Abstract: A page to be printed is organized into a plurality of strips. To rendered the page using a tandem printer, each strip is rendered a plurality of times, once for each print engine of the tandem printer. Each time the selected strip is rendered for a different one of the print engines, the rendered image data for that print engine is stored into a separate memory area, such as a buffer, associated with that print engine Once a selected strip is rendered and the rendered image data stored into the associated memory areas, the rendered image data is used by the appropriate print engines to form image portions on a receiving sheet corresponding to the rendered image data. At the same time, a next strip is selected and repeatedly rendered for each of the print engines.
Abstract: A toner process comprising heating a mixture of a latex and a colorant, which heating is accomplished below about the glass transition temperature, Tg, of polymer contained in the latex; cooling; and subsequently adding a methacrylate polymer solution; adjusting the pH of the mixture resulting to permit the methacrylate polymer to precipitate on said mixture of latex and said colorant; and wherein resulting product is heated above about the glass transition temperature, Tg, of said latex polymer.

Abstract: The present invention provides a recording paper containing a substrate, and a method for manufacturing the recording paper. The substrate is manufactured by a method including cross-linking pulp fibers having reactive groups by covalent bonding via the reactive groups; and making paper following the cross-linking. The invention also provides an ink jet recording method for printing on the recording paper with ink, and an electrophotographic recording method for forming images on the recording paper by using an electrophotographic toner. The reactive groups preferably include a carboxyl group, and the amount of the carboxyl group contained in the pulp fibers before the cross-linking is in a range of about 5 to 15 meq per 100 g of the pulp fibers.
Abstract: A method for halftoning an image, including receiving image data including a plurality of color separations and comparing image data for first, second, third, and fourth separations to first, second, third, and fourth halftone screens. The screens are characterized by first, second, third, and fourth pairs of frequency vectors, respectively. The fourth pair of frequency vectors is identical to one of the first, second, and third pairs of frequency vectors. Further, the first, second, third, and fourth screens have an associated fill-in sequence, where the fill-in sequence of the fourth screen is such that overlap between the separation corresponding to the fourth screen and the separation corresponding to the one of the first, second, and third screens to which the fourth screen has an identical pair of frequency vectors does not occur until a combined dot area coverage of the separations is greater than 100%.
Abstract: A method for improving the image quality, which includes substantially predicting an effect of reload error for at least one toner color of a developed image, modulating the color density of at least one pixel of a digital image to compensate for the predicted effect of the reload error, generating the developed image based upon the modulated digital image.

Abstract: Historically, the creation of digital line screens was considered to be a subset of the creation of the digital cluster dot screens. The geometric constraints necessary for digital cluster dot screens were imported into the creation of digital line screens. Accordingly, the number of available angles or digital line screens was also significantly limited. In various exemplary embodiments of the systems and methods according to this invention, a digital line screen cell is defined such that the vectors defining the digital line screen cell are not necessarily isometric and are not necessarily at right angles to each other. By using a high-addressability grid that has different resolutions along x and y axis of the grid, the systems and methods according to this invention allow the components of the vectors along the high-addressability direction to be noninteger multiples of the components of the vectors along the other direction of the grid.
Abstract: A technical solution for easily carrying out detailed image formation control corresponding to respective customers, i.e., a detachable unit, an image forming apparatus, a server computer, a computer program and client system for easily carrying out detailed image formation control corresponding to respective customers, is to be provided. The detachable unit is a detachable unit detachable to an image forming apparatus, the detachable unit has a memory part storing information containing control information, and upon mounting the detachable unit on an image forming apparatus main member, operation of the image forming apparatus is controlled based on the information stored in the memory part.
Abstract: In an image display device of the present invention, a display substrate has m row electrodes, and a back surface substrate has n column electrodes. The display substrate and the back surface substrate are disposed so as to face one another and such that the electrodes thereof are orthogonal to one another (a simple matrix structure). A top-plane side driving portion is structured by a row electrode driving circuit, a reversing portion, and a reversing switch. When the reversing switch is on, the reversing portion reverses relationships of connection between the row electrode driving circuit and the row electrodes. The backplane side driving portion is structured by a column electrode driving circuit, a reversing portion, and a reversing switch. When the reversing switch is on, the reversing portion reverses relationships of connection between the column electrode driving circuit and the column electrodes.

Abstract: A method of prefiltering is applied before data compression of scanned image data to better preserve important information. Before prefiltering, the image is segmented and tagged as belonging in a first region, such as a Lineart region, in which edges are the most important information, or a second region, such as a Contone or Halftone Region, in which pixel level is the most important information. For prefiltering, dynamic filters condition the image data passing into the two compressors. Each filter attempts to suppress noise associated with its particular channel by applying a smoothing filter, no filter or a sharpening filter based on segmentation tags and other characteristics of the data.
