Abstract: Disclosed are printing methods, apparatus and systems to compensate for distortion caused by fusing toner to a media substrate. According to one exemplary embodiment, the method includes processing image data according to media characterization data for a measured fuser temperature. The media characterization data provides a basis to compensate for media substrate shrinkage due to fusing the printed image on the media substrate.

Abstract: A phase change ink that includes a colorant and a phase change ink carrier. The phase change ink carrier includes a diblock or tri-block co-oligomer wax of the formula H3C(CH2)m(CX1X2)nCX3X4X5, or CX3X4X5 (CX1X2)n H2C(CH2)m(CX1X2)n CX3X4X5, wherein at least one of X1, X2, X3, X4 and X5 are atoms selected from group VII of the periodic table and any remaining one of X1, X2, X3, X4 and X5 are hydrogen, wherein m is an integer of from about 5 to about 50, and wherein n is an integer of from about 3 to about 40. The phase change ink has a property of the phase change ink of providing a surface of a printed portion of the ink having a lower coefficient of friction to glass if the diblock co-oligomer wax was not included in the ink formulation.

Abstract: A method for embedding “no-scan” or “no-copy” information in a document border includes encoding information as a plurality of data carrying dot pair patterns. For each page of a document to be rendered, the method includes determining whether the border area is blank. If found not blank the border area is cleared. Each of the plurality of data carrying dot patterns is embedded in the blank border area of the document page. The document page with the embedded data carrying dot patterns is then rendered, where each data carrying dot is too small to be visually noticeable.

Abstract: This invention relates to a system for support, operation, installation, and removal of an endless belt in a scalable modular printing system. The printing system comprises an input module, at least one marking module, and an output module. The endless belt can be an intermediate transfer belt, a photoconductive belt, or a sheet transport belt used in the marking system. All rollers supporting the interior surface of the belt are supported by their respective module frame structures, thus the interior cavity of the belt is largely vacant. A method of belt installation is described, comprising drawing all interior rollers out of their frame structures, placing the pre-scrolled belt at one end module of the system, uncoiling the belt along its process direction within the internal cavity of the system, then reinstalling the interior rollers to capture the belt into its operating position. From 1 to 8 marking modules can be used, each having a space through which the belt travels during installation; i.e.

The first storage unit stores at least one packet data. The plural second storage units respectively store at least one condition associated with packet data to be stored in the first storage unit. The selector selects at least one storage unit from the second storage units in accordance with a selection signal. The storage controller stores the packet data in the first storage unit if a received packet data corresponds to any condition stored in a selected storage unit, and discards the packet data if it does not correspond to any condition. The selection controller generates a selection signal for selecting at least one second storage unit in accordance with conditions to which the packet data stored by the storage controller corresponds, and transmits the signal to the selector.

Abstract: As set forth herein, a computer-based method is employed to align a sequences of images. Metadata associated with images from two or more sources is received and a time stamp is extracted from the metadata. The images are sorted into sequences based at least in part upon the image source. The similarity of images from disparate sequences is measured and image pairs from disparate sequences with a similarity greater than a predetermined threshold are identified. A sequence of images is aligned by minimizing the misalignment of pairs.
