    Abstract: A polyether having molecular weight from 1,000 to 50,000, end-blocked with hydrolyzable silyl groups and represented by the general formula (P): ##STR1## where R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.6 and R.sup.7 individually represent a divalent hydrocarbon group, R.sup.4 represents a monovalent hydrocarbon group, R.sup.8 represents an alkyl group with 1 to 6 carbon atoms, a represents a number from 1 to 3, m represents a number from 10 to 500, n represents a number of 1 or greater and --N.dbd.X.dbd.N-- represents a residue group of a diimino heterocyclic compound, from which nitrogen-bonded hydrogen atoms are eliminated, said diimino heterocyclic compound having no ##STR2## bond in a molecule is produced and utilized in room temperature curing compositions containing inorganic filler and curing catalyst. There is also disclosed a method for producing the above polyether by reacting polyoxyalkylene end-blocked with epoxy groups, diimino heterocyclic compound and organo silicon compound.

    Abstract: In a process for producing an alkoxysilane represented by general formula (III):(CH.sub.3).sub.a H.sub.b Si(OR).sub.c Cl.sub.4-(a+b+c) (III)wherein a represents a number of 0 to 2, b represents a number of 1 to 3, c represents a number of 0 to 2, the sum of a+b+c represents a number of not greater than 4 which comprises reacting a chlorosilane represented by general formula (I):(CH.sub.3).sub.a H.sub.b SiCl.sub.4-(a+b) (I)wherein a and b have the same meanings as described above and a+b represents a number of less than 4, with an alcohol represented by general formula (II);ROH (II)wherein R represents an alkyl group, a process for producing said alkoxysilanes characterized in that the reaction of the chlorosilane and the alcohol is performed in the co-presence of (a) an inert low boiling solvent having a boiling point lower than the boiling point of the objective alkoxysilane represented by general formula (III) and a difference in boiling point is not smaller than 4.degree. C.

    Abstract: A composition for forming a release coating comprises:(A) 100 parts by weight of a polyorganoborosiloxane having an average composition represented by formula I:R.sub.a SiO.sub.(4-a)/2 .multidot.(BO.sub.1.5).sub.b (I)wherein R is a substituted or unsubstituted monovalent hydrocarbon group bonded to a silicon atom, a is a number between 1.8 and 2.2, and b is a positive number, and containing at least 30 ppm by weight of boron atoms in the form of .tbd.Si--O--B.dbd. linkages, each molecule thereof containing at least two alkenyl groups bonded to a silicon atom;(B) a polyorganohydrogensiloxane containing in each molecule at least three hydrogen atoms bonded to silicon atoms in an amount of 0.5 to 10 hydrogen atoms for each of the alkenyl groups in component (A); and(C) a catalytic amount of a curing catalyst selected from the group consisting of platinum and platinum compounds.

    Abstract: An addition curable polyorganosiloxane composition is stabilized against premature cure at room temperature by the presence of one or more compounds selected from the group consisting of (i) a silane compound represented by the following general formula:(R.sup.4).sub.n Si(OR.sup.5).sub.4-nin which R.sup.4 represents a member selected from the group consisting of a hydrogen atom and a substituted or unsubstituted monovalent hydrocarbon group; R.sup.5 represents a substituted or unsubstituted monovalent hydrocarbon group containing a --C.tbd.C-- bond; "n" represents an integer of from 1 to 3; and at least one member selected from the group consisting of Si--H, Si--CH.dbd.CH.sub.2 and Si--C.tbd.CH bonds is contained in the molecule and (ii) an organosilane compound obtainable by subjecting the above silane compound to addition reaction between Si-H and --C.tbd.C-- bonds contained therein.The composition is highly stable at room temperature and can be stored for extended periods of time.
