Abstract: The present invention provides biomimetic sensor devices that utilize proteins—such G-protein coupled receptors—and are useful in high-sensitivity analysis of analyte-containing samples. These sensors may be used to determine the presence or concentration of one or more analytes in a sample. The invention also includes methods of fabricating the devices and methods of using the devices to assay samples.

Abstract: A method for controlling operation of an autonomous vehicle includes: comparing, at a remote computing system operably connected with a processor in the autonomous vehicle, a first signal indicative of an environment in which the autonomous vehicle is arranged and a second signal indicative of the environment in which the autonomous vehicle is arranged; and generating a restriction command to restrict operation of the autonomous vehicle if the comparison indicates that the first signal and the second signal do not correspond. The first signal is determined by the processor in the autonomous vehicle and the second signal is determined by the remote computing system.
Abstract: The present invention relates to glycyrrhizin-glycol chitosan conjugate-coated nanoparticles, islet cells, prepared using same, for transplantation, and an MRI imaging composition comprising same. If transplanted, the islet cells comprising the nanoparticles can suppress a post-transplantation immune response. The present invention can provide islet cells for transplantation that can be transplanted to a certain region by magnetic force induction and can be tracked by MRI.

Abstract: Li-ion battery materials, such as Li-ion cathodes, are provided that have spinels characterized by a close-packed face-centered-cubic rocksalt-type structure and spinel-like ordered TM (the TM preferably occupying one of the two octahedral sites 16c and 16d) that favor fast Li transport kinetics. Such spinels have a larger deviation from a normal spinel and have a formula. Li1+xTM2-yO4-zFz where 0.2?x?1, 0.2?y?0.6, and 0?z?0.8; and TM is Mn, Ni, Co, Al, Sc, Ti, Zr, Mg, Nb, or a mixture thereof. The spinels achieve a higher gravimetric energy density than traditional spinels while still retaining high capacity at an extremely fast charging/discharging rate.

Abstract: An apparatus is disclosed for applying a coating to a desired object including a rotatable container having at least one container wall. An electrolyte can be retained within the container, the at least one container wall made of a material that does not allow the electrolyte to pass through the at least one container wall of the container. An anode can be positioned within the container. The apparatus can include a mount for securing the desired object such that a surface of the desired object is exposed to the electrolyte. A controller can be in electrical communication with the anode and the mount, wherein when power is supplied from the controller to the anode and the mount, particles in the electrolyte are deposited on the desired object forming a composite coating.
Abstract: A prefabricated stair modular assembly mold comprises a base, a step standard module, an upside module of a lower platform, an underside rotating module of a lower platform, an upside module of an upper platform, an underside rotating module of an upper platform, an underside common module, and an underside adjustment modules. Prefabricated stair molds of different dimensions are formed by means of locating holes provided in the assembling modules, and are then fixed by means of sliding holes at two ends. Further disclosed is a mounting method for said assembly mold. Said assembly mold has high positioning accuracy, and small accumulated error, improving the mounting efficiency of the prefabricated staircase mold.

Abstract: Disclosed is a catalytic test paper prepared by compositing metal particle-embedded bacterial cellulose with plant fibers, and a preparation method therefor. Hydroxyl groups of bacterial cellulose are bonded with a nitrogen-containing or phosphorus-containing organic small molecule compound. By means of a chelation between a nitrogen or phosphorus atom with a metal, transition metal ions are adsorbed to a nanoporous surface of bacterial cellulose, and the transition metal ions are reduced in situ to obtain bacterial cellulose embedded with metal nanoparticles. The bacterial cellulose is composited with the plant fiber, and the catalytic test paper is prepared by a papermaking method. The catalytic test paper has the advantages of convenient use and recovery, high reusability, simple design, low manufacturing cost, higher catalytic efficiency, a green degradable support material, etc.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for laser cladding and forming of a metal or alloy under partial atmosphere protection. Including: transporting a metal or alloy powder beam by an inert carrier gas to move on a machined surface with a focused laser beam; and forming at least one layer of inert protective gas at the outer periphery of the metal or alloy powder beam. The inert protective gas includes first inert protective gas, and the first inert protective gas is at the outer periphery of the focused laser beam. The problems of limited size, high cost and difficulty in moving a cladding and forming system and the like during part forming are solved by forming the inert protective gas at the outer periphery of the focused laser beam. Compared with the prior art, the convenient, fast and economical method is provided for on-site part forming and repair.

Abstract: This disclosure provides methods of treating cancer or eliciting an anti-tumor response in a subject by administering an effective amount of a population of T-cells that exhibits higher or lower than baseline expression of one or more genes. In other aspects, methods are provided to diagnose cancer and determine prognosis of cancer patients. Also provided are methods to identify the antigens or antigen receptors associated with the isolated and/or purified cell populations that elicit a more positive prognosis.
