  • Patent number: 6941663
Abstract: In a cable cutter (10) for cutting cables, leads, pipes and the like, two intersecting levers (14, 16) are articulated by a common first pivot joint (12). One of the levers (14, 16) consists of two parts, a front lever section (26) forming a cutting jaw (22, 24) and a rear lever section (28) forming a handle (20). These lever sections (26, 28) are articulated by a second pivot joint (30) and are interlockable in at least two distinct angular positions (32, 34). A limit by way of a glide means (38) is guided in a recess (36) for engagement of an associated recess each (40, 42) in the distinct angular positions (32, 34) of the lever sections (26, 28). There, the glide means (38) is automatically lockable, being preferably a spring-loaded pin supported on the front lever section (26) for movement in a longitudinal direction, either parallel or at a right angle to the axes of rotation (A1, A2) of the pivots joints (12, 30). The pin side facing the rear lever section (28) may be widened or broadened.

  • Patent number: 6935030
Abstract: A spiral cut craft tool and method of making a spiral cut is provided. The spiral cut craft tool has a housing with a cutting guide in the housing. A cutting edge is provided that is projecting into the cutting guide. The cutting edge is coupled to the housing. The cutting guide is adapted to constrain a hollow straw having a centerline from lateral movement at the cutting guide while also allowing the straw to be rotated about the centerline. The cutting edge cuts a spiral cut in the hollow straw when the housing is rotated about the centerline of the hollow straw.

  • Patent number: 6935215
Abstract: The invention provides a slicing and conveying system that includes a slicing blade that cuts slices from a loaf, and an output conveyor located below the slicing blade for receiving the slices in a draft. A control system automatically adjusts a lateral movement of the output conveyor to form a laterally shingled draft of a consistent width in response to a sensed lateral dimension of the loaf being sliced. The control system includes a displacement sensor carried by a laterally adjustable guide assembly adjacent to the slicing blade. The displacement sensor is signal-connected to a control. The control is signal-connected to the output conveyor to control the lateral movement of the output conveyor according to the lateral dimension of the loaf sensed by the displacement sensor. As an additional aspect, the slices can be shingled in the longitudinal direction to form a two dimensional footprint.

  • Patent number: 6935027
Abstract: A shaving apparatus includes an outer cutter (60), for example in the form of a perforated foil, and an undercutter assembly (10), adjacent to the outer cutter, which is drivable for linear reciprocation in a reciprocation direction. The undercutter assembly has a driven primary undercutter (20) and a secondary undercutter (30), which is moveable with respect thereto, the blade elements of the primary and secondary undercutters being mutually interleaved. When the primary undercutter (20) is reciprocated relative the outer cutter (60), the secondary undercutter (30) also performs a reciprocating movement, which lags behind that of the primary undercutter, so the blade elements of the primary and second undercutters move towards one another at intervals and can trap hairs therebetween, causing them to be pulled in addition to the cutting action and thus achieving a closer shave.

  • Patent number: 6931973
Abstract: A slicing machine has a blade having an edge, and a carriage adapted to carry a foodstuff to be sliced and displaceable past the blade edge in forward and reverse directions. A reversible drive on the support is connected to the carriage for displacing it in both directions. A sensor on the support generates an output when the foodstuff on the carriage is generally engaged by the blade edge. A controller connected between the sensor and the drive serves, on forward displacement of the carriage and foodstuff thereon, to forwardly displace the carriage and foodstuff thereon by the drive on generation of the output and subsequently, when the sensor means stops generating the output, displaces the carriage and the foodstuff thereon in the reverse direction by the drive.

  • Patent number: 6928911
Abstract: Method and apparatus for severing tire ply stock (S) wherein the apparatus includes a knife assembly (14) utilizing a blade (50) having a curved leading edge (58) and a straight trailing edge (62) which meet at a leading point (66). The ply stock (S) is supported by a slotted anvil (26) in the area immediately adjacent a cut line. In operation, the knife assembly (14) is lowered and the leading point (66) pierces the ply stock (S) between adjacent cords. During the downward stroke, the trailing edge (62) back-cuts the ply stock (S) from the insertion point (98) to a first lateral edge (18). The leading edge (58) severs the remainder of the ply stocks (S) as the knife assembly (14) traverses the ply stock to a second lateral edge (22).

  • Patent number: 6928915
Abstract: A plug prevention device is provided in a slicing machine having a rotary impeller for carrying products such as potatoes or the like into engagement with cutting knives to form lattice cut slices, wherein the plug prevention device prevents the products from lodging within an upwardly open inlet throat of the impeller. The plug prevention device comprises an elongated stationary rod having one end projecting into the impeller throat at a position substantially off-axis relative to an axis of impeller rotation. Products entering the impeller and tending to lodge by centrifugal action against an internal wall of the impeller throat will strike the rod, causing such products to separate from wall of the impeller throat and fall further into the impeller for slice processing.

  • Patent number: 6925922
Abstract: An apparatus for removing tiebars of a lead frame after one or more semiconductor components have been encapsulated in a resin to form a package body includes first and second removing stations. The second removing station is provided for removing scraps that may be left between leads of the lead frame after the tiebars have been removed in the first removing station. In the second removing station, the lead frame is positioned on a die. A scrap-cutting punch is moved relative to the die so that projections of the punch are fitted into corresponding holes of the die, thereby pushing the scraps out of the leads and into the holes.

  • Patent number: 6925919
Abstract: A table saw has a height and inclination adjustable saw blade which is mounted on and rotatable with a blade shaft that is driven by a motor. A support seat is movable relative to a mounting frame, and supports the blade shaft. A shaving collecting member is disposed in the vicinity of the saw blade to collect wood shavings. A casing is secured to the support seat, and is communicated with the shaving collecting member. An impeller is disposed rotatably in the casing, and is mounted on a driven shaft that is coupled to the blade shaft so as to permit rotation of the impeller when the motor is in operation, thereby drawing wood shavings from the shaving collecting member to the casing and out of a discharge port in the casing.

  • Patent number: 6925918
Abstract: A die board on a rotary cutting die includes one or more scrap strippers to remove scrap from adjacent cutting blades secured to the die board. The rotary cutting die cooperates with a rotary anvil to cut corrugated board directed through a nip. Each scrap stripper includes a compressible base with a compressible post inserted into and extending from an opening in the base. As the corrugated board is directed through the nip, each scrap stripper compresses, causing the post(s) to flex against a scrap area and crease the scrap area while the cutting blade(s) cut the scrap area. As the scrap stripper exits the nip, the scrap stripper expands and strips the cut scrap piece from the cutting blade(s) and the corrugated board.
