    Abstract: A method of purifying an antifreeze protein (AFP) and methods of producing AFPs are disclosed. The method of purifying an AFP includes heating a crude AFP in an aqueous medium to a temperature and for a length of time sufficient to precipitate at least some thermally unstable proteins in the crude AFP and form a precipitate and a supernatant; and removing the precipitate from the supernatant. One method of producing an AFP includes collecting a crude source of the AFP; and purifying the AFP by the purification method. Another method of producing an AFP includes growing or culturing a host configured to express a recombinant AFP in a growth medium, and collecting a crude AFP from the host and/or the growth medium. The growth medium comprises water, a protein hydrolysate or other source of amino acids, a yeast extract, a biologically metabolizable C3-C6 polyol, and one or more phosphate salts.

    Abstract: A method of determining a cell cycle stage distribution of cells includes the steps of providing a cell sample; pre-treating the cell sample with a solvent; mixing the pre-treated cell sample with a matrix solution to obtain a mixture solution; depositing the mixture solution on a sample plate; obtaining a mass spectrum analysis of the deposited mixture solution; and identifying at least two marker peaks from the mass spectrum analysis, wherein a ratio between the marker peaks provides information about a cell cycle stage distribution of the cell sample, wherein the mass spectrum analysis is a matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight mass spectrum test.

The preparation method is as follows: adding an epoxy silane coupling agent into an organic solvent; after stirring and mixing well, adding an amine curing agent and distilled water to the mixture; stirring and adding micron-sized solid particles and hydrophobic nano silicon dioxide particles; continuing stirring to obtain a hydrophilic layer solution; adding a hydrophobic modifier and a hydrophilic nano silicon dioxide particles into the solvent to obtain a hydrophobic layer solution; coating a pretreated substrate surface with the hydrophilic layer solution, and performing heating treatment at 60° C. to 80° C. for 10-50 min; then coating the surface with the hydrophobic layer solution, and performing heating treatment at 100° C. to 140° C.

The water storage tank is located below a lower-cylinder water outlet pipe. The liquid pump can deliver a liquid in the water storage tank to the electrostatic atomization nozzle. Measurement data of the ammeter is acquired and processed by a computer in real time.

The AC-DC converter described herein provides a new circuit topology for single-stage, single-phase or multi-phase AC-DC power conversion with power factor correction (PFC) and galvanic isolation using a high-frequency isolation transformer. The AC-DC converter improves power conversion efficiency and power density—two of the most important metrics for a power converter. It achieves soft switching for high frequency switches in the circuit, leading to higher efficiency and lower electromagnetic interference (EMI).
