Abstract: The invention set forth pertains to a toy in which a vehicle is moved past one side of a leading station as an object is transferred from the loading station to the vehicle. An inclined ramp is located on the loading station; a carrier is movably mounted on the ramp so as to be capable of being elevated from adjacent to the lower end of the ramp to adjacent to the upper end of the ramp. This carrier includes a platform which supports the object as the carrier is elevated along the ramp. The vehicle is moved along the side of the loading station so as to pass the lower end of the ramp and then to continue toward and beyond the upper end of the ramp, and is provided with a shelf at such a height as to be capable of receiving the object on the platform as the carrier is elevated along the ramp. The carrier and the vehicle are provided with structures which engage one another as the vehicle is so moved so that the vehicle serves to move the carrier along the ramp.
Abstract: A toy usable as a game effectively simulating an adult game such as tennis, Ping Pong or the like can be constructed so as to utilize a housing having a rectangular opening which is preferably covered by a translucent screen. A light within the interior of the housing simulating the ball in such a game is visible through the screen. The light is mounted upon a member within the housing which is capable of being moved back and forth between different positions adjacent to the ends of the opening. A mechanical drive structure is provided for moving the member between such positions. At least one and preferably a plurality of parts capable of engaging the member so as to hold the member against movement is located in the housing. Such holding parts are movably mounted so as to be capable of being moved from engaging positions in which they are capable of engaging the holding member to non-engaging positions in which they will not engage the member.
Abstract: A toy trackway featuring a platform having an upper level and a lower level, the upper level provided with a trackway terminating at each end in a locking member, the lower level provided with two trackways each terminating in a locking member, and two flexible trackways, each terminating in locking members for engagement with the locking members of the trackways of the upper and lower levels of the platform, thus permitting one of the locking members of each of the flexible trackways to be attached to the locking members of the trackway of the upper level and the other of the locking members of each of the flexible trackways to be attached to the locking members of the trackways of the lower level either on the same side of the platform or on opposite sides of the platform.
Abstract: A racing game consisting of powered vehicles, a continuous trackway having substantially separate first and second guide mechanisms for directing the vehicles along the trackway, the vehicles being permitted to travel faster along the first guide mechanism than along the second guide mechanism, a switching station normally diverting the vehicles from the first guide mechanism to the second guide mechanism and retaining the vehicles in the second guide mechanism, a control assembly operative to actuate the switching mechanism to divert the vehicles from the second guide mechanism to the first guide mechanism and to retain the vehicles in the first guide mechanism, the vehicle being provided with a mechanism causing same to leave the trackway when moving along the second guide mechanism when struck by another of the vehicles moving along the first guide mechanism.
Abstract: It is known to construct amusement devices which include a transparent container filled with a body of transparent fluid, at least one object located within the body of the fluid and a pump or pump type structure for circulating the object within the fluid so as to move the object relative to a structure such as a holder or a simulated basket within the container. Such amusement devices can be improved by utilizing a target type holder at least part of which is movably mounted within the interior of the container. The pump employed includes a port located so as to be capable of directing a current of the fluid generally toward the movable part of the target so that the pressure of the current against this part of the target will cause it to move as the pump is operated to eject fluid through the port.
Abstract: A game capable of being played by two different persons can be constructed so as to employ a transparent housing serving to hold a fluid. A movable member having a specific gravity greater then the specific gravity of the fluid is located within the housing in the fluid. Two separate circulation structures are employed for circulating the fluid within the housing. Each of these circulation structures is capable of withdrawing fluid from within the interior of the housing and then ejecting the fluid back into the interior of the housing through a nozzle. The nozzles of the two circulation structures are located separate and apart from one another and are directed relative to one another so that the circulation structures are capable of being operated to cause currents within the housing for moving the movable member which vary and interfere with one another.
Abstract: An amusement device for looping yarn onto a flexible plastic framework consisting of a housing provided with a platform and a rotatably mounted handle, an advancing mechanism for sequentially gripping the frame and moving same forwardly along the platform, a needle operable in conjunction with a cam-like mechanism for rotating and reciprocating the needle in a predetermined sequence to progressively loop yarn along rows of filaments within the frame, a mechanical interface for operating both the feed mechanism and the needle in response to rotation of the handle, and a guide mechanism for moving the frame along the platform to permit knitting along a different row of filaments of the frame.
Abstract: A toy in which so-called "ball people"--figurines which are capable of rolling along an inclined surface--are transferred from one location to another in such a way as to amuse a child can be constructed so as to include a composite of several transfer mechanisms serving as a unitary transfer mechanism. The disclosed toy includes a more or less tubular tower which extends upwardly from a base. A threaded shaft extends upwardly through the tower. A carrier is located within the tower and is mounted in such a way that as the shaft is rotated the carrier is capable of lifting a figurine from adjacent to a lower or receiving opening to an upper or discharge opening. An inclined chute is provided on the tower so as to receive such a figurine and transport it to a pickup location. An arm mounted upon the upper end of the shaft carries a holder which is rotatable with respect to the tower.
Abstract: A toy doll provided with a torso and arms mounted to move with respect to the torso, a writing instrument to be held by one of the arms, a motor, a mechanism operatively connecting the one arm to the motor to cause the arm to oscillate with respect to the torso to move the writing instrument in a predetermined pattern, a platform provided with a plate mounted to rotate with respect to the platform and on top of which there is provided a drawing medium, and a mechanism operatively connecting the motor to the plate through the other of the arms to cause the plate and the writing medium contained thereon to rotate, the drawing that is provided being the result of the combined oscillating movement of the writing instrument and the rotation of the medium engaged by the writing instrument.
Abstract: A musical toy consisting of a plurality of separately operated dolls each having a flexible bellows provided with an air chamber having an outlet, and a passageway connecting the opening of the bellows and the air chamber, the air chamber and passageway of each of the dolls being of a size to produce a pre-determined musical note, and wherein each of the dolls is also provided with indicia designating the note.
Abstract: A toy garage having a cabinet provided with a plurality of compartments therein, a carrier for transporting vehicles mounted to move up and down and from side to side, and a control system including a plurality of actuating members for operating the carrier.
