    Abstract: The ultra-wideband unipole antenna is a variant on a monocone antenna, including a plurality of electrically conductive rods that act as a parallel inductive-capacitive (L-C) network for improving the impedance match between the radiating element of the antenna and the antenna's feed. An electrically conductive conical surface having a vertex end and a base end acts as the radiating element. The vertex end is positioned adjacent to, and spaced apart from, a ground plane plate. Each electrically conductive rod has opposed first and second ends, the first end being secured to the electrically conductive conical surface, and the second end being secured to the ground plane plate. A coaxial cable feed line has a center conductor and an outer conductor. The center conductor is in electrical communication with the vertex end of the electrically conductive conical surface, and the outer conductor is in electrical communication with the ground plane plate.

A set of modification profiles associated with the user may be generated based on the feedback, where each modification profile of the set (i) is associated with eye-related characteristics and (ii) includes modification parameters to be applied to an image to modify the image for the user when eye-related characteristics of the user matches the associated eye-related characteristics.

A partitioner extends through the pathway of the catheter, the partitioner being rotatable within the catheter and including one or more lumens that provide an orifice from a first end of the partitioner to a second end of the partitioner. The device further includes a first coil extending through the partitioner from the first end to the second end in a first lumen and a second coil extending through the partitioner from the first end to the second end in a second lumen. The first and second lumens may be fully circumscribed by the partitioner and have first and second diameters, respectively.

The fiber is fed through a localized heating site having a heating site temperature, T, that is above a melting temperature of the fiber core, with a feed speed, ?f, that melts a portion of the fiber core at the heating site, causing molten droplets to pinch off of fiber core material, one droplet at a time, with a time period of molten droplet formation set by the fiber feed speed, ?f. The fiber is fed through the localized heating site to move the molten droplets out of the heating site and solidify the molten droplets into solid in-fiber particles.

The magnetic members may be magnetostrictive sensors and may include a biorecognition element to bind with a target microorganism. A method for fluid filtration includes coupling the electromagnetic filter between a fluid source and a fluid destination, energizing the solenoids of each electromagnetic filter elements, and flowing a fluid media through the transfer pipe of the electromagnetic filter. The fluid media may be liquid food such as fruit juice. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

    Abstract: A photobioreactor system includes vessel for containing a biomass and a plurality of illuminators which may have solid state devices embedded therein or coupled thereto. The light energy is distributed in the vessel volume by the illuminators so as to reach substantially all of the biomass being circulated in the vessel. Biomass may exit the top of the vessel and be refreshed with nutrients and liquid before being reintroduced at the bottom of the vessel. Carbon dioxide is introduced at the bottom of the vessel. The biomass may be agitated either ultrasonically or by motion of the illuminators. A source of energy for the light sources may be solar panels with battery storage and the carbon dioxide may be a byproduct of thermal power generation.
