Abstract: A game board including a plurality of spiral rods mounted on an upper surface of a base and rotated in association with the drive mechanism in the base. A ring member is loosely received by a spiral rod and a manipulator is used to remove the ring member while the spiral rod is rotating.
Abstract: A starter device for a toy drive mechanism that simulates manual starting of a small engine. The starter device includes an input mechanism, operable by a user, for providing a first drive force; a memory mechanism for storing the number of operations of the input mechanism by the user; a sound generating mechanism for producing sounds in response to at least one of the first drive force and a second drive force; a motor mechanism for providing the second drive force in response to at least one of an intermittent input and the number of operations of the input mechanism being a predetermined number; and a mechanism for providing the intermittent input based on operation of said input mechanism and on the second drive force.
Abstract: Animal toys capable of electrically producing body movements are switched on and off by a pair of spaced apart electrical contacts disposed on a bottom surface of the animal toys. When a toy is placed in an individual's hand, the two contacts are bridged and an electrical circuit within the animal toy is closed to activate either a vibration producing mechanism.
Abstract: A toy house has a lamp for illuminating an interior of the toy house and a switch which is magnetically actuated by placing a play piece having magnet disposed in its bottom surface area in proximity to an end of a lever which carries magnetically attractable material. When the end of the lever moves towards the play piece due to magnetic attraction, the opposite end of the lever causes two contacts to come into electrical contact with each other.
Abstract: A top spinning toy has a spring wound mechanical motor which rotates a socket having a spiral groove formed therein. A top has a spiral projection formed on an outer surface thereof and is screwed into the socket. The socket is rotated in the same direction as the top-inserting direction until a coil spring within the spring wound mechanical motor is wound tight. A release mechanism causes the spring tension to release and rotate the socket in a direction opposite the winding direction. The top leaves the socket automatically at a high speed and is capable of spinning for a long time.
Abstract: A balancing game includes an elastic support having upper and lower horizontal support plates. A plurality of weight pieces, which are equally distributed amongst players at the start of the game, are placed on the upper support plate one-by-one in rotating turn by the players until one player exhausts his or her supply of pieces. The support tends to be more easily unbalanced and spill pieces with the increasing weight. A player whose last-played piece causes a spill must take possession of the spilled pieces and thereby decreases his or her chances of running out of pieces.
Abstract: A track apparatus for a toy racing car includes a car-entry track portion, a car-exit track portion, and a pivotal arm pivotally mounted between the two track portions to carry a car from one portion to the other. The pivotal arm has a stand connected to a distal end thereof which has a retractable stop. When a car travelling with sufficient momentum hits the stop, the pivotal arm is caused to pivot from one position to another, whereby the car is delivered from the car-entry track portion to the car-exit track portion. Upon reaching the second position, the stop is automatically retracted to release the car.
Abstract: A radio controlled steering device for a two-wheeled vehicle toy has a tiltable rear wheel movable to a tilting direction by a servo motor. Tilting of the rear wheel shifts the center of gravity to either side of the normal center of gravity to induce rotation of the front wheel in the direction of tilt of the rear wheel.
Abstract: A doll toy has head and trunk portions which are illuminated to project images thereon by a single interior light source. Illumination of both portions is achieved by making inner cavities of the two portions in communication with each other, so that the light source disposed in the trunk portion and head portions. Projectable images are contained on transparent frames located in both the trunk and head portions.
Abstract: A toy having a movable element is provided with a magnetic actuator which includes a magnet that is placed in proximity to a magnetically attractable component of a transmission disposed within the toy for transmitting power from a motor to the movable element of the toy. The magnet is embedded in a play piece which is placed on the toy on a designated area in proximity to the magnetically attractable component.
Abstract: Animal toys capable of electrically producing sound and/or body movements are switched on and off by a pair of spaced apart electrical contacts disposed on a bottom surface of the animal toys. When a toy is placed in an individual's hand, the two contacts are bridged and an electrical circuit within the animal toy is closed to activate either a sound producing mechanism or a movement mechanism, or both.
Abstract: An animated telephone annunicator apparatus provides realistic movements so that a user of the apparatus appears to converse with the apparatus. The apparatus receives telephone signals, and in response to these received signals moves portions of the apparatus in synchronism with the signals. As a result, the apparatus appears to realistically speak the words of a calling party.
