  • Publication number: 20060228639
Abstract: Toners including a low melt wax and a carnauba wax are described. The toners include at least one binder, at least one colorant, at least one wax having a melting point of 135° C. or less, and a compatibilizer wax (e.g., carnauba wax). The low melt wax is preferably polyethylene wax. Images may be formed with the toners in an image forming process including steps of depositing the toner onto a latent image of an imaging member to form a toner image, transferring the toner image to an image receiving substrate, and fusing the toner image. During the fusing, the at least one wax and the compatibilizer wax exude from the toner, forming a stripping enhancing layer upon the toner image. Thus, fuser roll stripping performance is enhanced.

  • Patent number: 7120314
Abstract: In a machine-fed scanner, orientation angles of edges of an image bearing substrate are obtained and used to calculate image shear and/or skew. A running weighted average of the image skew may be kept in a memory. When a skew value is obtained for a given image, it may be determined whether the skew value is within a predetermined range. If the skew value is within the predetermined range, the skew value is used to determine an image revision to compensate for the skew, and the skew value is incorporated into the running weighted average skew. If the skew value is not within the predetermined range, it is discarded and the running weighted average skew is used to determine an appropriate image skew revision. The running weighted average of the shear may also be kept in a memory. A shear value is obtained for each image, and incorporated into the running weighted average shear. Shear revision is performed based on the running weighted average shear.

  • Patent number: 7119924
Abstract: A process for color graphics image processing, related to detection and segmentation of sweeps, is provided. An input graphics image is transformed into a three-dimensional histogram in an appropriate color space 104 (e.g., CIELUV). Two-dimensional histograms are estimated from the three-dimensional histogram 106. The two-dimensional histograms are processed to detect and segment sweeps 108. Sweep segment information from the processing of the two-dimensional histograms is combined 110. The combined sweep segment information is used to process the input graphics image to identify and segment sweeps 112. Post-processing may be optionally and selectively used to reject false alarms (i.e., areas falsely identified as sweeps) 114.

  • Patent number: 7119928
Abstract: Systems and methods that shift the halftone screen relative to the image data in the low-addressability direction to compensate for misregistration would be useful. In various exemplary embodiments of the systems and methods of this invention, each pixel of the halftone cell is first divided into high-addressability pixels at the high-addressability factor. The high-addressability factor is the ratio between the base resolution and the high-addressability resolution. The high-addressability pixels are then divided into subrows using the same high-addressability factor. Each high-addressability pixel in each subrow is then assigned its own threshold value. By shifting the threshold values between adjacent subrows based on the subrow, a particular halftone pattern in the low-addressability direction is implemented.

  • Patent number: 7120614
Abstract: A data classifier performs a data classification process using prototypes classified into clusters. A prototype map is formed using mapping means and clustering means. The mapping means forms, through learning, a prototype map by adjusting coupling weights between a plurality of prototypes provided in a map space based on a plurality of input data. The clustering means calculates a predetermined measure between the prototypes and classifies the prototypes into a plurality of clusters based on the measure.

  • Patent number: 7119787
Abstract: In an image display device of the present invention, a display substrate has m row electrodes, and a back surface substrate has n column electrodes. The display substrate and the back surface substrate are disposed so as to face one another and such that the electrodes thereof are orthogonal to one another (a simple matrix structure). A top-plane side driving portion is structured by a row electrode driving circuit, a reversing portion, and a reversing switch. When the reversing switch is on, the reversing portion reverses relationships of connection between the row electrode driving circuit and the row electrodes. The backplane side driving portion is structured by a column electrode driving circuit, a reversing portion, and a reversing switch. When the reversing switch is on, the reversing portion reverses relationships of connection between the column electrode driving circuit and the column electrodes.
