Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for providing scalable and concurrent file systems. A backend storage system comprising an interface and a processing unit may be configured to perform the techniques. The interface may present the file system storing objects representative of data. The processing unit may receive, from a frontend host system coupled to the backend storage system, a plurality of client operations to perform with respect to the objects identified by the client operations, and identify an object type associated with each of the identified objects. The processing unit may select, based on the object types, one or more backend operators that implement the plurality of client operations, and apply the backend operators to the identified objects.

Abstract: An egg carton and method and apparatus for forming an egg carton. A main body of the egg carton may be made of a single sheet of material and folded or otherwise bent to form the majority of the carton's interior space. Partition walls may be engaged with slots formed in the main body to define separate storage areas of the interior space as well as help hold the main body in the desired configuration. Hooks on the sides of the partition walls may engage with openings in the main body to secure the main body to the partition walls.

Abstract: Systems and methods leverage trust anchors to generate tokens which can then be used by network functions (NFs). A virtualization infrastructure manager (VIM) for a virtualized platform receives a NF software package and a certificate request token (CRT) from a management function. The NF is a virtual NF, a containerized NF, or another virtual entity (xNF) to be deployed. The CRT is digitally signed by the management function and includes a network address of a trust anchor platform and a NF profile. The VIM deploys the NF and provides the CRT to the NF. The NF obtains from the CRT the network address of the trust anchor platform, generates a certificate signing request (CSR) for a digital certificate, and submits the CSR and the CRT to the trust anchor platform. The NF receives a digital certificate from the trust anchor platform based on validation of both the CSR and CRT.

Abstract: A refrigerator includes a cabinet defining an exterior configured for resting on a surface and an interior and a plurality of feet coupled with the cabinet along a bottom surface thereof. The refrigerator also includes a plurality of load transducers disposed between and in opposing contact with the cabinet and respective ones of the feet. The refrigerator further includes electronic circuitry including a non-transitory computer-readable medium configured to receive a signal corresponding with a gross weight of the cabinet from the plurality of load transducers and to determine the quantity of articles retained within the interior of the cabinet.

The controller is able to execute electric power adjustment processing on the condition that electric power is acquired from the electric power acquirer and the power supply unit is in operation. The electric power adjustment processing includes reducing a difference between electric power to be acquired from the electric power acquirer and electric power to be inputted to the power supply unit.

Abstract: A point of sales (POS) system includes a server configured to store a list of commodities registered for purchase in association with identification information about a customer and a terminal comprising first and second scanners through which a commodity code is read. The terminal is configured to acquire identification information, upon reading of a commodity code through the first scanner, transmit first data including the commodity code and the identification information to the server, and upon reading of a commodity code through the second scanner, transmit second data including the commodity code and the identification information to the server. The server is configured to, upon receipt of the first data, register the commodity having the commodity code in the first data in the list, and upon receipt of the second data, delete the commodity having the commodity code in the second data from the list.

Abstract: Techniques are described herein for managing transactions between data consumers and data providers using a blockchain. In some embodiments, a blockchain network receive smart contracts that govern access rights to data sets provided by blockchain members and smart contracts that execute blockchain transactions based on the usage of data sets. When a data set is provided to a blockchain member through the blockchain network, usage of the data set may be tracked. Responsive to detecting usage of the data set, one or more smart contracts may execute one or more blockchain transactions within the blockchain network.

Abstract: Computer-implemented methods and computer systems are disclosed herein as implemented by a controller operatively coupled to a network of electric vehicles. The methods and systems include the controller (i) receiving a notification that an electric vehicle is stranded without sufficient power to operate; (ii) receiving information regarding the stranded electric vehicle; (iii) detecting one or more other electric vehicles in a vicinity of the stranded electric vehicle; (iv) receiving information regarding the detected one or more other electric vehicles; and/or (v) determining, based upon the received information, which of the detected one or more other electric vehicles to send a power source request. Alternatively, the notification may indicate that an electric vehicle has a low state of charge (SOC), or is otherwise has a battery in need of being recharged to facilitate the electric vehicle traveling to a destination.

Abstract: Embodiments described herein provide a supervisor for fault management at a production system. During operation, the supervisor can obtain a set of sensor readings and a state of the production system. A respective sensor reading is an output of a sensor in the production system. The supervisor can then determine, using an artificial intelligence (AI) model, whether the set of sensor readings accommodates a fault associated with a corresponding sensor. Subsequently, the supervisor can determine an action that mitigates an effect of the fault and modify the set of sensor readings based on the action. Here, the modified set of sensor readings is used by a controller that controls the production system.

In a direction perpendicular to the array direction, a width Dlt of each power transmission coil is equal to or longer than a width Dlr of the power receiving coil.

Abstract: In some embodiments, a method sends first messages that request first information for a set of blocks of the blockchain to the N replicas. Each replica maintains a respective instance of the blockchain. Second messages is received from at least a portion of the N replicas. The second messages include the first information for the set of blocks from each respective instance of the blockchain that is maintained by the N replicas. The method analyzes the first information to determine whether a consensus on the first information is reached by a number of replicas. When consensus is reached, a request is sent to a replica for one or more blocks to back up to a backup blockchain and second information is received for the one or more blocks from the replica. The method uses the second information to back up the one or more blocks in the backup blockchain.

Abstract: A method for originating a vending transaction via machine-readable code includes storing, in a memory of a computing device, an account identifier associated with a transaction account, reading, by an optical imaging device of the computing device, a machine-readable code displayed on a vending machine, wherein the machine-readable code is encoded with at least a device identifier, electronically transmitting, by a transmitting device of the computing device, at least the device identifier and an account identifier to a third party system, and receiving, by a receiving device of the computing device, a transaction confirmation indicating approval of a payment transaction involving the transaction account and the vending machine.

Abstract: In an example embodiment, a solution is used to provide container volume replication via a container storage replication log and volume buffer synchronization, which is built on top of a container cloud platform whose container metadata and replication runtime configuration are all managed by a storage manager (a service orchestrated by its job scheduler and service orchestrator). This container volume replication ensures the data security for a long-running service in the container. In the case of any disaster, the in-memory database and application data inside of the container can be recovered via volume replication. This provides container volume replication for long-running containerized applications whose states keep changing.
