A controller adapts robot arm motion in response to position and force sensing signals. A tendon-driven joint may be implemented via one motor controlling the tension of two cables acting in opposing directions and coupled between respective ones of a pair of common-driven spools and a pair of pulleys.

    Abstract: The present invention provides a neurite outgrowth promoter for promoting neurite growth on nerve cells of a postnatal mammalian individual for use in a condition in which an effective amount of a glial cell-derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF) is not present, the neurite outgrowth promoter containing at least one protein selected from the group consisting of: GDNF family receptor ?1 (GFR?1): GFR?1 mutants having an amino acid sequence that has at least 90% sequence identity with the amino acid sequence of GFR?1, the GFR?1 mutants having neurite outgrowth activity; fusion proteins that have neurite outgrowth activity and that are obtained by fusing GFR?1 or a GFR?1 mutant with another peptide; and chemically modified proteins that have neurite outgrowth activity and that are obtained by chemically modifying one or a plurality of amino acid residues in GFR?1, a GFR?1 mutant, or a fusion protein. The present invention also provides a pharmaceutical composition for inducing nerve regeneration.

The real fault has occurred at one of two or more real locations in the PLS; accessing a library representing model signals between model guessed fault locations and a model observation point in a network model of the PLS; selecting a model GFL by: (i) calculating metrics for the model signals by processing the model signals with the observed signal, and/or (ii) selecting the model GFL corresponding to a highest calculated metric; estimating a fault location of real locations in the PLS based on a corresponding location of the selected model GFL; and sending the estimated fault location to an external management system.

    Abstract: A cell matrix nerve graft for repairing peripheral nerve injury and a preparation method thereof are provided. The cell matrix nerve graft comprises acellular matrix and a scaffold, wherein the acellular matrix is obtained by decellularization after secretion and formation of stem cells, and the acellular matrix is wrapped around the scaffold. The defects of autologous nerve transplantation repair can be overcome and the immunogenicity of allogeneic cell transplantation repair is avoided. The cell matrix nerve graft beneficial to nerve cell proliferation and migration is provided, a microenvironment beneficial to axon growth is established, the purposes of nerve regeneration and function repair are achieved, and a feasible solution is provided for clinical treatment of nerve defects.

    Abstract: A novel approach for computing efficiently quantum based signal autocorrelations includes example designs associated with quantum circuits for computing the quantum autocorrelation of the signal. Importantly, to compensate for unique challenges associated with quantum signal processing (particularly regarding probabilistic measurements that result from QFT and IQFT operations), normalization and denormalization steps ensure that quantum measurement results are comparable to ranges that would be obtained with classical autocorrelation computation methods. In addition, because probabilistic measurements resulting from QFT and IQFT operations lose important phase information, lost phase information can be restored following measurement using QFT and IQFT.

    Abstract: The present invention discloses a method for the preparation and application of modified extracellular vesicles specifically targeted to the kidneys. These modified extracellular vesicles are derived from fibroblastic reticular cells in the mesentery tissue and express anti-inflammatory proteins after being modified with anchor peptides. By combining the extracellular vesicles secreted from fibroblastic reticular cells in the mesentery tissue with anchor peptides, the present invention ensures the effective targeting of the exosomes to the kidneys. Additionally, through genetic engineering of fibroblastic reticular cells, the exosomes secreted by these cells can carry the target molecule, anti-inflammatory protein CD5L, achieving precise targeted therapy for the kidneys. This innovative treatment strategy holds promising potential for the treatment of sepsis-associated acute kidney injury, bringing positive impacts to patients' health.
