Abstract: The present invention relates to methods of determining if a subject has a decreased risk of suffering from future memory impairment. The methods comprise analyzing at least one plasma sample from the subject to determine a value of the subject's metabolite profile and comparing the value of the subject's metabolite profile with the value of a normal metabolite profile. A change in the value of the subject's metabolite profile, over normal values is indicative that the subject has a decreased risk of suffering from future memory impairment compared to a normal individual.

Abstract: In a wireless communication system, a transmitter sends a signal in the form of a number of channel blocks, onto some of which is superimposed an authentication signal. A receiver then uses probabilistic methods that take channel fading into account to determine how many blocks include the authorization signal, and then compares this number with a threshold value. This information may then be used by the transmitter to adjust transmission power.
Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide a novel therapeutic or preventive agent for human T cell leukemia virus type-1 associated myelopathy (HAM) containing an anti-human CC-chemokine receptor 4 (CCR4) antibody or an antibody fragment thereof as an active ingredient, and characterized by the administration and dosage of the antibody or the antibody fragment thereof. The present invention relates to a therapeutic or preventative agent for HAM characterized in that an anti-human CCR4 antibody or an antibody fragment thereof is contained as an active ingredient and the antibody or the antibody fragment thereof is administered at a low dose.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable media for context-aware synthesis for video frame interpolation are provided. A convolutional neural network (ConvNet) may, given two input video or image frames, interpolate a frame temporarily in the middle of the two input frames by combining motion estimation and pixel synthesis into a single step and formulating pixel interpolation as a local convolution over patches in the input images. The ConvNet may estimate a convolution kernel based on a first receptive field patch of a first input image frame and a second receptive field patch of a second input image frame. The ConvNet may then convolve the convolutional kernel over a first pixel patch of the first input image frame and a second pixel patch of the second input image frame to obtain color data of an output pixel of the interpolation frame. Other embodiments may be described and/or claimed.
Abstract: Provided is an apparatus for generating data based on generative adversarial networks (GANs), the apparatus including a first generator configured to receive input data and generate a first fake image and a first discriminator configured to receive the first fake image generated by the first generator and a first real image and verify whether an image is fake or real.

Abstract: An autonomous vehicle can plan a path of the autonomous vehicle at an intersection where cyclists are also present. The autonomous vehicle includes an imaging device and processing circuitry configured to receive information from the imaging device and then identify a position of a cyclist in a traffic intersection based on the information from the imaging device. Additionally, a future path of the cyclist is predicted based on the position of the cyclist in the traffic intersection and a path of the autonomous vehicle is planned based on the predicted future path of the cyclist. Further, it can be determine if the cyclist followed the predicted future path, and the planned path of the autonomous vehicle is updated in response to the cyclist not following the predicted future path.
