  • Patent number: 11635758
Abstract: A method for use in traversing a vehicle transportation network by an autonomous vehicle (AV) includes traversing, by the AV, the vehicle transportation network. Traversing the vehicle transportation network includes identifying a distinct vehicle operational scenario; instantiating a first decision component instance; receiving a first set of candidate vehicle control actions from the first decision component instance; selecting an action; and controlling the AV to traverse a portion of the vehicle transportation network based on the action. The first decision component instance is an instance of a first decision component modeling the distinct vehicle operational scenario.

  • Patent number: 11633879
Abstract: A method for forming a prosthesis comprising a bone-like portion and a cartilage-like portion can comprise additively manufacturing a first positive mold in accordance with a portion of a first three-dimensional model of a portion of a bone. A first negative mold can be formed from the first positive mold. The bone-like portion can be created within the first negative mold. A second positive mold of the bone and a cartilage can be additively manufactured from a second three-dimensional model. A portion of the second three-dimensional model can correspond to a portion of the first three-dimensional model. A second negative mold can be formed from the second positive mold. The bone-like portion can be positioned in the second negative mold so that the second negative mold and the bone-like portion can define a cartilage space that can be filled with a material to form the cartilage-like portion of the prosthesis.

  • Patent number: 11637374
Abstract: In an aspect, the disclosed technology relates to embodiments of a lossy ferrite-core and dielectric-shell (LFC-DS) structure in an axial-mode helical antenna (AM-HA) or a meandered dipole antennas. The instant topology can be used to facilitates the broader use of ferrite materials, including lossy ferrite material, for a miniature AM-HA or meandered dipole antennas, e.g., by overcoming the lossy characteristics of the lossy ferrite. The resulting miniature AM-HA can be used for high frequency operation, including at over 1 GHz, making the instant topology suitable for very high frequency (VHF) and ultra-high Frequency (UHF) applications.

  • Publication number: 20230118814
Abstract: A CMOS-based chip having one or more sensing modalities that are able independently to detect multiple metabolites present in a biological sample. The multiple sensing modalities may be provided at different locations with respect to the chip, whereby the chip can simultaneously detect a plurality of metabolites by measuring behaviour of a test material in the different locations. The chip may utilise paper as a transport mechanism for the sample. The paper either conveys the sample to the different locations or itself provides discrete testing zones in which different metabolites can be independently detected. With this technique, multiple metabolites may be measured in real time using a small scale point-of-care device.

  • Patent number: 11626169
Abstract: A radiation detection system may include a mobile device having a flash memory. The device may monitor various characteristics of the flash memory to determine when damage to the flash memory has occurred from radiation exposure. The device may associate damage to the flash memory with a radiation dose, and determine a level of radiation to which the memory, and thus the device, has been exposed. The device also may determine a length of time and locations where the radiation exposure has occurred. If the device determines that the level of radiation exposure exceeds a threshold associated with a safe level of radiation exposure for a human user, the device may generate an alert to the user.

Abstract: Features are described for a pellet dispenser. The pellet dispenser be implemented as a complex molded unit to fit within the home cage of laboratory animals (e.g., hanging from a wall of the cage or inside a food hopper of the cage). The pellet dispenser may be contained within the cage or otherwise attached to the cage so as not to take up additional floor space in the cage which should be allocated for the small laboratory animal. The pellets may be gravity or screw drive fed towards an ejector port. At prescribed times during the day, a prescribed number of pellets may be ejected into the animal cage. Additional components of the pellet dispenser include an ejector (e.g., a linear actuator) and pellet hopper.

  • Patent number: 11623396
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a tensioning system for use in a stereolithography manufacturing application. The system may have a build plate for supporting a three dimensional part being formed using a photo responsive resin, a base plate and a release element extending over the base plate. The release element is configured to receive a quantity of photo responsive resin for forming a new material layer of the three dimensional part. A pair of tensioning components are secured to opposite ends of the release element, and apply a controlled tension force to the release element during peeling of the release element to reduce a separation force required to separate the release element from the new material layer after the new material layer is cured.
