Abstract: Handrail drive belts (20A, 20B, 20C, 120A, 120B) are respectively driven in circulatory fashion within a railing (5) by drive force respectively extracted from step sprocket gears (2a, 2b) and a step chain. The handrail drive belts (20A, 20B, 20C, 120A, 120B) transmit drive force to a handrail belt (10, 110) by contacting the inner peripheral surface of the handrail belt (10, 110) at respectively different locations. In this way, the load on the handrail belt in a passenger conveyor of long travel is reduced.

  • Patent number: 7178638
Abstract: A car door apparatus of an elevator includes a pair of door panels, a door drive device, and a door-opening mechanism. The pair of door panels open and close a doorway of the car of the elevator. The door drive device drives the door panels to open and close the doorway using electric power. When the car is stopped in an emergency in which a power source for driving the elevator is shut off, the door-opening mechanism starts up the door drive device using a secondary battery to move the door panels in the opening direction by a predetermined distance respectively to make a predetermined clearance between the door panels.

  • Patent number: 7164251
Abstract: A vibration controller controls vibrations generated in a driven object included in a system subject to vibrations due to the dynamic unbalance or eccentricity of a rotating member driven for rotation by an electric motor. An angular position transforming unit (45) and an angular velocity transforming unit (47) transform the output signal of a rotating motion measuring means (C1) into an angular position and an angular velocity, respectively. A sine calculating unit (55) calculates the sine of an angle obtained by adding up the angular position and a predetermined phase angle provided by a phase adjusting unit (49) by an adder (53). A multiplier (61) calculates the product of the output of a gain adjusting unit (57) that multiplies the output of the sine calculating unit (55) by a predetermined gain and the output of a multiplier (59) that calculates the square of the angular velocity. Again adjusting unit (57?) multiplies the output of a sine calculating unit (55?) by a predetermined gain.

Abstract: A mountainous or valley-shaped curved part 13 is provided in a part of a footstep guide rail 3 for guiding a movement of footstep rollers 5 linked by a footstep chain 7, the part being positioned in the vicinity of a drive sprocket 9. Consequently, owing to meshing of the footstep rollers 5 with the drive sprocket 9, an unevenness in velocity of the footstep rollers 5 is absorbed by the curved part 13, so that a moving velocity of the footstep rollers 5 moving on the downstream of the curved part 13 is maintained constantly, suppressing vibrating of the footsteps 4.

  • Patent number: 7147085
Abstract: There is provided a display system for an elevator which can display an operating state of an elevator car without a sense of discomfort even though data transmission performance is not improved. Data concerning an operating state of an elevator car is transmitted from an elevator control device to an information display device set in the elevator car or the like through a transmission cable. At this time, the information display device side infers the next data which should be displayed in synchronization with an operation of the elevator car. As a result, even if data transfer from the elevator control device is delayed at the time of a high-speed operation, the inferred data can be used to display an operating state of the elevator car without a sense of discomfort.

  • Patent number: 7147087
Abstract: An elevator is provided to prevent a tail cord from being projected out of a tail-cord duct under the influence of air current flowing in the tail-cord duct. The tail-cord duct is formed along an elevating space in which a passenger car moves up and down. The tail-cord duct is provided, along the elevating space, with an opening that opens it. An arm part fixed to the passenger car is introduced into the tail-cord duct. In the tail-cord duct, a tail cord is suspended from the arm part. In plan view of the tail-cord duct, a portion of the arm part for suspending the tail cord is shifted from the opening in a duct-width direction of the duct.

  • Patent number: 7017714
Abstract: There is provided a double-deck elevator which does not cause any impacts or vibrations on each cage when adjusting the spacing in the vertical direction between upper and lower cages. Loads on an upper support beam from right and left support arms for hoisting and supporting the upper cage are measured by right and left upper measuring units. Similarly, loads on a lower support beam from right and left support arms for hoisting and supporting the lower cage are measured by right and left lower measuring units. Because the magnitude of the loads on the right and left screw shafts can be obtained correctly, any impacts or vibrations caused on each cage can be prevented when adjusting the spacing in the vertical direction by correctly controlling the drive torque output from right and left drive motors.

Abstract: In an elevator system having an elevator control unit and an atmospheric pressure control unit, an elevator operation state monitor monitors the operation state of the elevator control unit, and an atmospheric pressure control state monitor monitors the operation state of the atmospheric pressure control unit. When a trouble in the elevator operation or atmospheric pressure control is detected, a minor/major trouble judgment unit judges the seriousness level of the trouble, and a rescue mode selector selects a rescue mode. In this case, when the atmospheric pressure control is abnormal, it is judged a major trouble, and a mode to ensure ventilation in an elevator car is selected. This enhances the safety in a highly airtight elevator such as a superhigh-speed high-rise elevator.
