Patents Assigned to Toshiba Elevator Kabushiki Kaisha
  • Patent number: 7413055
Abstract: In an elevator, a drive device, a traction sheave, and a weight-side stop portion are arranged above one of a pair of left and right cage-side guide rails, and a cage-side stop portion and speed governor are arranged above the other cage-side guide rail. A wide workspace is realized in the middle of the floor of the machinery chamber, since the control panel is arranged along the middle of the inside wall surface of the front face of the machinery chamber. Furthermore, provision of an additional supporting beam mounted in the building is unnecessary, since the machine beam can extend fully in the forwards/rearwards direction in the interior of the machinery chamber.

  • Patent number: 7404476
Abstract: An escalator, having a pair of balustrades disposed on both sides of traveling steps, includes a balustrade end, a skirt end portion, and an indicator. The balustrade end is configured to turn back a handrail belt wound around each of the balustrades. The skirt end portion has a belt entrance port configured to receive the handrail belt, and an outer edge of the skirt end portion furthest away from the traveling steps extends further in an axial direction of the traveling steps than an inner edge of the skirt end portion closest to the traveling steps to guide items towards the traveling steps. The indicator is configured to indicate operating conditions of the escalator. A front face of the skirt end portion includes an inclined surface at a predetermined angle with a vertical plane. A display face of the indicator conforms to the inclination of the inclined surface.

  • Patent number: 7401691
Abstract: A mountainous or valley-shaped curved part 13 is provided in a part of a footstep guide rail 3 for guiding a movement of footstep rollers 5 linked by a footstep chain 7, the part being positioned in the vicinity of a drive sprocket 9. Consequently, owing to meshing of the footstep rollers 5 with the drive sprocket 9, an unevenness in velocity of the footstep rollers 5 is absorbed by the curved part 13, so that a moving velocity of the footstep rollers 5 moving on the downstream of the curved part 13 is maintained constantly, suppressing vibrating of the footsteps 4.

  • Publication number: 20080116035
Abstract: In a passenger conveyor according to the present invention, an inlet safety device, an operation device, an operation condition display device, and a passenger detecting device are all received in a end-deck cover at an end of a balustrade panel. Thus, the passenger conveyor is excellent in design because of a simple appearance of a platform and a vicinity thereof. Since an inclined surface of the end-deck cover on which a display part of the operation condition display device is disposed is inclined to face an upper side of a center part of the platform, an observability by a passenger of the display part of the operation condition display device can be exceedingly enhanced.

  • Publication number: 20080110701
Abstract: An elevator includes guide rails (2) laid in an elevator shaft vertically, an elevator car (3) moving up and down along the guide rails, guiding units (6) provided on the elevator car for guiding it, the guiding unit having a magnet unit including cores (11) and coils (12) forming electromagnets to generate a magnetic force against the guide rail through an air gap and a controller (21) for controlling the magnetic force by maneuvering an exciting current for exciting the electromagnets. The controller (21) controls the magnetic force so as to make the guiding units in non-contact with the guide rails when the elevator car is traveling and brings the guiding units into contact with the guide rails when the elevator car is stopped, so that the guiding units attract and fix the guide rails while the elevator car is stopped.

  • Patent number: 7357041
Abstract: Torque ripple of a motor due to a rotation detection device is reduced. A periodicity gain multiplier 51 multiplies the rotation angle ? of a detection target by a ripple periodic number m per rotation of the detection target. An adder 53 adds a phase adjusting value “?” from a phase adjustor 49 to the value “m?”. The value “sin(m?+?)”, which is calculated by a sine calculator 55, is multiplied by a predetermined gain G by an amplitude adjustor 57 and by the angular velocity ? of the detection target by a multiplier 59. A subtractor 61 subtracts the output of the multiplier 59 from the value “?” and outputs “?(1?G sin(m?+?))”. The output of the subtractor 61 and the output “m?+?” of the adder 53 are input to the phase adjustor 49 and amplitude adjustor 57. The phase adjustor 49 calculates the phase adjusting value “?” based on the summation of the derivative values of the outputs from the subtractor 61 sampled for each “?/2” of the output from the adder 53.

  • Patent number: 7350623
Abstract: An elevator door apparatus includes an engaging device which engages car doors with hall doors. The engaging device uses a spring unit to urge a movable vane provided in each of the car doors. While the doors are moving, engaging rollers supported by the hall doors are sandwiched between the movable vane and a fixed vane. Thus, the driving forces of the car doors are transmitted to the hall doors. When the hall doors reach a door stop position, the movable vane is moved away from the fixed vane. Thus, the car doors are disengaged from the hall doors. At this time, a direction in which the elastic force of the spring mechanism acts is switched. Consequently, the car doors and the hall doors are stably held so that the car doors remain disengaged from the hall doors.

  • Patent number: 7267203
Abstract: In an elevator system having an elevator control unit and an atmospheric pressure control unit, an elevator operation state monitor monitors the operation state of the elevator control unit, and an atmospheric pressure control state monitor monitors the operation state of the atmospheric pressure control unit. When a trouble in the elevator operation or atmospheric pressure control is detected, a minor/major trouble judgment unit judges the seriousness level of the trouble, and a rescue mode selector selects a rescue mode. In this case, when the atmospheric pressure control is abnormal, it is judged a major trouble, and a mode to ensure ventilation in an elevator car is selected. This enhances the safety in a highly airtight elevator such as a superhigh-speed high-rise elevator.
