  • Patent number: 6615352
Abstract: A burden caused by handling a large number of unique identifying information pieces such as authentication keys is to be lightened from both the user side and the protector side such as application creators. A proof data verification device sends authentication data to a proof data generation device. The proof data generation device generates proof data from both received authentication data and user unique identifying information held therein and sends it back to the proof data verification device. The proof data verification device holds an access ticket and authentication data, and verification means in the verification device performs a signature verifying calculation by use of the proof data, authentication data, and the access ticket. If the verification is successful, the execution of program is allowed.

  • Patent number: 6611991
Abstract: A method for movably connecting two members. The method comprises the steps of molding a first member in a first mold portion and placing the first member within a second mold portion. The method also includes inserting molten material into the second mold portion to form a second member. The method further includes limiting contact between the first member and the material to prevent bonding between the first member and to permit relative motion between the members. The method also includes cooling the molten material into a solid form, whereby an assembly is formed from the first and the second member. The method further includes removing the members from the second mold assembly.

  • Patent number: 6614742
Abstract: The present invention relates to an optical head, a magneto-optical head, and a disk apparatus, that have high light efficiency, can realize high-density recording medium and perform high-speed recording and reproduction, and can prevent erroneous record or erroneous reproduction, and a manufacturing method of the optical head. When a converged beam enters an incident surface of a transparent condensing medium, its refracted beam is condensed on a light-condensed surface and forms a light spot. Since leaking out to an aperture formed on an outer surface of the light-condensed surface of this light spot, near field light is scattered by a micro metal member. In addition, since, also in the micro metal member, plasmon resonance occurs by the irradiation of a laser beam, near field light leaks out therefrom. This near field light becomes propagation light and enters a recording medium of a disk, and recording into the recording medium is performed by this light.

  • Publication number: 20030161534
Abstract: What is presented is a method for feature recognition using loose-gray-scale template matching including at least an initial point for locating within the received image a plurality of pixel points in gray-scale surrounding an initial point. The method has the steps of first locating the initial point and the plurality of pixel points to define feature boundaries and then generating a looseness interval about the located initial point with template information being associated therewith. The next step involves determining which one of a plurality of templates for fitting fits within a threshold looseness interval, and then outputting a signal associated with that recognized feature.

  • Publication number: 20030163301
Abstract: A process for generating with unification based grammars such as Lexical Functional Grammars which uses construction and analysis of generation guides to determine internal facts and eliminate incomplete edges prior to constructing a generation chart. The generation guide can then be used in the construction of the generation chart to efficiently generate with unification-based grammars such as Lexical Functional Grammars. The generation guide is an instance of a grammar that has been specialized to the input and only contains those parts of the grammar that are relevant to the input. When the generation guide is analyzed to determine internal facts a smaller generation chart is produced.

  • Publication number: 20030161670
Abstract: Choices relating to printing conditions which can be designated at a printing device are displayed on a display section of a host device. The choices are displayed as folders. Folder groups, in which printing conditions relating to sheet size, number of sets, double-sided/single-sided printing, N-UP printing, and absence/presence of sorting are set as names of folders, are displayed successively and hierarchically. Here, by selecting designations until a folder of a lowest hierarchy and by manipulating a file of print data into the folder, printing conditions at a time of printing the print data are designated and are transmitted to the printing device.
