    Abstract: A method of delivering a non-invasive neurostimulation using a Monotonic Amplitude Pulse Train is more charge-efficient than using conventional, uniform waveforms. Monotonic Amplitude Pulse Trains optimize the amplitudes of individual pulses in a train to reduce the total energy required to provide neural stimulation by as much as 50%.

    Abstract: The present invention provides a coal feeding control method and system for a small pulverized coal silo, the method includes: acquiring a boiler load increase signal, and determining the target function F(t) for boiler load control obtaining the current coal mill output signal B(t), where B(t) is the fuel quantity signal at the outlet of the coal mill that changes over time from the start time; comparing B(t) with F(t): if B(t) cannot meet the fuel quantity requirements of F(t), activate the small pulverized coal silo connected to the boiler; otherwise, the small pulverized coal silo remains inactive; determining the coal feeding signal f(t) for the small pulverized coal silo, and further determining the coal feeding control signal f(t) for the small pulverized coal silo; controlling the small pulverized coal silo to feed coal to the boiler, quickly changing the combustion rate in the furnace, and increasing the boiler load.

    Abstract: A field portable device for determining the unconfined compressive strength of a soil sample includes a sample holder, a heating device, a scale, a spectrometer, and a microprocessor. The sample holder receives a soil sample. The heating device dries the soil sample for a specified time. The scale measures a weight of the soil sample and a dried weight of the soil sample. The spectrometer performs laser induced breakdown spectroscopy on the soil sample and generates spectral emission intensities of the soil sample. The microprocessor calculates a bulk density and a water content of the soil sample, actuates the spectrometer to generate the spectral emission intensities. The microprocessor applies the spectral emission intensities, the bulk density and the water content to a trained machine learning regressor combined with an adaptive boosting classifier to predict the unconfined compressive strength of the soil sample.

On applying the potential, water in the aqueous solution is reduced, and thereby forms hydrogen. The electrochemical cell includes an electrocatalyst and a counter electrode. The electrocatalyst includes a substrate, WO3?x nanosheets, and CdS1?y nanospheres, in which, x is from greater than 0 to less than 3 and y is from greater than 0 to less than 1. The CdS1?y nanospheres are dispersed on the WO3?x nanosheets to form a nanocomposite, which is dispersed on a surface of the substrate. The WO3?x nanosheets have an average length of 600-800 nanometers (nm) and an average width of 300-500 nm, and the CdS1?y nanospheres have an average diameter of 10-50 nm.
