Publication number: 20250143566Abstract: Phase-based optoretinography (ORG) is performed using tissue velocity obtained from a modified optical coherence tomography (OCT) system. A swept-source generated OCT A-scan is used to assemble a 2-dimensional profile of the retinal tissue (B-scan) by laterally scanning the imaging beam. These B-scans can be taken at multiple time-points and assembled into a M-scan, which displays motion of a particular cross-section of retinal tissue (after correction for bulk motion). The method captures the changes between each timestep of the M-scan to deduce tissue velocities of the COST, ROST, and IS/OS, among others. An initial contraction of outer segments is detected in outer segments, followed by an elongation shortly thereafter. The tissue velocity measurements can be used to infer retinal dysfunction without the need for costly and computationally expensive scans using adaptive optics.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 7, 2024Publication date: May 8, 2025Applicant: THE REGENTS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIAInventors: Ravi S. Publication number: 20250146987Abstract: A first-dimension-guided differential scaling algorithm of the contour plot in comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography (2D GC) system is developed by incorporating both 1D and 2D chromatograms obtained by first and second detectors. This differential scaling method is shown to significantly improve 2D GC results in terms of retention time accuracy and consistency, peak width and hence peak capacity, and analyte quantification accuracy, which are inevitably affected by the modulation period and phase shift in modulation when the conventional contour plot reconstruction methods. Furthermore, the differential scaling method is shown to better handle the coelution and missing peak issues often encountered in the conventional methods. Finally, the differential scaling method exhibits high versatility in detector selection, which greatly broadens the 2D GC utility and can be easily adapted to other 2D chromatography systems.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 5, 2024Publication date: May 8, 2025Applicant: The Regents of The University of MichiganInventors: Xudong FAN, Wenzhe Zang, Xiaheng Huang, Ruchi Sharma
