Abstract: A conductive thin film device includes a substrate and a thin film structure applied to the substrate. The thin film structure is applied as a first layer and forms a one-dimensional nanomaterial networked layer deposited on the substrate. A coating layer overlays the one-dimensional nanomaterial networked layer and can be made from graphene or graphene oxide. The coating layer at least partially covers the nanomaterial networked layer, thereby forming the device as a double-layer structure.

Abstract: Methods for rapidly determining earthquake parameters of an earthquake include inputting a seismogram of the earthquake, searching concurrently in pre-established historical seismogram database and theoretical seismogram database by use of an approximate nearest neighbor search method, to find a set of seismograms similar to the input seismogram according to a preset similarity condition, and determining from the set of similar seismograms one or more seismograms matched with the input seismogram, and determining the earthquake parameters from the matched seismograms. With the present invention, it is possible to search in millions of seismograms and determine parameters for an earthquake in a few second, and thus realize rapid and even real-time estimation of earthquake parameters.

Abstract: The invention provides an industrial method for producing dispersion-strengthened iron-based materials at low cost and in large-scale. The industrial acid pickling waste solution is treated by spray roasting process after yttrium chloride is added. During the spray roasting process, the solution is atomized into fine droplets, the droplets are contacted with gas and dried into powders, which are heated in air to form metal oxides. The mixed powders of the metal oxides are reduced in hydrogen stream to obtain yttria dispersion-strengthened iron powders. High performance dispersion-strengthened iron materials are obtained by densifying the yttria dispersion-strengthened iron powders. The method has simple process and low cost, and is suitable for large-scale production due to the direct use of acid pickling waste solution from steel factory.

Abstract: The present invention provides a novel myomegalin isoform—myomegalin variant 8 (MMG8). The myomegalin variant 8 regulates microtubule organization at the Golgi apparatus, protein modification, secretion and trafficking, and cell proliferation. The present invention also provides nucleic acid molecules encoding the myomegalin isoforms, and vectors and host cells containing the nucleic acid molecules. Also provided are fusion constructs comprising the myomegalin isoform and antibodies that bind specifically to the myomegalin isoforms of the present invention. The present invention further provides uses of the myomegalin isoform as a diagnostic biomarker and as a target for screening for therapeutics for diseases such as cancer, diabetes, and lysosomal storage diseases.
