Abstract: An embodiment of a submersible warming garment comprises a closed fluid loop including a warming conduit disposed in thermal communication with a chamber containing a catalyst and a cooling conduit disposed within a wearable garment. A pump moves the fluid through the warming conduit, where heat is gained, to the cooling conduit, where heat is surrendered to a human wearing the garment, and back to the pump. An actuated valve on a container of fuel and an actuated valve on a container of oxygen are controlled using a controller to provide a combustible mixture into the chamber where the mixture reacts in the presence of a catalytic member to generate heat and combustion by-products. The combustion by-products, including carbon dioxide and water, are one of adsorbed and absorbed by a carbon dioxide scrubber and a reusable water storage medium. A fan moves the by-products into the scrubber and water storage medium.

Abstract: An element recovery method and an element recovery apparatus are provided by which an element containing a high-purity rare earth element can be recovered at low cost. The element recovery method includes the steps of: preparing molten salt containing a rare earth element; and controlling electric potentials in a pair of electrode members at prescribed values while keeping the pair of electrode members in contact with the molten salt, thereby depositing the rare earth element existing in the molten salt on one of the pair of electrode members. In this way, as compared with the conventional wet separation method, an element such as a rare earth element that is to be recovered can be directly recovered from the molten salt in which the element is dissolved, so that the steps of the recovery method can be simplified and reduced in cost.

Abstract: This document describes a data processing system for database management. The system includes a registry management server in communication with a logical registry in a data repository. The data repository includes profile data associated with profile objects, a library of electronic instruments and a logical table including a number of logical rows corresponding to the profile objects. The registry management receives profile data from a client device, selects electronic instruments from the library, and maps the electronic instruments and profile objects by updating the logical table and indexing the logical table.
Abstract: A super-amphiphobic composite material and use of the same as an inhibitor, lubricant, reservoir protectant, and accelerator in water-based drilling fluids. A method for preparing the amphiphobic composite material includes: performing a first mixing of nano-titanium dioxide and nano-silicon dioxide in an alcohol-water mixed solvent under an alkaline condition, to obtain a dispersion of nano-titanium dioxide and nano-silicon dioxide; then introducing a fluorosilicone-containing coupler into the dispersion of nano-titanium dioxide and nano-silicon dioxide and performing a second mixing. The amphiphobic composite material may be applied in water-based drilling fluids. It has an effect of strongly inhibiting hydrated swelling and disintegration, low toxicity and high compatibility; can solve problems such as well wall instability, blockage of drilling tools, and reservoir damage, etc.

Abstract: An unsupervised behavior learning system and method for predicting anomalies in a distributed computing infrastructure. The distributed computing infrastructure includes a plurality of computer machines. The system includes a first computer machine and a second computer machine. The second computer machine is configured to generate a model of normal and anomalous behavior of the first computer machine, where the model is based on unlabeled training data. The second computer machine is also configured to acquire real-time data of system level metrics of the first machine; determine whether the real-time data is normal or anomalous based on a comparison of the real-time data to the model; and predict a future failure of the first computer machine based on multiple consecutive comparisons of the real-time data to the model.
Abstract: Recommendation systems are widely used in Internet applications. In current recommendation systems, users only play a passive role and have limited control over the recommendation generation process. As a result, there is often considerable mismatch between the recommendations made by these systems and the actual user interests, which are fine-grained and constantly evolving. With a user-powered distributed recommendation architecture, individual users can flexibly define fine-grained communities of interest in a declarative fashion and obtain recommendations accurately tailored to their interests by aggregating opinions of users in such communities. By combining a progressive sampling technique with data perturbation methods, the recommendation system is both scalable and privacy-preserving.
