  • Patent number: 4480432
Abstract: A stranding machine wherein element wires are twisted twice for every turn of the flyer and thus obtained stranded wires are wound on a bobbin positioned inside the flyer in such a manner as to be rotatable thereto. This is an inclined vertical type stranding machine wherein the revolution axis of the flyer is inclined to the vertical line so that the direction of gravity force exerted on the floating frame supporting the bobbin is inclined to the revolution axis of the flyer, which makes it easy to keep the floating frame stationary. This is also a constant Pitch stranding machine provided with a device which control the running speed of stranded wires to keep the ratio of the running speed of stranded wires and twice the revolution rate of the flyer, that is, the pitch of the stranded wires.

Abstract: A slide fastener stringer comprises a stringer tape and a row of continuous meandering fastener elements fixed by sewing threads to one longitudinal edge of the tape, the elements being reinforced by a braid mounted on and extending along the element row. The slide fastener stringer has a cut edge where the tape, extreme one of the fastener elements, sewing threads, and braid, all including thermoplastic synthetic resin material, are fused together against raveling of the cut ends of the tape, sewing threads, and braid, and against sticking up of the element from the tape. The extreme fastener element has a pair of upper and lower legs one on each side of the tape, the legs being wrapped jointly by the sewing threads and stringer tape that are fused together and with the upper and lower legs. The braid is fused with portions of the sewing threads and stringer tape which extend beyond and around the extreme fastener element.

  • Patent number: 4069780
Abstract: A twin-needle sewing machine for stitching lap seams which have been produced by basting a pair of fastener stringers to the edges of an article bounding an opening therein and then by folding the article edges along the basting lines. The sewing machine has a presser foot comprising a pair of parallel spaced main portions, and a pair of wings projecting laterally outwardly from the respective main portions. A guide fixedly mounted on the throat plate of the sewing machine has its sloping rear surface disposed opposite to the front end of the presser foot. The folded article edges together with the stringers basted thereto follow a curved path created by the guide as they are drawn under the presser foot for final stitching of the lap seams, in order that the article edges may not unfold.
