  • Patent number: 7796900
Abstract: An electrostatographic printer includes a development housing for supplying developer to an image receptor, and a replenisher in communication with the development housing. In a basic state, a regular supply of developer having a first predetermined TC is supplied. In a special state, a special supply of developer having a second predetermined TC is supplied. In response to determining the printer should be in the special state, the special supply of developer is requested to be installed in the printer, such as through Internet ordering to a vendor. The vendor can also “custom-blend” a developer formulation based on transmitted machine conditions.

Abstract: A solid ink delivery system for use with a solid ink stick for use in solid ink printers is provided. The solid ink delivery system is used for delivering the stick to a melting station for melting the stick so that the ink may be transferred to media to form an image on the media. The delivery system includes a guide for guiding the stick in a prescribed path. The guide defines a loading position to permit the stick to be placed in the guide and a delivery position adjacent the melt station. The stick advances from the loading position to the delivery position in the prescribed path and a portion of the prescribed path is arcuate.

Abstract: According to an exposure device includes an exposure section, a lighting drive section, a first temperature detector and a second temperature detector. The exposure section has a plurality of light-emitting elements. The lighting drive section determines light-emitting energies of the respective light-emitting elements and drives to light the respective light-emitting elements in accordance with the determined light-emitting energies. The first temperature detector is provided in the exposure section. The second temperature detector is provided outside the exposure section. The lighting drive section determines the light-emitting energies of the respective light-emitting elements based on a temperature detected by the first temperature detector and a temperature detected by the second temperature detector.

  • Publication number: 20100225046
Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes an image forming apparatus body provided with an image formation unit and plural paper feeding apparatuses. Paper conveyance paths of the plural paper feeding apparatuses are daisy-chained with respect to the image forming apparatus body. An output unit outputs an instruction signal which instructs a specified paper feeding apparatus to start feeding a paper. A paper feed unit feeds the paper upon receipt of the instruction signal. A recognition unit recognizes a delay time until an analysis that the instruction signal is a paper feed instruction. A correction unit corrects an output timing of the instruction signal based on the delay time.

  • Publication number: 20100226588
Abstract: An image processing apparatus includes a binarization unit, a determination unit and a pixel value calculating unit. The binarization unit binarizes image data. The determination unit determines as to whether or not each pixel of the image data binarized by the binarization unit forms a peripheral portion of a pixel block. The pixel value calculating unit calculates a corrected pixel value of the pixel block based on (i) pixel values of pixels which are determined by the determination unit not to form the peripheral portion of the pixel block and (ii) pixel values of pixels forming the pixel block.
