  • Patent number: 7996723
Abstract: According to aspects illustrated herein, there is provided a method, system, and computing device for identifying bugs in a software application. The method provides for hosting the software application on a cloud server and providing the software application to a group of users and monitors usage of the software application. Next, new usage patterns are identified by identifying current usage patterns based on the monitoring are identified and comparing the current usage patterns to stored usage patterns. After that, bugs are identified by: 1) automatically generating a set of new test matrices based on the new usage patterns; 2) automatically running the set of new test matrices on the software application, while the software application is being used; 3) recording error messages generated; and 4) correlating the error messages with the new usage patterns to identify the bugs. Then, a reporting message is generated to report the identified bugs.

  • Patent number: 7995228
Abstract: A web publishing method using J2EE based controller. User submits an image from a workstation and chooses “Print to Website” option as the media type. The image is converted into an image format (e.g. JPEG) that can be display in a browser. These images can then be transmitted through a new output channel that would package them into a J2EE EAR file. The J2EE EAR file would abide by all J2EE conventions for specifying the URL and user interfaces via Struts MVC (Model View Controller). The EAR file can then be dropped in the JBoss deployment directory where it would be made available to the user. The user can receive a prompt at the driver or client tool interface letting them know that printing was successful, presenting them with the new URL, and optionally asking them to password the new web site if so desired.

  • Patent number: 7995940
Abstract: A printing apparatus has a substantially shiny photoreceptor imaging surface, and a photosensor array disposed to receive specularly-reflected light from the imaging surface. A quantity of toner is placed on the imaging surface, and data is derived based on light reflected from the imaging surface. The reflected light is filtered to a color effectively complementary to the toner color. The system avoids noise caused by diffusely-reflected light from powdered toner.

  • Patent number: 7995936
Abstract: Optical measurement system and method for determining a wear level of printer components such as fuser rolls. Papers can be treated with optical brighteners, which act as distinct tag/trace molecules with fluorescent properties. A fluorescence pattern on the fuser roll can be changed in accordance with the edge density distribution in the print engine, when paper edges are accumulated on the fuser roll surface. A photo detector can capture a two-dimensional, digital image of the fluorescence pattern on the fuser roll surface to be measured, after illuminating the fuser roll, with intensity near ultraviolet range, by a light source. An image processor with a parameterized model can measure changes in the fluorescence pattern by analyzing the digital image of the fuser roll surface in order to determine the level of edge wear on the fuser rolls.

Various embodiments of the invention include an assessment of the importance of the activity, the creation of a timeline identifying events of interest, and interaction techniques for seeing more details of an event or alternate views of the video. In one embodiment, motion detection is used to determine activity in one or more synchronized video streams. In another embodiment, events are determined based on periods of activity and assigned importance assessments based on the activity, important locations in the video streams, and events from other sensors. In different embodiments, the interface consists of a timeline, event log, and map.

  • Patent number: 7996181
Abstract: A system and method for measuring a substrate edge signal for image sensor phasing. An intermediate transfer substrate edge signal can be effectively mapped by a substrate edge sensor and recorded for at least one complete revolution. A substrate edge signal from an inter-document zone sampled from any region of a substrate in runtime by a process sensor can also be recorded. A comparison or cross-correlation can be applied between the bare intermediate transfer substrate edge signal and the substrate edge signal sensed in the inter-document zone. A cross-correlation algorithm returns a maximum peak value when the two signals are registered in-phase with one another. This information can then be used to register the bare belt process sensor signal and the process sensor signal over the region of interest in-phase with one another. A flat-fielding algorithm can also be applied to the phase-aligned process sensor data to remove artifacts and compensate for substrate (e.g., belt) induced non-uniformities.

  • Patent number: 7995225
Abstract: A system suited to scheduling print jobs for a printing system includes a first processing component which identifies preliminary attributes of print jobs to be printed on sheets. A job scheduler receives the preliminary attributes and assigns each of the print jobs to one of a plurality of job queues in time order for printing. Print jobs spanning the same time are scheduled for printing contemporaneously. In one mode of operation, the assignment of the print jobs to the job queues is based on their preliminary attributes and on the application of at least one constraint which affects contemporaneous printing of at least two of the plurality of print jobs. A second processing component identifies detailed attributes of the print jobs. A sheet scheduler receives information on the assignments of the print jobs and their detailed attributes and forms an itinerary for each sheet to be printed.
