Abstract: Systems and methods for articulated pose estimation are provided. Some embodiments include training a convolutional neural network for object pose estimation, which includes receiving a two-dimensional training image of an articulated object that has a plurality of components and identifying, from the two-dimensional training image, at least one key point for each of the plurality of components. Some embodiments also include testing the accuracy of the object pose estimation, which includes visualizing a three or more dimensional pose of each of the plurality of components of the articulated object from a two-dimensional testing image and providing data related to the visualization for output.

Abstract: A real time end-to-end learning system for a high frame rate video compressive sensing network is described. The slow reconstruction speed of conventional compressive sensing approaches is overcome by directly modeling an inverse mapping from compressed domain to original domain in a single forward propagation. Through processing massive unlabeled video data such a mapping is learned by a neural network using data-driven methods. Systems and methods according to this disclosure incorporate a multi-rate convolutional neural network (CNN) and a synthesizing recurrent neural network (RNN) to achieve real time compression and reconstruction of video data.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a gaze estimation method for a headset device based, on iris and pupil. In the method, only a single camera, a single infrared light source and a central calibration point which is each provided within four average regions at a screen are used, 3D modeling of the pupil and iris is performed through an extracted 2D central feature of eye movement, and a 3D gaze direction vector is established and combined with angle information of the gaze direction, so as to estimate a gaze point position of human eyes. Fully taking a characteristic of applying the headset device into account, the present invention guarantees an accuracy of the gaze point estimation in the headset device and meanwhile greatly reduces the complexity of an entire system structure and a calibration process, and provides a solution with high accuracy and little complexity for the gaze tracking in the headset device.

Abstract: Methods for improving the functionality and/or fertility of sperm, for example, by enhancing motility and/or extending the lifespan of sperm by subjecting the isolated sperm to a starvation protocol and/or ionophore are provided. Such methods may be used in, for example, artificial insemination to reduce the number of sperm needed for insemination and to improve conception rates.
Abstract: Methods of treating propionic acidemia (PA), methylmalonic acidemia (MMA) and fatty acid oxidation disorders are described. The methods include administering an anaplerotic agent that can directly enter the tricarboxylic acid cycle, such as a succinate derivative or pro-drug, for example trisuccinylglycerol (TSG). Methods of restoring tricarboxylic acid (TCA) cycle function in a cell deficient for propionyl-CoA carboxylase (PCC) or methylmalonyl-CoA mutase (MUT) by contacting the cell with a succinate derivative or pro-drug, such as TSG, are also described.
