Abstract: Provided is a method for regenerating an aromatic amide compound into a corresponding aromatic nitrile compound, the method realizing a dehydration reaction of providing a target compound selectively at a high yield with generation of a by-product being suppressed. Also provided is a method for producing an aromatic nitrile compound that decreases the number of steps of dehydration reaction and significantly improves the reaction speed at a pressure close to normal pressure. Furthermore, the above-described production method is applied to a carbonate ester production method to provide a method for producing carbonate ester efficiently. The above-described objects are achieved by a method for producing an aromatic nitrile compound including a dehydration reaction of dehydrating an aromatic amide compound, in which the dehydration reaction uses diphenylether.

Abstract: A system and method are described for information extraction from network traffic traces that are both encrypted and non-encrypted. The system includes a client computer and a remote computer, where the client computer communicates data over a network. The client computer sets a session key log file environment variable, such that when the client computer launches a supported browser, a session key log file (KLF) is created, computer network traffic traces are captured by retrieving data from encrypted traffic, and the KLF and captured traffic are periodically transferred to a remote server. A remote computer performs traffic mining to analyze the captured traffic traces and extract sensitive pieces of information.

Abstract: Methods are disclosed herein for efficiently generating human induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSC) containing a nucleic acid including a doxycycline promoter operably linked to a nucleic acid encoding Cas9. These methods include transfecting a human somatic cell with a nucleic acid molecule comprising a doxycycline promoter operably linked to a nucleic acid encoding a Cas9, and constitutive promoter operably linked to a tetracycline responsive element and inducing the somatic cell to form an iPSC, thereby producing an iPSC that can undergo CRISPR/Cas9-mediated recombination at a high efficiency. The human iPSC, or a cell differentiated therefrom, is cultured in the presence of doxycycline to induce expression of the Cas9. These cells can then be used to target in any gene of interest by introducing nucleic acids encoding sgRNAs. Induced pluripotent stem cells produced by these methods are also disclosed.

Abstract: Virtual redundancy for active-standby cloud applications is disclosed herein. A virtual machine (“VM”) placement scheduling system is disclosed herein. The system can compute, for each standby VM of a plurality of available standby VMs, a minimum required placement overlap delta to meet an entitlement assurance rate (“EAR”) threshold. The system can compute a minimum number of available VM slots for activating each standby VM to meet the EAR threshold. For each standby VM of a given application, the system can filter out any server of a plurality of servers that does not meet criteria. If a given server meets the criteria, the system can add the given server to a candidate list; sort, in descending order, the candidate list by the minimum required placement overlap delta and the number of available virtual machine slots; and select, from the candidate list of servers, a candidate server from atop the candidate list.
