Abstract: To detect files which are generated unnecessarily or no longer required, and for reliable file versioning, in a batch-processing-oriented environment, a dynamic batch processing system is proposed. The system includes a batch processing control component to process batch processing control instructions, which include the call of at least one program, and a database with files, each of which has a physical file name. The system also includes a component to provide program-related file definition information, which defines the files which are required for a program run by abstract selection criteria. In a file register, the physical file names of the files which are created for the program runs are registered in the form of register entries, which associate at least one selection attribute with each physical file name. A service component which communicates with the control component has access to the file register and the file definition component.

Abstract: A system is provided for tracking employee disclosure information and includes an employee database for storing employee status information. Also included is a previous disclosure database for storing any previous disclosures provided by the employee. Finally, a disclosure engine is included for determining disclosure requirements for the employee based on the employee status information. The disclosure engine also receives from the previous disclosure database the any previous disclosures provided by the employee for determining any additional disclosure required by the employee to satisfy the disclosure requirements. The disclosure engine also forwards to the employee a disclosure form for providing the additional disclosure.

Abstract: The invention relates to a computer system and a method for managing a financial transaction between an issuer of a note and an investor buying the note, wherein the note is exchanged into one or more exchange traded items of the issuer's portfolio. The computer system comprises an index database for storing data relating to a specific time varying benchmark index, an item database for storing data relating to the exchange traded items to be exchanged, a calculating unit for calculating an exchange ratio between the note and at least one exchange traded item to be delivered to the investor based on at least a current level of the benchmark index and a current price of the at least one exchange traded item, and a transaction unit for delivering at least one exchange traded item in accordance with the exchange ratio to the investor upon an exchange request of either the issuer or the investor or upon maturity of the note.

Abstract: A method for configuring a transaction-based host environment for migration to a new system platform is described. The method comprises the steps of providing at least one database of a first type and at least one database of a second type, which have different migration behaviour, on the previous system platform. Further provided is a first type of transaction which accesses both the first type of database and the second type of database on the previous system platform. For preparing the migration, the first type of transaction is replaced in the host environment by a second type of transaction and a third type of transaction, wherein the second type of transaction accesses only the first type of database and the third type of transaction only the second type of database. The method additionally comprises initiating transactions of the second and third type on request for a transaction of the first type from a decentralised environment.

Abstract: Embodiments of systems and methods relate to the issuing, servicing, and redeeming of investment notes that are linked to the performance of a single commodity or basket of commodities and are compliant with and tradable under Sharia principles. An exemplary method for administering an investment note compliant with Sharia principles involves establishing an agency contract between an agent and a trustee wherein the agent acts on behalf of the trustee and the trustee acts on behalf of the investor, establishing a unilateral purchase agreement between the agent and the issuer under which the issuer promises to buy commodities from the agent, and purchasing, by the agent, a commodity such that the agent holds title to the commodity on behalf of the trustee.

Abstract: A template-driven system for generating platform-specific artifacts, such as program code, from platform-independent service models is described. The system comprises a template storage with platform-specific templates, each template including platform-specific model transformation information; a repository with a plurality of at least essentially platform-independent service model elements and one or more service models modeled from the model elements; and a generator adapted to generate platform-specific artifacts by applying the transformation information included in the templates to the service models.

Abstract: Systems and methods for securely providing email messages are provided. A workstation computer is provided that includes a memory for storing computer executable instructions and a processor for accessing the memory and for executing the computer executable instructions. The computer executable instructions includes an email client configured to process email messages, at least one email message having an executable decryption attachment that includes encrypted embedded content that can only be decrypted with a unique cryptography key. The executable decryption attachment, when executed, is configured to establish a secure connection with an encryption server, receive the unique cryptography key from the encryption server and decrypt the embedded content.

Abstract: The system and method of the preferred embodiment supports trading of securities over the Internet both on national exchanges and outside the national exchanges. The preferred embodiment supports an improved human interface and a continuous display of real-time stock quotes on the user's computer screen. The ergonomic graphical user interface (GUI) of the preferred embodiment includes several functional benefits in comparison with existing on-line consumer trading systems. In the preferred embodiment, the users are subscribers to a securities trading service offered over the Internet. Preferably, each subscriber to this service is simultaneously connected from his own computer to a first system which provides user-to-user trading capabilities and to a second system which is a broker/dealer system of his/her choice. The system providing the user-to-user trading services preferably includes a root server and a hierarchical network of replicated servers supporting replicated databases.

Accesses by work units are carried out on the first database from an application workstation, to generate, change or delete contents of the database. A plurality of configuration items are stored with each comprising a plurality of verification commands capable of being executed by a verification scanning engine executing a verification scan on a target server to compare a set of actual software or configuration settings of the software against a desired software stack.
