    Abstract: Provided are SpdE polypeptides and variants and nucleic acids encoding the SpdE polypeptides and variants. Also provided are vectors including one or more nucleic acids encoding a SpdE polypeptide or variant and cells including a nucleic acid encoding the SpdE polypeptide or variant, as well as cells expressing a SpdE polypeptide or variant and compositions including such cells and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier. Finally, methods of detecting presence and/or amount of one or more amino acids in a sample are provided. The methods include contacting the sample with a SpdE protein, measuring diguanylate cyclase activity of the SpdE protein; and comparing the diguanylate cyclase activity of the SpdE protein to a control. The methods can utilize isolated SpdE protein or a cell expressing a SpdE protein.

    Abstract: The present invention discloses a nucleotide sequence and use thereof in increasing the density of secretory glandular trichomes in plants. The nucleotide sequence is selected from the group consisting of: 1) a nucleotide sequence according to any one of SEQ ID NOs: 1, 3 and 5; 2) a nucleotide sequence derived from the nucleotide sequence according to any one of SEQ ID NOs: 1, 3 and 5 through substitution, deletion or addition of one or more nucleotides; 3) a nucleotide sequence having at least 80% homology with any one of SEQ ID NOs: 1, 3 and 5. The present invention significantly increases the density of secretory glandular trichomes by transferring any one of the above nucleotide sequences into the plants by means of genetic engineering. Therefore, the invention shows great potential in insect resistance and production of specific metabolites, and has extremely high practical application value.

    Abstract: Various methods and devices for spatial molecular analysis from tissue is provided. For example, a method of spatially mapping a tissue sample is provided with a microarray having a plurality of wells, wherein adjacent wells are separated by a shearing surface; overlaying said microarray with a tissue sample; applying a deformable substrate to an upper surface of said tissue sample; applying a force to the deformable substrate, thereby forcing underlying tissue sample into the plurality of wells; shearing the tissue sample along the shearing surface into a plurality of tissue sample islands, with each unique tissue sample island positioned in a unique well; and imaging or quantifying said plurality of tissue sample islands, thereby generating a spatial map of said tissue sample.     Abstract: An orthogonally polarized Yagi-like MIMO antenna system and a triangular printed wideband Yagi based MIMO antenna system, respectively, and methods for making the antennas. The orthogonally polarized Yagi-like MIMO antenna system includes two slot round loop elements on a top side of a substrate. Each slot round loop element has two input ports and two slot reflectors. For each slot round loop element, one of the two input ports is placed orthogonally to the other input port, and one of the two slot reflectors is placed orthogonally to the other slot reflector. The triangular printed wideband Yagi based MIMO antenna system includes three round loop elements on a top side of a substrate and a circular reflector on a bottom side of the substrate.     Abstract: A method is presented for programming a repeating motion of a redundant robotic arm on the basis of a variable parameter convergence differential neural network. The method may include establishing an inverse kinematics equation, creating an inverse kinematics problem, introducing a repeating motion indicator, converting a time-varying convex quadratic programming problem into a time-varying matrix equation, and integrating an optimal solution to obtain an optimal solution of a joint angle. The use of the variable parameter convergence differential neural network to solve the repeating redundant mechanical motion has the advantages of high computational efficiency, high real-time performance, and enhanced robot arm robustness.
