Abstract: An apparatus and method for A/B testing including a storage device storing a set of data, an input device receiving input from a sensor according to a review of composed set of data, a processor receiving an input signal from the input device, the input signal including a plurality of criteria noted according to a time of the composed set of data, the processor processing the first set of data according to a feedback of the input signal. The processor analyzes the input signal and extracts the plurality of criteria from the input signal as extracted information.

Abstract: A method is disclosed for identifying the media content. The method includes receiving fingerprint media content from a content provider to obtain a first set of fingerprints, the first set of fingerprints including a first subset of fingerprints in a first fingerprint layout and a second subset of fingerprints in a second fingerprint layout. The method can include receiving a second set of fingerprints for media content displayed on the electronic device, the second set of fingerprints comprising a third subset of fingerprints in the first fingerprint layout and a fourth subset of fingerprints in the second fingerprint layout. The method can include matching a first fingerprint in the first subset of fingerprints to a second fingerprint in the third subset of fingerprints or a third fingerprint in the second subset of fingerprints to a fourth fingerprint in the fourth subset of fingerprints in order to identify the media content.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed herein for creating a co-watching experience among audience members who are physically apart when watching the media asset. A media guidance application may monitor a sound of the first user. In response to the sound being detected during the monitoring, the media guidance application may determine whether the first user emitted the sound based on an occurrence in the video. In response to determining that the first user emitted the sound based on an occurrence in the video, the media guidance application may store the sound in connection with a timecode of the video corresponding to a time when the sound is detected. When the video is displayed to a second user, the sound of the first user may be played back based on the timecode of the video stored in connection with the sound.

Abstract: Dynamic controlled-environment facility resident media broadcasting services transmit, via a controlled-environment facility local area network, a controlled-environment facility wireless media channel within a controlled-environment facility, playing a playlist available to controlled-environment facility residents to listen to, on respective personal controlled-environment facility resident media devices of the residents. An option for one of the residents to control content of the playlist and/or an option to suggest content for the playlist is offered on the respective personal resident media devices of the residents. Content of the playlist may be adjusted based on suggestions by the residents, such as in response to no resident accepting the offer to control content of the playlist.

Abstract: A method is provided for displaying an immersive video content according to eye movement of a viewer includes the steps of detecting, using an eye tracking device, a field of view of at least one eye of the viewer, transmitting eye tracking coordinates from the detected field of view to an eye tracking processor, identifying a region on a video display corresponding to the transmitted eye tracking processor, adapting the immersive video content from a video storage device at a first resolution for a first portion of the immersive video content and a second resolution for a second portion of the immersive video content, the first resolution being higher than the second resolution, displaying the first portion of the immersive video content on the video display within a zone, and displaying the second portion of the immersive video content on the video display outside of the zone.

Abstract: Systems and methods are described herein for a media guidance application that facilitates presenting, to a user, media assets that match a search expression by generating for display media asset identifiers corresponding to media assets that are scheduled for transmission to a plurality of users during a specific time interval. The media asset identifiers corresponding to media assets that match the search expression are distinguished from media asset identifiers that correspond to media assets that do not match the search expression. Furthermore, media asset identifiers corresponding to media assets that match the search expression are distinguished from each other based on an attribute of each media asset that matches the search expression.

Abstract: A receiving device of the present disclosure includes: a first processor that (i) receives a broadcast signal obtained by modulating multiplexed data including at least first multiplexed data in a first multiplexing format, out of the first multiplexed data and second multiplexed data in a second multiplexing format different from the first multiplexing format, (ii) demodulates the broadcast signal received, and (iii) outputs the multiplexed data obtained as a result of the demodulation; and a converter that (i) converts, into the second multiplexing format, a multiplexing format of the first multiplexed data included in the multiplexed data that has been output, and (ii) outputs converted data obtained as a result of the conversion.

Abstract: Embodiments of a method and apparatus for publishing information and a method and apparatus for processing information are provided. An embodiment of the method for publishing information can comprise: receiving a request for publishing a video playing application, the request for publishing including configuration information of the video playing application; applying a preset video interactive template to the video playing application, the video interactive template including a processing logic relating to a video; and publishing, based on the configuration information, the video playing application applied with the video interactive template. According to some embodiments, by applying the preset video interactive template, a developer may complete the development and the publishing of the video playing application without paying attention to the processing logic of the video, thereby effectively reducing the development costs.

