    Abstract: An analog-to-digital converter (ADC) is provided, having two comparators, two digital-to-analog converters (DACs), and an adder circuit. The ADC receives an input value and, over a plurality of conversion cycles of the ADC, generates an output value representative of the input value. Each respective DAC generates a plurality of threshold levels, which are defined, at least in part, by predetermined redundancy levels that are binary-scaled. The comparator arrangement provides an output code in a respective conversion cycle and, for at least two adjacent conversion cycles, the two comparators collectively provide 2-bit output codes. The adder circuit provides a plurality of output bits of the output value, and is capable of overlapping and adding a first significant bit of the 2-bit output code provided for a predetermined conversion cycle with a second significant bit of the 2-bit output code provided for a previous conversion cycle to generate one output bit.

    Abstract: A high-efficiency non-collinearly phase matched parametric oscillator is provided, wherein a laser pumps a nonlinear optical material with a plural number of flat reflection surfaces that zigzag at least one parametrically generated off-axis radiation about the pump laser beam axis via multiple reflections from the surfaces. The off-axis zigzag oscillation of the radiation establishes parametric oscillation and improves energy coupling among mixing waves in a monolithic nonlinear optical material. Preferably the pump laser has a transverse beam size covering the area of the zigzagging parametrically generated radiation. To further enhance the performance of the off-axis zigzag parametric oscillator, the other parametrically generated radiation can be seeded by an external laser source or resonated in a cavity. The present invention also includes a double-side pumped off-axis zigzag parametric oscillator installed inside a standing-wave pump-laser cavity.

    Abstract: A tunable distributed feedback (DFB) semiconductor laser based on a series mode or a series and parallel hybrid mode. A grating structure of the laser is a sampling Bragg grating based on the reconstruction-equivalent chirp technology. DFB lasers with different operating wavelengths based on the reconstruction-equivalent chirp technology are integrated together by a sampling series combination mode or a series/parallel hybrid mode, one of the lasers is selected to operate via a current, and the operating wavelength of the laser can be controlled by adjusting the current or the temperature, so that the continuous tuning of the operating wavelengths of the lasers can be realized.     Abstract: ‘NCORNSP-019SCSHLM’ is a moderately-compact to compact, non-twining, upright variety producing many short shoots. It is distinguishable from other cultivars by its yellow green heart shaped leaves that are entire with a cordate base; a compact habit and semi-erect mounding plant architecture. The lime green leaves of this plant, short internodes, and the plant architecture are what makes ‘NCORNSP-019SCSHLM’ unique amongst the current ornamental sweetpotatoes in the marketplace. ‘NCORNSP-019SCSHLM’ also exhibits very good vigor and is very well branched. In greenhouse and field trials, ‘NCORNSP-019SCSHLM’ has been shown to be much less vigorous than Ipomoea batatas ‘Margarita’ and ‘Blackie’ and is suitable for use as a landscape or containerized plant. The production of flowers by ‘NCORNSP-019SCSHLM’ is sporadic under short day conditions.
