Abstract: Methods of designing seismic survey and acquisition of seismic data with reduced noise using equally or optimally irregularly spaced sources or receivers are described. Specifically, prime number ratios for the station to line spacing is used to prevent harmonic leakage and other noise contaminations in the acquired seismic data.
Abstract: A battery can has a cylindrical body section, an opening section at one end of the body section, and a bottom section closing the other end of the body section. An annularly grooved portion is formed by constriction near the open end of the opening section. The annularly grooved portion has an upper-groove section as the section closer to the open end than the narrowest section, which is positioned farthest inside, of the grooved portion, and also has a lower-groove section as the section closer to the bottom section than the narrowest section. The wall thickness T1 of the lower-groove section is larger than the wall thickness T2 of the body section.
Abstract: Described herein are systems, methods, and software to enhance the management of responses to incidents in an information technology (IT) environment. In one example, a management system identifies an incident in an IT environment, identifies an initial status for the incident for an analyst of the IT environment, and provides the initial status for display to the analyst. The management system further monitors state information for the incident in the IT environment, identifies a second status of the incident based on the monitored state, and provides the second status for display to the analyst.
Abstract: A rotor assembly for a fixed-wing VTOL aircraft. The rotor assembly is configured to provide vertical flight for the fixed-wing VTOL aircraft. In one embodiment, the rotor assembly includes a hub assembly, a first rotor blade affixed to the hub assembly, and a second rotor blade affixed to the hub assembly. The hub assembly orients the second rotor blade in relation to the first rotor blade about an axis of rotation of the hub assembly with the first rotor blade and the second rotor blade vertically stacked when the hub assembly is stopped for wing-borne flight.
Abstract: A rotary combustion engine, such as a Wankel engine has a rotor with a rotor pocket for receiving air-fuel mixture that is combusted therein to propel the rotor within the housing. Rotor air channels extend from an inlet that is configured in the compression chamber to an outlet configured in the rotor pocket to deliver compressed air-fuel mixture to said rotor pocket. The rotor air channels have an open portion, open on the face of the rotor and a closed portion extending as a conduit into the rotor to the rotor pocket. Fuel may be delivered to the rotor air channel from a rotor-gear fuel conduit that receives fuel from the fixed gear or a side-wall fuel conduit that receives fuel from a housing side-wall injector through a side-wall fuel transfer port. Rotor air channels may be configured to direct air-fuel streams to intercept one another to enhance combustion.
Abstract: A communication device, method and computer program product enable multiple transceiver communication in a communication device having a configurable housing. A pivot mechanism is connected between first and second housing portions for relative movement of a housing assembly between open and closed positions. The closed position aligns four antenna positions in the first housing portion adjacent to one of four antenna positions in the second housing portion to present four pairings of adjacent antenna positions. Four antennas are positioned within the first housing portion or the second housing portion at a different one of the four pairings of adjacent antenna positions. A radio frequency (RF) front end is communicatively coupled to the four antennas and has two or more transceivers that utilize the four antennas to communicate without antenna-to-antenna signal cancellation in RF low band while the housing assembly is in either of the open position and the closed position.

Abstract: This document describes Kurtosis based pruning for sensor-fusion systems. Kurtosis based pruning minimizes a total quantity of comparisons performed when fusing together large sets of data. Multiple candidate radar tracks may possibly align with one of multiple candidate visual tracks. For each candidate vision track, a weight or other evidence of matching is assigned to each candidate radar track. An inverse of matching errors between each candidate vision and each candidate radar track contributes to this evidence, which may be normalized to produce, for each candidate vision track, a distribution associated with all candidate radar tracks. A Kurtosis or shape of this distribution is calculated. Based on the Kurtosis values, some candidate radar tracks are selected for matching and other remaining candidate radar tracks are pruned. The Kurtosis aids in determining how many candidates to retain and how many to prune.

Abstract: A power management circuit operable to reduce energy loss is provided. The power management circuit is configured to provide a time-variant voltage(s) to a power amplifier(s) for amplifying an analog signal(s). To achieve best possible operating efficiency at the power amplifier(s), the time-variant voltage(s) needs to rise and fall frequently and quickly in accordance with power fluctuations of the analog signal(s). The power management circuit stores an electrical potential energy (e.g., capacitive energy) when the time-variant voltage(s) increases and discharges the electrical potential energy when the time-variant voltage(s) decreases. In embodiments disclosed herein, the power management circuit is configured to harvest a portion of the discharged electrical potential energy to thereby charge a battery. By harvesting the discharged electrical potential energy, it is possible to prolong battery life concurrent to supporting fast and frequent voltage changes.
Abstract: Pixel image data of a scene is received in which the pixel image data includes a two-dimensional representation of an object in the scene. Point cloud data including three-dimensional point coordinates of a physical object within the scene corresponding to the two-dimensional representation of the object is received. The three-dimensional point coordinates include depth information of the physical object. The point cloud data is mapped to an image plane of the pixel image data to form integrated pixel image data wherein one or more pixels of the pixel image data have depth information integrated therewith. A three-dimensional bounding box is predicted for the object using a convolutional neural network based upon the integrated pixel image data.

Abstract: A system and method is provided for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) guided respiratory gated radiotherapy using a respiratory motion model. MRI-guided respiratory gating is performed with a continuously updated model that represents a patient's internal anatomy as a mathematical function of an external respiratory surrogate. The motion model may be built and updated by acquiring images of a tissue in a subject and measuring, using the images, a position of the tissue in the images to determine motion of the tissue. The surrogate respiratory signal is acquired contemporaneously with acquiring the images. Motion of the tissue and the surrogate respiratory signal are correlated to create the motion model for the subject and gating a radiotherapy system may then be based upon the motion model. A multi-planar model-based respiratory gating may also be performed by sequentially imaging a stack of adjacent slice positions.