Abstract: Systems and methods are described for seamlessly connecting devices based on relationships between the users of the respective devices. A media guidance application may determine that a first user has entered an environment (e.g., his/her mother's home) and may determine a frequency with which the first user enters the environment (e.g., daily). In response to determining that the first user visits frequently, the media guidance application may identify a second device in the environment (e.g., a smart TV) that a second user (e.g., the first user's mother) is authorized to grant access rights for. The media guidance application may determine a likelihood that the second user will grant the access rights for the second device to the first user, based on interaction data between the first user and the second user. In response to determining a high likelihood, the media guidance application may transmit the access rights.

Abstract: Systems and methods are described that relate to delivering content to users. In one aspect, a primary client device and/or servers may communicate with secondary client devices to determine the identity of one or more users requesting content at the primary client device. Once the users and other attributes are identified, the primary client device may determine user characteristics which may be analyzed in conjunction with one or more spatiotemporal factors related to the content request. This analysis may lead to definition of a scene associated with the content request and to recommendation of content.

Each of the plurality of services includes one or a plurality of components and a first control signal transmitted by a unidirectional transport session. The processing circuitry is configured to process the one or the plurality of components constituting a particular service of the plurality of services included in the broadcast stream, and process the first control signal of the particular service received from signals transmitted by the unidirectional transport session according to an Internet Protocol (IP) address. Each of the plurality of services is associated with a different IP address that is contained in packets of the one or the plurality of components and the first control signal of the respective service, and in an IP layer.

Abstract: An interactive video distribution system and video player are described. A client server arrangement may be used for providing a video player and video content to a client device. The video player may display navigation images enabling navigation to specific portions of the video content by activating a corresponding navigation image. The video player may also enable the sharing of a segment of the video with other video players, enabling the video players to play the streamed segment of the video without having to play the entire video, thereby reducing network bandwidth usage. The video player may be embeddable. The server may associate searchable tags with respective video segments.

Abstract: This application discloses a media content recommendation method. The method includes the steps of receiving historical data of access to media content by a user or media content data followed by the user; determining an interest tag of the user according to the historical data or the followed media content data; and determining a recommended user group for the user according to the interest tag, and sending an identifier of the recommended user group to a client for presentation. The method further includes the steps of receiving an access request that carries the identifier of the recommended user group and that is sent by the client; determining, according to the identifier of the recommended user group, media content recommendation information provided by each user in the recommended user group; and pushing, to the client, the media content recommendation information provided by each user in the recommended user group.

A content distributor may receive a content asset comprising a plurality of content fragments. The content distributor may be further configured to adjust a playback duration of a portion of the content fragments so that the placement opportunity may be inserted at the content asset fragment boundaries.

Abstract: The present technology relates to a reception apparatus, a reception method, a transmission apparatus, and a transmission method that enable provision of an emergency warning service more suited to actual operation. Provided is a reception apparatus that includes a reception section and a demodulation section. The reception section receives a physical layer frame transported as a broadcast signal. The demodulation section demodulates physical layer signalling acquired from the physical layer frame and monitors whether or not emergency warning information has been transported on a basis of emergency warning notice information acquired as a result of the demodulation. In a case where the emergency warning notice information indicates that the emergency warning information has been transported, the reception apparatus starts up automatically. The present technology is applicable, for example, to a transport system for transporting a physical layer frame compliant with a DVB-T2 standard.

Abstract: Techniques and systems are provided for identifying a video segment displayed on a screen of a remote television system, and providing an option to switch to an alternative or related version of the video program that includes the video segment. For example, video segments displayed on a screen of a television system can be identified, and contextually-targeted content or contextually-related alternative content can be provided to a television system based on the identification of a video segment. The alternative or related version of the video program can include the currently displayed program in an on-demand format that can be viewed off-line and can be started over from a beginning portion of the program.

Abstract: A broadcast signal transmission method is disclosed. The broadcast signal transmission method according to one embodiment of the present invention comprises the steps of: processing video data and audio data; encoding a broadcast service component, including the video data and audio data, and service layer signaling (SLS) information on the broadcast service component on the basis of a delivery protocol; subjecting the broadcast service component, the SLS information, and service list table (SLT) information to IP packetization; and subjecting the broadcast service component, the SLS information, and the SLT information to physical layer processing.
