  • Publication number: 20060221341
Abstract: Systems and method provide compensation for temperature induced peak wavelength shift of LEDs is color parameter measuring systems that use a model to reconstruct target color parameter values from the reflectance values measured when the target is illuminated by LEDs. Several models may be constructed, with each model being trained at a unique temperature, resulting in a set of models that span the temperature range of interest. In real-time, the LED based color parameter measuring system measures the temperature and interpolates between the models to estimate the appropriate model to use at the temperature of interest. The estimated model is then used to perform the color parameter value estimation.

  • Publication number: 20060222990
Abstract: A method of making particles suitable for use as toners includes forming a mixture of sulfonated olyester resin, a colorant dispersion and optionally a wax dispersion, homogenizing the mixture, adding a coagulant to the mixture to aggregate the mixture to form aggregated particles, and coalescing the aggregated particles to form coalesced particles. In the method, when a predetermined average particle size is achieved during the aggregation and/or coalescing step, a complexing agent that complexes with ions of the coagulant is added in an amount effective to substantially halt any further particle growth. The complexing agent is believed to halt further growth by complexing with free coagulant ions still in the solution.

Abstract: Particles, preferably toner particles comprised of at least binder and colorant, are described that include a doped conductive polymer material as a surface additive on the external surface of the particle. The presence of the doped external conductive polymer material enables the particles to retain a substantially uniform charge distribution over the surface of the particles over time, and also enables appropriate control over the triboelectric (tribo) properties of a developer. Also described are developers comprised of such particles in admixture with carrier particles, and methods of making the particles and developers.
