  • Patent number: 4932384
Abstract: A method of regulating the fuel/air ratio of an internal combustion engine, in which the output voltage of an oxygen measurement probe, located in the exhaust pipe of the engine, is used to regulate the fuel/air ratio in the manner that, upon a sudden change of the output voltage of the oxygen measurement probe, a signal jump takes place which is dependent on the direction of the sudden change, followed then by a change, which is substantilly continuous in time, of a correcting variable for the fuel/air ratio. Under substantially steady-state operating conditions the times of the jumps are controlled independently of the sudden changes in the output voltage of the oxygen measurement probe in the manner that the times between the jumps are smaller than the times between previous sudden changes in the output voltage of the oxygen measurement probe.

  • Patent number: 4926821
Abstract: In a system having an electronic controller for internal combustion engines, particularly injection engines in which the controller is functionally connected to a plurality of sensors and at least one actuator, the controller is part of an assembly which furthermore comprises a throttle-valve arrangement, an air-mass sensor and a throttle-valve position sensor. In systems with central injection, the injection valve can also be arranged within the assembly. By the compact structural unit thus obtained, cable connections are reduced to a minimum, so that, in their turn, reliability is increased and expense is saved. Furthermore, the arrangement facilitates maintenance and repair.

  • Patent number: 4908337
Abstract: A foil (15) has cutouts (17) which are bridged over by strips of solder (18, 19). The cutouts (17) are so dimensioned that the strips of solder (18, 19) can be placed transversely over the ends of conductive paths (9-14). The terminals (3-8) of the corresponding electronic component (2) are then placed on the strips of solder (18, 19). Pressure is exerted by means of a ram and heat applied, which leads to the melting of the strips of solder (18, 19) and thus to the soldering of the terminals (3-8) to the conductive paths (9-14).

  • Patent number: 4905650
Abstract: In a method for controlling the air-fuel ratio of an internal combustion engine in which the output voltage of an oxygen measurement probe which is arranged in the exhaust gas duct of the internal combustion engine is fed to a controller and the controller gives off a correcting variable for the air-fuel ratio, signals corresponding to the load and the speed of rotation of the internal combustion engine are furthermore fed to the controller. After each jump in the output voltage of the oxygen measurement probe there take place a first jump followed by, in each case, successive further jumps in the correcting variable. The direction of the jumps depends on the direction of the jump of the output voltage of the oxygen measurement probe while the amplitude of the further jumps is dependent on the load and the speed of rotation.

  • Patent number: 4901366
Abstract: In a circuit arrangement for the timed control of semiconductor switches (1-4) to each of which a freerunning diode (D1-D4) is connected in parallel and which are arranged in branches of a bridge, an ohmic-inductive load (5) of low loss power which lies in the diagonals of the bridge is to be acted on by a controlled average current value. For this purpose two semiconductor switches (for instance 1, 4) lying diagonally opposite each other in the bridge are closed in a current-application phase while in the following freerunning phase a freerunning current flows through the load. For the reduction of the loss power, at the start of the freerunning phase only one (1) of the two diagonally opposite semiconductors (1,4) is opened and a semiconductor switch (3) which lies in the bridge alongside the conductive semiconductor switch (4) is then closed.
