  • Patent number: 4061334
Abstract: A disc bowling game employing a rotatably mounted turntable provided with a playing surface, a multi-faced deflection member rotatably mounted on top of the turntable, and adjustable bowling chutes for directing disc-shaped game pieces onto the playing surface of the turntable. The turntable rotates in one direction while the deflection member rotates in the opposite direction with an eccentric motion sweeping the playing surface of the turntable. The playing pieces are bowled down the chutes at angles selected by the players to strike the faces of the deflection member and/or to be deposited directly on the playing surface of the turntable. The object of the game is for each player to deposit as many of his playing pieces as possible in selected target compartments adjacent the rotating turntable.

  • Patent number: 4056896
Abstract: A toy bird having a housing, within the housing are two sheaves mounted to a common shaft for rotation together, one of the sheaves having a larger inside diameter that the other, a first wing and a second wing disposed outside the housing, each wing being provided with a tang that passes through an opening provided in the housing and which is mounted for rotation within the housing independently of the other tang, two resilient cords, each cord passing through a separate opening provided in the housing and attached to one of the sheaves, the cord passing through the opening on the upper section of the housing being attached to the sheave having the smaller inside diameter so that when each cord is pulled with approximately equal force the housing moves towards the end of the cord attached to the sheave having the smaller inside diameter, a shaft positioned off-center to the shaft attached to the two sheaves and passing through openings provided in the tang members causing its tang members to move when the sh

  • Patent number: 4050183
Abstract: A coin toy is disclosed wherein a replica of a large mouth and a tongue are mechanically actuated to receive a coin tossed by a coin holding lever, which is manually set. The mechanism provides for a suction cup attached to a coin holding lever, both of which are mounted on a spring loadedactuation plate. When the coin holding lever is manually depressed and set, the suction cup holds to a fixed attraction plate until spring loading forces overcome the suction forces and cause the coin holding arm and the actuation plate to rapidly return to their upward positions. The rapid returning of the plate and the coin holding lever causes the mouth to open, and the tongue to extend therefrom to receive a coin which is thrown from the coin holding lever.

  • Patent number: 4047325
Abstract: A baton twirling doll having a torso, arms, legs, and a head which are all connected so as to simulate the human body can be connected to a support structure used to provide power to move one or more parts of the body with respect to other parts of the body. The support structure used includes a wheeled platform and a support member extending from the platform to the torso of the doll. A mechanical drive is connected to the wheels of the platform so as to be operated when the platform is rolled along a surface. This drive is connected with a motion transmitting structure within the torso of the doll for moving at least one part of the doll relative to the remainder of the doll. Preferably the doll is constructed so that a hand on one of the arms of the doll is rotated as the arm holding this hand is rotated and so that the legs of the doll are moved to simulate normal leg movement as the wheeled platform is moved along a surface.

  • Patent number: 4040206
Abstract: A doll which is at least partially articulated having a leg and a rod extending through said leg for use in transmitting motion to at least one articulated part of the doll can be mounted on a base through the use of cooperating parts on the base and the leg. Such cooperating parts hold the leg so that the doll can either be rotated about an axis or held in a fixed position. With the doll the rod is rotatably mounted in the leg and is connected by a coupling structure to a drive structure which is located on the base. An adjustment structure is provided on the base for controlling the operation of the cooperating parts so that the doll can either be rotated about an axis as indicated or can be held in a fixed position. In both of these positions the drive means can be utilized to rotate the rod. When the rod is rotated as the leg is held against rotation at least one articulated part of the doll is moved.

  • Patent number: 4015346
Abstract: A machine for use in teaching the manner in which a clock indicates time appearing more or less as a simulated clock can be constructed so as to utilize a support or housing holding a simulated clock face. Concentric shafts extending through the clock's face are used in conjunction with a mechanical structure for transmitting motion to couple simulated clock hands on the shafts with readout wheels. These wheels are rotatably mounted in the support behind windows through which limited portions of the wheels can be viewed. These windows are normally covered by covers capable of being moved so as to display the portions of the wheels behind them. The wheels are provided with numbers corresponding to positions of the clock hands capable of being viewed through these windows when the covers are lifted. Mechanical structures are employed for the purpose of advancing the clock hands and for the purpose of lifting the covers.
