Abstract: A toy train and trackway wherein the trackway is provided with a section which has a base and upstanding side walls provided with supporting surfaces which include portions that are parallel to the base and portions that slope downwardly toward the base, a powered vehicle having wheels that move along the trackway and the base of the section and which is provided with outwardly extending flanges, and a plurality of covers of varying configuration for the vehicle, each being provided with flanges extending outwardly therefrom which are oriented to engage the supporting surfaces of the side walls of the section and the flanges of the vehicle.

Abstract: An effective game or game structure can be constructed so as to utilize a receptacle rotatably mounted on a base member. A lid is pivotally mounted on the receptacle so as to be capable of being pivoted between opened and closed positions by a cam and cam follower structure as this receptacle revolves. At least one propulsion structure is located remote from the receptacle so that an individual using the game can attempt to propel a projectile into the receptacle as the receptacle is rotated and as the lid is periodically opened and closed.

Abstract: An amusement device having a casing provided with a playing surface along which there is defined a path, a body for moving along the path, a magnetic mechanism within the casing on the opposite side of the playing surface from the body for attracting the body, a first control knob operatively connected to move the magnet in one direction, a second control knob operatively connected to move the magnet in a different direction, a timing mechanism operable by the user to select one of several predetermined time intervals to complete the playing of the game and which is provided with an audible sound signalling the end of the game, after which the first and second control knobs and their related mechanisms are rendered inoperative.

Abstract: A battery powered toy telephone capable of playing in random order any one of several recorded messages, and also capable of intermittent ringing of a bell. Operation of the toy proceeds by turning on a switch, by pressing one or more buttons located below the dial of the toy telephone to cause the bell to ring intermittently, and then by removing the headset to play one of the recorded messages. The messages are recorded in separate grooves on a rotating sound disc that is disengaged from a stylus sliding in contact with a speaker cone by replacing the headset or pressing the strut, which must occur between consecutive messages. The bell rings intermittently only when the toy is turned on, the headset is in place or the strut is being pressed, and one of the buttons is being pressed, or has been pressed since replacing the headset or while depressing the strut.

Abstract: A transfer mechanism intended for use in moving an article such as a figurine from one location to another in a toy can be constructed so as to utilize a wheel which is rotatably mounted on a support structure. The wheel is provided with at least one opening which is sufficiently large so that an article to be transferred will pass through the opening. A carrier is pivotally mounted on the front side of the wheel adjacent to the opening. The carrier is sufficiently heavy so that the action of gravity will maintain the carrier in a substantially vertical position as the wheel is rotated. The carrier is provided with an entrance adjacent to the front side of the wheel which is sufficiently large so as to receive the article to be transferred. During rotation of the wheel the carrier will fit against the wheel so that such an article is held by the carrier until such time as the wheel rotates to a point where the carrier is located so that the article may pass from or to the carrier.

Abstract: A game structure capable of being used to simulate to a degree any of a series of games such as basketball, volleyball or the like can be constructed so as to utilize a housing having a transluscent or transparent front surface. In a game structure as disclosed a carriage is mounted in the housing in back of the front surface so as to be capable of being moved back and forth along a path. A member simulating a member which is moved as a game is played is supported on the carriage so as to be moved as the carriage is moved. This member is of such a character as to be capable of being viewed through the front surface of the housing. Two separate structures are provided for moving the carriage. One of these is mounted adjacent to one end of the housing and the other is mounted adjacent to the other end of the housing.

Abstract: A jumping rail to be positioned within a trackway having a base, a platform defining a path and mounted to pivot with respect to the base between a first position wherein the platform is aligned with the base to permit a vehicle after passing over the platform to continue travelling along the trackway and a second position wherein the platform is raised upwardly from the base causing the vehicle to jump, a mechanism for normally urging the platform to its second position, a striking member extending from the base upwardly through part of the path defined by the platform and mounted to move between a first position wherein the striking member engages the platform retaining the platform in its first position and a second position wherein the striking member disengages from the platform permitting the platform to move to its second position, and an additional retaining mechanism for rendering the striking member inoperable so as to continuously retain the platform in its first position.

Abstract: A board game having a housing provided with a window and two openings on opposite sides thereof, a slide mechanism mounted for movement within the housing and provided on the top thereof with a predetermined color-coded pattern for viewing through the window, two bars operatively mounted to move with the slide mechanism and with respect to each other, two wheels mounted to rotate in response to movement of the bars and provided with upstanding posts offset from the centers of rotation of the wheels, an operating handle for moving the slide mechanism and the bars, a plurality of playing pieces for each player, each such playing piece being provided with a flange extending inwardly to prevent the post of the wheel from rotating and indicia, the positions of the flanges of the playing pieces corresponding to the indicia and the color-coded pattern on the slide mechanism in a predetermined manner.

Abstract: An amusement device providing a variety of lighting effects in which a housing is provided with a source of light positioned below two transparent turntables mounted for rotation, a mechanism for rotating the turntables, an independently operated mechanism for varying both the direction and speed of rotation of one of the turntables relative to the other, and a plurality of discs provided with a variety of cut-out patterns to be positioned on top of the turntables.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a toy vehicle provided with a chassis, a propulsion and guidance wheel mounted to the chassis for rotation to propel the vehicle along a surface and for turning to steer the vehicle, a propulsion mechanism within the chassis, a system for operatively connecting the wheel and the propulsion mechanism to rotate the wheel to propel the vehicle, a system for sensing predetermined sound waves and temporarily connecting the propulsion mechanism to the wheel to turn the wheel to steer the vehicle, and a handheld sound wave generating unit remote from the vehicle for generating the sound waves.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a combination chair and bed for small children featuring a back and seat rotatably mounted to each other, a footrest rotatably mounted to the seat, a support rod having legs spaced apart from each other and an intermediate connecting portion, the ends of the leg portions being connected to the footrest permitting rotation therebetween, the legs also being connected to the back permitting rotation therebetween, a locking rod having ends and an intermediate portion, the ends of the locking rod being connected to the legs of the support rod permitting rotation therebetween, and a positioning and locking mechanism connecting the intermediate portion of the locking rod to the back at a plurality of predetermined positions therealong such that the back, seat and footrest may assume a flat position defining a bed, a collapsed position for carrying and storage, and a plurality of intermediate positions when functioning as a chair.

Abstract: A continuous racing game consisting of a trackway provided with separate paths along which vehicles race, a propulsion system having pluralities of resilient spokes associated with each of the paths, each of the pluralities of spokes being mounted for rotation and having a series of spokes radially oriented such that the ends of the spokes extend into the paths, and a mechanism for moving each of the pluralities of spokes closer to the surface of the trackway in response to a remote control signal generated by a bellows-like mechanism.
