  • Patent number: 9417866
Abstract: An Application (“App”) Checker identifies and isolates incompatible applications on a mobile device during a software platform update. After receiving a target platform version number from an Update Server, the App Checker generates a list of installed applications on the mobile device. Next, the App Checker sends a request to an App Store Server or Update Server for an application catalog of applications compatible with the target platform version. Upon receiving the application catalog indicating compatibility status of applications relative to the target platform version, the App Checker iteratively compares the installed application list with the application catalog to identify whether or not each installed application is compatible with the target platform. The App Checker then populates an application quarantine or removal database to identify each incompatible application to isolate incompatible applications, and quarantines or removes the incompatible applications.

  • Patent number: 9419909
Abstract: A device may receive a packet, via a first port, that identifies a source network address. The device may determine a second port, identified in a data structure, that is associated with the source network address. The second port may be different from the first port. The device may determine an age indicator, stored in the data structure, associated with the source network address and the second port. The device may compare the age indicator to a threshold, and may selectively perform a first action or a second action based on comparing the age indicator to the threshold. The first action may include maintaining, in the data structure, a first indication of a first relationship between the source network address and the second port. The second action may include storing, in the data structure, a second indication of a second relationship between the source network address and the first port.

  • Patent number: 9420050
Abstract: Some embodiments provide a log reporting system for a federation of independently operated CDNs so that logs, performance, analytics, and billing can be obtained for customers irrespective of which servers of which federation participants the customers' configurations are deployed to. The system includes a log aggregator, splitter, management agent, archival storage, dissemination agent, data log analyzer, and portal. The log aggregator aggregates server logs from servers of the federation participants. The splitter produces customer logs by regrouping the server logs on a per customer basis irrespective of which servers of which federation participants produced entries for each customer. The management agent controls operations of the archival storage, dissemination agent, and log analyzer. The archival storage archives customer logs. The dissemination agent disseminates customer logs. The log analyzer processes the customer logs to produce reports, analytics, and billing.

  • Patent number: 9413769
Abstract: A system may receive a network address to be validated to determine whether the network address is associated with a toll-free data service. The system may perform a validation operation to validate that the network address is associated with the toll-free data service. The validation operation may be based on a key identifier associated with the network address or a network address signature associated with the network address. The key identifier may correspond to a security key used to create the network address signature. The network address signature may be created using the security key. The system may determine whether to bill a first party or a second party for data usage associated with the toll-free data service based on the validation operation. The system may provide information that identifies whether to bill the first party or the second party for the data usage associated with the toll-free data service.

  • Patent number: 9413842
Abstract: Some embodiments provide instantaneous and non-blocking content purging across storage servers of a distributed platform. When a server receives a purge operation, it extracts an identifier from the purge operation. The server then generates a content purge pattern from the identifier and injects the pattern to its configuration. Instantaneous purging is then realized as the server averts access to any cached content identified by the pattern. The purging also occurs in a non-blocking fashion as the physical purge of the content occurs in-line with the server's cache miss operation. The content purge pattern causes the server to respond to a subsequently received content request with a cache miss, whereby the server retrieves the requested content from an origin source, serves the retrieved content to the requesting user, and replaces a previously cached copy of the content that is to be purged with the newly retrieved copy.

  • Patent number: 9412279
Abstract: A device receives a request for a flight path for a UAV to travel from a first location to a second location, and determines capability information for the UAV based on component information of the UAV. The device calculates the flight path based on the capability information, identifies multiple recharging stations located on or near the flight path, and selects a recharging station from the multiple recharging stations based on one or more factors. The device generates flight path instructions, for the flight path, that instruct the UAV to stop and recharge at the recharging station. The device provides the flight path instructions to the UAV to permit the UAV to travel from the first location to a location of the recharging station, stop and recharge at the recharging station, and travel from the location of the recharging station to the second location via the flight path.

  • Patent number: 9408239
Abstract: A device receives an emergency call via a session initiation protocol (SIP) invite that includes a cell identification (ID) and a service or device type associated with a user equipment (UE). The device determines, based on the service or device type, whether the UE is a fixed device or a wireless device, and uses a static approach to route the emergency call to a public safety answering point (PSAP) when the UE is a fixed device. The device uses a cell database to route the emergency call to the PSAP, based on the cell ID, when the UE is a wireless device.

  • Patent number: 9406206
Abstract: A user device may be used to communicate a message to a rescue vehicle, such as a helicopter, an airplane, etc. A user may provide the user device with message content data, such as a name, a description of a geographic location, whether the user is in need of medical attention, etc., and the user device may create a message pattern based on the message content data. The message pattern may correspond to a machine-readable code, such as a Quick Response (QR) code. The message pattern may be copied to a display panel of a display kit, which may include dimensions suitable for displaying the message pattern to a rescue vehicle in a manner that enables the rescue vehicle to translate the message pattern back into message content data for the effective deployment of search and rescue resources and/or for notifying individuals concerned with the welfare of the user.

  • Patent number: 9408124
Abstract: A network gateway receives a voice over long term evolution (VoLTE) call establishment request from an internet protocol (IP) multimedia services (IMS) core network for a mobile device. The network gateway queries a serving gateway to determine whether the mobile device is transitioning from a first evolved node B (eNB) to a second eNB. If the mobile device is transitioning, based on the existence of a user plane modify request, the network gateway delays forwarding the received request to a mobility management entity until the serving gateway informs the network gateway that the serving gateway received a first data packet from the mobile device via the second eNB as an indication the transition is complete.
