Abstract: This invention relates to peer-to-peer transparent clocks and methods of estimating skew in peer-to-peer transparent clocks. Abstract: This system and method provide for manufacturing a multi-material hybrid structure comprising a single- or multi-layer sheet or tube, which are made of metals, fabrics, polymer and their combinations, and at least one layer or body made of formed resin. The methods include a simultaneous forming-injection process that followed with an additional sequence to initiate the forming process along with curing and/or solidification and/or bonding processes. The additional sequence provides a pressure drop inside the cavity using tool movement and or additional deformation of one/or several layers of the sheet using any fluid pressure, suction and/or electromagnetic force. The injection process can be used for any kind of synthetic or bio-based resin with or without fiber reinforcement. It is also integrated with supercritical assisted technology.
Abstract: A hybrid propulsion system includes a housing, at least two electrodes, a solid-grain fuel material, a combustion chamber, an oxidizer port, and a nozzle. The housing has a first end and a second end and defines a cavity. The electrodes extend into the cavity. The fuel material is free of an oxidizer and is positioned in the cavity. The fuel material has a combustion surface and is exposed to the electrodes. The combustion chamber is defined between the combustion surface and the second end. The oxidizer port provides a flow of oxidizer to the combustion chamber. The nozzle is positioned at the second end. Combustion of the fuel material in the combustion chamber may be dominated by radiative heat transfer. Combustion of the fuel material in the combustion chamber may generate thrust of no more than 5 N at an oxidizer flow rate of no more than 5 g/s.

Abstract: A method is disclosed for making palatable methionine-restricted foods, to deliver a methionine-restricted diet to human or veterinary patients. A protein or a food product containing protein is partially oxidized, preferably with ozone, to oxidize nearly all of the methionine and cysteine. After oxidation, tryptophan and lysine are optionally added back since they tend to be oxidized also. Optionally, a small amount of methionine is also added back so that the final methionine is within a preferred range of about 0.85 to about 1.8 gram methionine per 100 gram total protein, preferably about 1.2 gram per 100 gram total protein.

Abstract: A combination of three well-known and FDA approved compounds has been discovered to significantly suppress the proliferation of pancreatic cancer cells in clinically relevant models of pancreatic cancer. Embodiments of the invention include compositions of matter comprising a combination of agents such as metformin, simvastatin, and digoxin as well as methods of treating cancers using such agents. Abstract: The invention provides a process for depositing a coating onto particles being pneumatically transported in a tube. The process comprising the steps of providing a tube having an inlet opening and an outlet opening; feeding a carrier gas entraining particles into the tube at or near the inlet opening of the tube to create a particle flow through the tube; and injecting a first self-terminating reactant into the tube via at least one injection point downstream from the inlet opening of the tube for reaction with the particles in the particle flow. The process is suitable for atomic layer deposition and molecular layer deposition. An apparatus for carrying out the process is also disclosed.
