Abstract: An electric vehicle (EV) chassis is disclosed that may be a modular platform flexible as a basis for numerous other EV platforms. It is contemplated that the entire electric drivetrain (i.e., powertrain, wheels, steering) may be supplied to an automotive original equipment manufacturer (OEM). The OEM may use the EV chassis for integration within a representative passenger compartment. The chassis may also be reconfigurable with the modularity at various levels that include the energy storage system, the entire chassis system, or any level in-between. The chassis may further be designed to allow connection of multiple modules to enable a larger scale energy storage that may be provided to homes, buildings, or the electric power grid.

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, devices, apparatus and methods, including computer programs encoded on storage media, for wireless power transmission. In accordance with this disclosure, a wireless power transmission apparatus (such as a charging pad) may support positional freedom such that a wireless power receiving apparatus may be charged regardless of positioning or orientation of the wireless power receiving apparatus. Various implementations include the use of multiple primary coils in a wireless power transmission apparatus. The multiple primary coils may be configured in a pattern, size, shape, or arrangement that enhances positional freedom. In some implementations, the placement of the multiple primary coils may optimize the size and distribution of electromagnetic fields that are available to charge a wireless power receiving apparatus.

  • Patent number: 11914669
Abstract: Approximate nearest neighbor (ANN) searching is a fundamental problem in computer science with numerous applications in area such as machine learning and data mining. For typical graph-based ANN methods, the searching method is executed iteratively, and the execution dependency prohibits graphics processor unit (GPU)/GPU-type processor adaptations. Presented herein are embodiments of a novel framework that decouples the searching on graph methodology into stages, in order to parallel the performance-crucial distance computation. Furthermore, in one or more embodiments, to obtain better parallelism on GPU-type components, also disclosed are novel ANN-specific optimization methods that eliminate dynamic memory allocations and trade computations for less memory consumption. Embodiments were empirically compared against other methods, and the results confirm the effectiveness.

  • Patent number: 11897117
Abstract: A drill bit cooling system is provided. After drilling use, the drill tip of a drill bit reaches higher temperatures than a shank or flute of the drill bit. Compartments are provided that are sized in length and width (diameter) to accommodate the drill bit and a cover or back plate with an increased melting temperature facilitates the storage of hot drill tip. By using different components to construct the drill bit holder, a lightweight and versatile cooling system permits the drill bit to be rapidly interchanged on a power tool or drill, without melting through the storage device. This helps the operator interchange drill bits while working on a workpiece without waiting for each drill bit to cool prior to storing and replacing the drill bit.
