    Abstract: Methods and arrays for identifying the cell or tissue origin of DNA are provided. Accordingly there is provided a method of identifying DNA having a methylation pattern distinctive of a cell or tissue type or state comprising: labeling an epigenetic modification of interest in a DNA sample with a label; contacting said sample on an array comprising a plurality of probes for said DNA under conditions which allow specific hybridization between said plurality of probes and said DNA; and detecting said hybridization, wherein an amount of said label is indicative of the cell or tissue type or state, wherein the method is effected in the absence of amplification of said DNA.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a system and method for the placement of elongate medical members within a patients body using coaptive ultrasound. In a particularly preferred embodiment, a flexible tube includes a first balloon at a distal end of the tube, and a second balloon at the distal end of the tube and positioned within the first balloon. The first and second balloons are inflatable to form one or more echogenic windows between them, which echogenic window may be detected from within a patient's body by an ultrasound probe that is external to the patient's body. Detection of such echogenic window is used to identify an acceptable location on the patient's body at which to insert a guidewire configured to receive an elongate medical member without damage to surrounding patient tissues or organs.

    Abstract: Method and apparatus for detecting in impedance change in a transmission line, such as a line in a computer bus. A CMOS-compatible time domain reflectometer circuit comprising a comparator is embedded in one or more chips and connected to the transmission line. The circuit measures the impedance inhomogeneity pattern (IIP) of the transmission line prior to use, and then repeatedly measures the HP during operation of the transmission line to detect a change in IIP, without Interfering with data transfer through the transmission line. The present invention can detect and locate wire-tapping magnetic probing or snooping, and Trojan and cold boot attacks on interconnecting buses between computer chips or integrated circuits in a computer system, such as on external memory buses.

    Abstract: New compositions of tissue-equivalent three-dimensional polymer gel dosimeters based on acrylamide (AAm), N-isopropylacrylamide (NIPAM), N-(Hydroxymethyl)acrylamide (NHMA), diacetone acrylamide (DAAM) and N-Vinylcaprolactam (NVCL) monomer with ethylene glycol co-solvent have been introduced in this invention for radiotherapy dosimetry. The dosimeter was irradiated with 6 and 15 MV linear accelerator at absorbed doses up to 10 Gy. The nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spin-spin relaxation rate (R2) for water proton surrounding polymer formation was used to investigate the degree of polymerization of the five gels. The effect of additives, dose rate, radiation energy, stability of the polymerization after irradiation, were investigated on the dose response of the gels.

    Abstract: It has been discovered that the cyclic peptide EnnA inactivates the Hsp90 chaperone pathway, but without activating an extensive heat shock response and overexpression of anti-apoptotic proteins. Mechanistically distinct, EnnA inhibits Hsp90 and destabilize PDL-1 and IDO, two major immune checkpoints mediating tumor-induced immune suppression. The provided herein show that EnnA profoundly modulates the cytokine signature of cancer cells and promotes a cytokine profile that favors an immune attack on tumor cells. This translates into highly efficacious anti-tumor activity in vivo, which, when combined with a single dose of chemotherapy, completely reduced the tumor burden in experimental animals and instilled highly efficient immune memory against the primary tumor.
