Abstract: Restoration devices in a cloud storage system are paired with source containers associated with a mainframe computer, and series of commands are generated based on the pairings to cause copies of data at the source containers to be stored to the restoration devices. A point-in-time copy of the copy of the data at the source containers may be stored to some restoration devices, and a second copy of the data may be stored to other restoration devices. The restoration devices may be reallocated from inactive source containers. Execution of the commands is monitored, and the commands are modified if the execution of the commands does not satisfy one or more desired conditions. For example, a cycle time associated with copying data to a restoration device may be measured, and if the cycle time exceeds a threshold, the command may be modified.

Abstract: An exemplary power management system detects a signal level representative of an environmental condition external to a mobile device, determines that the signal level is within a predetermined range, and disables, in response to the determination that the signal level is within the predetermined range, a feature of the mobile device. Abstract: A device receives information associated with a resource provided by a cloud computing environment to the device, where the resource is eligible to be reaped. The device determines whether a representation of the resource is referenced in a data structure associated with the device, and initiates a delay timer when a representation of the resource is not referenced in the data structure. When the delay timer has expired, the device stops the resource and one or more resources dependent on the resource and provided by the cloud computing environment, and deletes, from the data structure, representations of the one or more resources dependent on the resource.

Abstract: A method includes determining a radio frequency (RF) fingerprint mapping to an indoor floor plan for an indoor area. The method includes clustering Wi-Fi access point devices deployed in the indoor area into groups of Wi-Fi access point devices based on RF fingerprint data received by at least one reference point device. The method includes selecting a Wi-Fi access point device from each group of Wi-Fi access point devices and determining a RF fingerprint based on the selected Wi-Fi access point devices. The method includes receiving a request for a location associated with a mobile device. The request includes a sampled RF fingerprint associated with the mobile device. The method also includes comparing the RF fingerprints based on the selected Wi-Fi access point devices with the sampled RF fingerprint associated with the mobile device to determine a location of the mobile device within the indoor area.

Abstract: Techniques described herein may use a computing device, such as a smartphone or tablet computer, that is attached to a local area network, as a storage device or supplemental storage device for a set-top box (STB) that is also attached to the local area network. In one implementation, the STB may stream, to the computing device, video content corresponding to a television program that is being viewed by a user of the STB. In response to a command such as a rewind or unpause operation, the STB may request the video content from the computing device; receiving the requested video content from the computing device; and satisfying the unpause or rewind operation, based on the received video content.

Abstract: A first network device receives multiple subscription data campaigns, where each of the multiple subscription data campaigns comprises media content, a free data usage quota, and a price for receiving the media content, presents the multiple subscription data campaigns to a user device associated with a user, and receives a selection of one of the multiple subscription data campaigns from the user device. The first network device receives, from a second network device, an indication that the user has successfully subscribed to the selected one of the multiple subscription data campaigns, where the second network device hosts media content associated with the selected one of the multiple subscription data campaigns, generates an authorization token that includes an identifier of the user, an identifier of the selected one of the multiple subscription data campaigns, and the free data usage quota, and sends the authorization token to the second network device.

An inquiry for a support service is received, at a helpdesk management platform, from a customer requesting assistance, the inquiry including one or more parameters defining the support service. A response is generated to the inquiry based on the one or more parameters, the response indicating a plurality of helpdesks associated with at least one service provider. An instant communication session is established between the customer and one of the helpdesks. The instant communication session is placed into a queue for an agent associated with the one helpdesk.

Abstract: An approach is provided for global multiline roaming. A global roaming multiline platform provisions a communication device with a plurality of communication access numbers respectively associated with a plurality of communication service regions, wherein the plurality of communication access numbers are associated with a single subscriber identity module (SIM) of the communication device. The platform also selects a target communication access number from among the plurality of communication access numbers for relaying a communication session to or from the communication device based on a location of the communication device, a location of a called device, a location of a calling device, or a combination thereof with respect to the plurality of communication service regions.

Abstract: A device receives packet information associated with a traffic flow and a network segment. The network segment includes a portion of a network via which the traffic flow is transmitted. The device associates the received packet information with a period of time. The device determines that the period of time has expired, and aggregates the received packet information based on determining that the period of time has expired. The device determines a network performance parameter associated with the traffic flow over the network segment based on the aggregated packet information. The device generates performance information that identifies the network performance parameter, the traffic flow, and the network segment. The device provides the performance information.

Abstract: Techniques described herein may provide for the organization and the control of nodes in an Machine to Machine (M2M) domain that is energy efficient and may provide for prioritized control of network traffic. Data may be received from of clusters of nodes in a M2M network, each of the clusters including one or more nodes to generate the data and a hub node to receive, from the one or more nodes, the generated data. The hub node may transmit the generated data. An update interval for the one or more nodes in each of the clusters may be set on a per-cluster basis and the update interval may define a period at which the one or more nodes in a particular cluster transmit data towards a corresponding hub node of the particular cluster. Additionally, an update interval for the hub node may be set, the update interval for the hub node being set on a per-cluster basis and defining a period at which the hub node transmits data.

The processor may be configured to receive a request to reconcile physical addresses from a network device, retrieve sub-location addresses from the database based on the request, determine whether each of the sub-location addresses can be deleted from the database based on association between the sub-location address and a physical device, and, for each of the sub-location addresses, delete the sub-location address from the database based on the determination.

Abstract: A test network is provided to test updates to configurations and resources of a distributed platform and to warm servers prior to their deployment in the distributed platform. The test network tests and warms using real-time production traffic of the distributed platform in a manner that does not impact users or performance of the distributed platform. At least one distributed platform caching server passes content requests that it receives to the test network using a connectionless protocol. The test network includes a test server that is loaded with any of a configuration or resource under test or whose cache is to be loaded prior to the server's deployment into the distributed platform. The test network also includes a replay server that receives the requests from the caching server, distributes the requests to the test server, and monitors the test server responses.

Abstract: A routing device is coupled to a storage device to function as a digital video recorder (DVR) to store digital content. The routing device may include a client function to receive and store the digital content, and a server function to provide the stored digital content to a user device. Digital content directed to the client function may be recorded by the storage device, while other digital content may be passed by server function to the user device. The digital content may be received by the routing device in an encoded and/or encrypted format, and the digital content may be recorded by the storage device in the encoded and/or encrypted format.

The first device may validate the service authorization instruction based on the one or more authorization parameters; and update, based on validating the service authorization instruction, information identifying services that are accessible using the key to permit or prevent the service to be accessed using the key without modifying the key embedded in the application.

The device may determine that the reply frame is a last reply frame associated with the write frame and may modify source information to form a modified reply frame. The device may provide the modified reply frame. The modified reply frame may be provided to indicate that the portion of the write operation, associated with the write frame, has been successfully performed.

Abstract: Some embodiments provide a capacity exchange whereby capacity from different content delivery networks (CDNs) can be bought, sold, and traded. The capacity exchange is part of an “Open CDN” platform. The Open CDN platform federates the independent operation of CDNs and other operators of and service providers to distributed platforms participating in the Open CDN platform so that each participant can (1) dynamically scale its capacity without incurring additional infrastructure costs, (2) expand its service into previously untapped geographic regions without physically establishing points of presence (POPs) at those geographic regions, and (3) reduce sunk costs associated with unused capacity of already deployed infrastructure by selling that unused capacity to other participants that are in need of additional capacity.
