Abstract: The invention provides a particle dispersion for an electrostatic image-developing toner containing either polycondensation resin particles, which are prepared by polycondensation of polycondensable monomers in an aqueous medium, or condensation compound particles, which are prepared by dehydration condensation of a condensable compound in an aqueous medium. The particles have a median diameter of approximately 0.05 to 2.0 ?m. A dispersion containing the polycondensation resin particles is produced by dispersing resin particles, aggregating the resin particles, and coalescing the aggregated particles by heating.

An LED base panel is fitted on the upper face of the base part, and a lens array is on the part of a side of the projecting part, being arranged between the opposing face of the photosensitive body, and the upper face of the LED base panel. Manufacturing and attaching methods relating to the print head are also disclosed.
Abstract: In an image-data processing system, as would be found in a digital copier or scanner, a relatively quick calculation is performed to estimate a compression ratio or compression time resulting from applying a compression algorithm to an image data set. If the estimated compression ratio or compression time is determined to be unfavorable, the system is advised not to apply the compression algorithm. The method can also be used to select a type of compression algorithm, such as CCITT G4 or JBIG2, according to the requirements of the larger system.

Abstract: A system and method for determining proper positioning of the printhead as it travels between first and second positions by sampling an electrical resistance signal of a motor during tilting of the printhead, calculating an average of specified samples at a time, and comparing the calculated average to a predetermined threshold to determine whether the printhead is operating properly. Thus, the need for sensors to determine the positioning of the printhead is eliminated.

The diamine compound polymer of the present invention has a condensed aromatic group represented by the following formulae (1-1) and (1-2). A represents a structure represented by the following formula (II-1). Y and Z represent divalent hydrocarbon groups. B and B? each independently represents a group represented by —O—(Y—O)m-H or —O—(Y—O)m-CO-Z-CO—OR?, wherein R? is a hydrogen atom, an aralkyl group, an aryl group, or an aralkyl group. m represents an integer from 1 to 5; and p represents an integer from 5 to 5000. Ar represents a monovalent aromatic group. X represents a divalent condensed aromatic group. T represents a divalent linear hydrocarbon group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms or a divalent branched hydrocarbon group having 2 to 10 carbon atoms. k and n each represents an integer of 0 or 1.
Abstract: An IOT controller of an image formation device is provided with an NvRAM. Correction coefficients relating to various parameters, which are specified for each of paper types in advance, are stored in the NvRAM. The NvRAM is provided with a user setting region, and when it is desired to form an image at an unusual paper, parameters of this paper can be inputted by operation of a control panel. When image formation is to be implemented, the IOT controller, after selection of a paper type at the control panel, reads out correction coefficients of the parameters relating to the selected paper type from the NvRAM, implements transfer processing in accordance with these correction coefficients, and forms a high-quality image.
Abstract: A document processing system is provided that renders digital image data in individual pages, where each individual page is rendered to a bitmap page and a corresponding control string. The system includes a system architecture with a control channel for communicating and synchronizing the control strings at one or more process stations in an image output terminal (IOT). Further, the system architecture includes a cross channel rendering technique (“dual rendering”) for constructing the control string in such a manner as to verify process correctness at one or more process station. In addition, a method is provided for setting up and controlling one or more process stations prior to normal operations. Still another method is provided for controlling one or more process stations during normal operations. Finally, a method is provided for archiving documents in an archive station during normal operations for potential retrieval and reference at a later date.
Abstract: A quad roll sheet curl control apparatus uses elastomer first and second rolls forming first and second nips with third and fourth rolls. The first and second rolls have compressible surfaces, while the third and fourth roll surfaces are formed of a substantially uncompressible material. A pivotable gate member in operating relationship with the first and second nips directs sheets to either the first or the second nip whereby the desired decurling orientation is achieved for the sheet by either the elastomer first roll or the elastomer second roll. Switching nips and curl to be induced does not require drive reversal as previous decurler arrangements do. The degree of decurling can be adjusted with at least one cam in communication with at least one of the first and second rolls.
