Abstract: A belt installation guide is disclosed which accommodates the loading of a new belt around drive rollers in a belt module assembly. The guide is placed opposite the end portions of the rollers, the belt is slipped over the guides and held by the guides until the belt is pushed over the rollers. Once in place over the rollers, a tension is exerted on the belt to make it taut over all of the rollers. The guide is removed from near the rolls after the belt is in place over the rollers. The guide when not in use is positioned in housings internal to the rollers, or in housings adjacent to the rollers. The guides are enabled to be removed or pulled out from these housings when ready for use in installing a belt in a belt module.
Abstract: An image processing apparatus includes a receiving section, an edge detection section and a screen processing section. The receiving section receives image information. The edge detection section detects an edge area from the image information received by the receiving section. The screen processing section performs a screen process, which is based on area coverage modulation, for the image information on a basis of the detection result by the edge detection section. The screen processing section performs a screen process for the edge area detected by the edge detection section with (i) a screen angle, which is equal to that of a screen process performed for a non-edge area other than the edge area, and (ii) a number of lines per inch, which is an integer multiple of that of the screen process performed for the non-edge area.

Abstract: A system suited to self-troubleshooting includes a processor which identifies normalized forms of at least some of the words of a natural language user query input by a user. The user query may describe a problem experienced with a machine, such as a printer. The processor retrieves text strings which may comprise problem statements stored in memory. Each retrieved problem statement includes at least one word with a normalized form which is recognized by the processor as being equivalent to one of the identified normalized forms. Each of the retrieved problem statements may be associated with at least one solution sequence for addressing the problem with the machine. In the event that the stored problem statements in memory are not fully responsive, the processor provides one or more options for refinement of the user query based on tags associated with those words of the problem statements which are responsive.

Abstract: A system and method is disclosed for providing usage metrics of digital content. The system includes one or more clients, such as a computer and an audio player device, a usage metrics server and an optional recommendation system, which are connected together by a network, such as the Internet. A consumer or user at a client system, such as the computer, downloads digital content from a content provider. As the client consumes the digital content, a tracking system operating on the client uploads usage data to the usage metrics system. The usage metrics system processes the usage data and stores the processed data in a storage for subsequent retrieval to provide the data to a content provider, the optional recommendation system and/or third party systems.

Abstract: A print demand forecasting system is provided for use with a print production system in which print demand data is collected for each print job processed during a selected time interval. The print demand data is processed with a computer implemented service manager to obtain a first demand series with two or more demand components and a second demand series with one demand component. Each one of the two or more demand components is less than a selected variability level and the one demand component is greater than the selected variability level. The computer implemented service manager is adapted to (1) generate a first demand related forecast with a combination of the two or more demand components, and (2) generate a second demand related forecast with the one demand component if convergent forecasting results are obtainable for the second demand series.

Abstract: An electronic device includes a reprogrammable logic element, a configuration data storage, a reading section, a dummy data creating section, a skip determination section, a writing section and a control section. The configuration data storage stores configuration data for the reprogrammable logic element. The reading section successively reads the configuration data from the configuration data storage. The dummy data creating section creates dummy data. The skip determination section determines as to whether or not the configuration data is to be skipped. The writing section writes the configuration data or the dummy data into the reprogrammable logic element. If the skip determination section determines that the configuration data is to be skipped, the control section controls the dummy data, which is created by the dummy data creating section, to be sent to the writing section.
