    Abstract: EstATII is an esterase that a halotolerant, thermophilic and resistant to a spectrum of heavy metals including toxic concentration of metals. It was isolated from the lowest convective layer of the Atlantis II Red Sea brine pool. The Atlantis II brine pool is an extreme environment that possesses multiple harsh conditions such as; high temperature, salinity, pH and high concentration of metals, including toxic heavy metals. A fosmid metagenomic library using DNA isolated from the lowest convective layer this pool was used to identify EstATII. Polynucleotides encoding EstATII and similar esterases are disclosed and can be used to make EstATII. EstATII or compositions or apparatuses that contain it may be used in various processes employing lipases/esterases especially when these processes are performed under harsh conditions that inactivate other kinds of lipases or esterases.

    Abstract: A system for providing a fine-grained indoor location-based social network (LBSN), the invention leverages the crowd-sensed data collected from a plurality of users' mobile devices during the check-in operation and knowledge extracted from current LBSNs to associate a place with its name and semantic fingerprint. This semantic fingerprint is used to obtain a more accurate list of nearby places as well as automatically detect new places with similar signatures.     Abstract: The invention involves a vibrating inclined plate box settlement separator, which is used for the liquid-solid separation, particularly applicable to high-efficiency settling concentration and separation of solid particles from liquid or water.     Abstract: A cylindrical-shaped nanotube FET may be manufactured on silicon (Si) substrates as a ring etched into a gate stack and filled with semiconductor material. An inner gate electrode couples to a region of the gate stack inside the inner circumference of the ring. An outer gate electrode couples to a region of the gate stack outside the outer circumference of the ring. The multi-gate cylindrical-shaped nanotube FET operates in volume inversion for ring widths below 15 nanometers. The cylindrical-shaped nanotube FET demonstrates better short channel effect (SCE) mitigation and higher performance (Ion/Ioff) than conventional transistor devices. The cylindrical-shaped nanotube FET may also be manufactured with higher yields and cheaper costs than conventional transistors.

The Ti(C,N)-based cermets are prepared by raw materials subjected to ball-mill mixing, die forming, vacuum degreasing and vacuum sintering, wherein weight percentage of each chemical component of the raw materials is as follows: TiC 34.2˜43%, TiN 8˜15%, Mo 10˜15%, WC 5˜10%, graphite 0.8˜1.0%, Ni 20˜24%, and Ni3Al powder containing B 6˜10%. Ni powder and Ni3Al powder containing B are used as binder. The Ti(C,N)-based cermets feature in excellent corrosion resistance, oxidation resistance and mechanical properties at high temperature, has a hardness of 89.0˜91.9 HRA, a room temperature bending strength of 1600 MPa or more, and a fracture toughness of 14 MPa·m1/2 or more, and is applicable for manufacturing high-speed cutting tools, dies and heat-resisting and corrosion-resisting components.

    Abstract: A process for manufacturing low-profile and flexible integrated circuits includes manufacturing an integrated circuit on a wafer having a thickness larger than the desired thickness. After the integrated circuit is manufactured the integrated circuit may be released with a portion of the wafer leaving a remainder of the bulk portion of the wafer. A second integrated circuit may be manufactured on the remainder of the wafer and the process repeated to manufacture additional integrated circuits from a single wafer. The integrated circuits may be released from the wafer by etching vias through the integrated circuit and into the wafer. The via may be used to start an etch process inside the wafer that undercuts the integrated circuit separating the integrated circuit from the wafer.

The first processor sends a digital signal to the first laser diode. The second laser diode converts the optical signal back to the digital signal, and sends the digital signal to the second processor to generate an identification signal of the client. The identification signal is transmitted to the communication office via the second laser diode.

The PNT is then melt-blended with a low-density polyethylene (LDPE) in the presence of a compatibilizer to produce the hot-melt adhesive that can be shaped into films having a high light transmittance, good mechanical properties, high heat and yellowing resistance and thus particularly suitable for use in solar cell bus bars.
